Cookie Monster ice cream is the best. Get it with the waffle cone and wow. Sugar high. There is always a line of happy people waiting for different delicious items. Such a fun place to come hang out on a sunny day.

The ice cream at Pelicans is excellent but my husband and I went for the first time this season and the pricing has gotten outrageous! Drive a little and check out Sunny Sky’s outside of fuquay! It’s 3.00 for 3 scoops not 5.00 for one! The quality is comparative if not better with 120 flavors!

Pelican’s SnoBalls are the best shaved ice I’ve ever had in my life. They have a lot of flavors and they don’t put too much or two little flavoring in. It’s perfect. This will probably be my go to spot for the summer.

So good!!! Flavor all the way to the last delicious drop. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to stop here. Growing up, snowballs were a rip off. Each time we kids would buy one, we would hope the syrup would last till the end. Nope. You’d just end up with some white ice and broke pockets until you got more change from mom and dad. So when I would see people lined up outside a snowball place, I would just drive by. I mean who wants a snow ball after being ripped off as a kid. These people must be nuts or «to each his own». Not here Jack! The flavors are addicting and yes I must limit my visits so my blood sugar will remain stable. Man oh man, do we love ourselves some Pelican’s. No more Sonic slushes for me when I want an ice fix. We make up reasons to go… did I mention it’s cheap???

My son and I love to go to this place for a fun mommy and son day! The stuffed snowballs are the BEST! Several flavors to choose from that sometimes it’s hard to decide! A little pricey, but worth it!

Cheap and good. Had sour apple, green apple, and mango ices and they were all good. Mint chocolate Ice cream was really good. Plus the prices can’t be bet.

You get lots, but it is expensive and the cheesecake flavor that we tried was no better than you get with a gallon of store bought ice cream. In fact, for the price we could have bought a gallon. The eating area is run down. I’d recommend going elsewhere for a family treat.

I come here for the shaved ice. It is dirt cheap, there are like 118 flavors, the service is quick and friendly. I always use the drive though. The small is adequate for an adult and the large is just gigantic– I bought it once on accident. My favorite flavor is wedding cake. I have heard their ice cream is very good too but I have never tried it personally.

No comment on the shaved ice, but their ice cream is good. However the prices are ridiculous. OK portions but to pay 7.75 for 2 scoops of decent ice cream and questionable customer service is absolutely outrageous. I definitely won’t be back.

This is not the Pelican“s of old. They have eliminated my favourite, The Monkey Cup. The reason given was that they sold so many that it held up the drive thru service. I’m no Marcus Lomonis but that kind of small business logic defies good common sense.

The snoballs are great, this rating is based on customer service at this location. Last summer I brought two five year olds and my mom in 90 degree heat to cool off with a refreshing treat. We stood in line for over 30 minutes, even though there was only a group of teens with about 5 kids and a family of 4 ahead of us. There was only one girl working and she was painfully slow at her job. The line behind us got longer, but soon enough everyone would give up waiting and just leave. Finally, after 30 minutes of patiently waiting in the sweltering heat with two little kids dying to get some snoballs, the girl working opened the window and said, «I’ll be with you guys after I wait on the people that just drove up in the drive-thru.» We were dumbfounded. Here we had waited for half an hour and she left us for people that had just driven up. At that point we were so angry we decided it wasn’t worth waiting any longer. We got in the car but my mom went back to tell the girl why we were leaving. She calmly explained that when customers have been waiting a long time you wait on them first, then the people that come after them. The teen girl shrugged her shoulders, clearly not caring that her slow, rude, poor service had lost customers. We used to be regulars at a different location, but now we won’t go to any locations due to poor service and clear lack of management. BTW, this location appears run down and has little to no shading. Just a parking lot. Do yourself a favor and get some ice cream in an air conditioned location instead.

fantastic snoballs and delicious ice cream! The prices can’t be beat. Small snoballs are only $ 1.50! Downside is they accept cash only but go to the ATM and go crazy! We have out of town family that insists on stopping by every time they come to town! My new favorite snowball is the Grenade. It’s Sour Green Apple and Lemonade. Super sour and refreshing!

surprisingly good ice cream. i didn’t expect much, but i’d honestly say its as good as cold stone /marble slab /etc… The Cookie Monster flavor is out of bounds. Definitely give that one a shot. You won’t regret it. The snoballs are also great. Seriously, give this place a shot over some of the bigger name places. Do it.

STOPTHEPRESS… this place is freaking amazing… 1. The Ice-cream is amazing. Big huge chunks of oreo’s in my cookies and crème. It was all gooey and amazing. 2. It is dirt cheep. Take a look at Cold-Stone and then look here. This place is a deal. 3. The snow balls are very good. 4. This is my new favorite ice-cream shack.

Stopped into Pelican’s Ice Cream on the way back from softball practice with my niece this evening for a snoball. There are a zillion flavors to choose from so picking was not easy or quick for the munchkin. We finally settled on a red raspberry and a blue raspberry snoball. It was an insane amount of syrup leading to the temporary staining of lips, teeth, and tongue but it was delicious all the same. We got the medium size which was pretty big and were out the door with two freshly shaved ice syrup bombs for only $ 4 — well worth the blue lips. Gonna have to check it out again soon for the ice cream.

I know what your thinking. What is that little dive in the middle of a parking lot that«allegedly» serves ice cream. No I am not getting it because I don’t want to die. That’s what I thought for almost 6 years. Until I tried it. Holy… crap. Seriously… one of the best ice creams I have tasted. It was just creamy enough. You know… Breyers is like ice sometimes and Haggan Daaz is almost too creamy. This was just perfect. Just creamy enough and very flavorful. I couldn’t believe this ice cream came from a little hut that looks like the old Kodak Photo Booths. They have a ridiculous amount of flavors, all made fresh with REAL fruit. I’ve gone there 3 times in last 10 days since I made my first visit. They also have shaved ice and a product that combines the ice with ice cream. I have not tried that yet but I heard it’s pretty awesome.

The servings here are GIANT… I ordered a single scoop of blueberry on a waffle cone and it took about 10 minutes to eat the silly thing. It takes a few minutes from the time you order until you get your stuff… they have a sign that says something about quality taking time. Fine, I am a believer now. Someone told me that this place is recently under new ownership and they did not buy all the best recipes when they acquired the place. Apparently there was this amazing peanut-butter/chocolate ribbon flavor that they don’t have and won’t attempt to replicate anymore. I thought the trash cans decorated as giant ice cream cones were quite clever!
