Fairway Window & Pressure Cleaning

First I had Fairway pwerwash the entire house in order to get ready to sell the place. Fantastic job. They mentioned they have a new Fairway Handyman Service and I had a squeaky kitchen floor I needed fixed before I listed the house. They inspected the crawl space and wrote me a quote. The following week they came out with a couple of people with radios, one inside and one under the house. 30 minutes later all of the squeaks were gone. Fantasitc service, very professional. I had previoously contacted other flooring and handy man services to have this work done and none would touch it. Fairway will be my go to vendor when I move into my new home also.

This review is about my interaction with the company, not the product, since I wasn’t able to use Fairway. I called for an estimate for a routine house wash. The soonest appointment for an estimate was 3 weeks out. That was ok with me, it’s good to be busy. I also called a couple other places to compare.
Fast forward 3 weeks later to my «free estimate» appointment. In the mean time, I’ve had the house cleaned, since two other companies were able to get back to me sooner and had time to do the job. The gentleman from Fairway arrived on time (you get a star for that) and I let him know that since making the appointment for the estimate I’d gone ahead and had the job done but will be needing it again on a routine basis.
Clearly annoyed, he immediately asked why I didn’t cancel the estimate appointment. Dumbfounded, I explained that I was interested in his price in order to potentially do business next time around — like this fall. His point was that he needed to see how dirty it was. That is fair, but if we are cleaning the house 1 – 2 times a year, it shouldn’t be very hard to estimate the level of effort, even if its a ballpark. He just said «call us when it’s ready to be done again» and walked off. Right.
Compare that to last week, when another company happily gave me an estimate after the job had been done, and quoted some other smaller jobs like my sidewalks as well.
I guess I didn’t represent a quick payoff. Pretty short sighted, and frankly kind of rude. I won’t waste your time or mine again.
