I’ve only been here twice but I’m a fan. I love how they have already marinated meats. I have tried the pastor, chicken breasts and carne de res. All of them had a similar seasoning and taste to them and they were delicious. You can’t beat the prices either. You can get almost 2lbs of marinated chicken and a pound of pastor for less that $ 5. I can grantee you it would cost you way more to make pastor on your own. The staff there is very friendly and don’t forget to check out the bakery glass case when you enter on your left. There are a bunch of great looking desserts there. The produce has always looked fresh at Compare and we’ve had no issues with the meat.

Neighborhood grocery store with lots of products outside my realm of interest(like Goya beans). Incredible Apex location where you can’t miss it unless you’re trying to. And if you are trying to, I can see why as Compare Foods flaunts its strengths and its weaknesses equally. I’ve stopped in for random items, but they always either seem to have some other version of the brand I’m initially after. They never have what I want, but I end up settling for something else that’ll do. That’s what sets them apart from stores like Food Lion. I’d hate to say that Bigger Is Better(especially because my favorite GS Trader Joe’s proves otherwise) but in this case, that’s what’s happening. If your thing is Inca Kola or Ducal products, this is your spot, as Compare caters heavily to the Hispanic community. And it’s not uncommon to find a taco truck parked outside if you’re in the mood for that too. However, I’m more inclined to stop at the one a little ways further down Williams st. toward Holly Springs. Superior tacos at that truck.

This is the only place to get fresh oxtail and beef tripe., however not short rib tip. Expiration says 8⁄16., thaw it 11th and its dark brown and it smells. It don’t look like that when it’” was inside the display freezer., just odd. Be careful buying frozen meat here.
