Love this wine shop! My friends and I enjoyed a wine tasting here 2 months ago and it was very educational. Tonight my husband and I came back to grab a nice bottle of wine for dinner and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We ended up sitting at the bar for a tasting and tried several wines. We left with 3 new wines based on the staffs recommendations. Thanks Apex Beverage Co, we will be back!

I was invited to a wine tasting at Apex Beverage Company the other night, it was my first visit here and it was wonderful. Eric the owner is extremely knowledgeable about wine. We must have asked him a hundred questions between the nine of us and he was happy to answer them all.
They had place settings set up for us when we walked in. It’s very cute inside with a small bar to sit at for tastings. Apex Beverage sells a wide variety of wines as well as craft beers.
Eric made a tasting for us of Chardonnay’s and Cabernet’s. We started with «the fast food hamburger wines» otherwise none as «2 buck chuck» basically wine that is priced around $ 5.99 or less a bottle. I have to admit I love my wine but I can be cheap about it. I barely buy a bottle of wine that is over $ 10. It was great to actually get the background on the wines and understand exactly why wine is priced a certain way and what you’re really paying for. This was an excellent tasting and I had to be careful not to down every glass of wine, these were big tastings not just little sips. We finished the tasting with some wonderful estate wines, «the filet mignons» which obviously none of us were going to pour out. I didn’t really find a wine that I was crazy about during the tasting, but really enjoyed the experience and all the information I left with. That being said I did end up buying three bottles of wine after speaking with Eric about what I liked and he made some great suggestions. If you love wine or beer this place is definitely worth checking out!

What a great find! And I do mean find… Here’s now I found this treasure in Apex. Years ago, I purchase a great bottle of wine on a lark at Total Wines in Cary, The Gatekeeper. Very nice Australian Shiraz. Since then, I literally was unable to find it anywhere. Recently, I started doing Google searches trying to find someone to buy it from online /​get it shipped to me. Some quick research lead me to the fact that it had been renamed to The Gate. None of the big local stores had it or even knew what I was talking about. Thinking it must be the same vinyard /​wine, I ran a search for buy Shiraz The Gate. As usual, dozens of online sellers popped up, but I could hardly believe when one of the top results was called Apex Beverage Company. Pretty funny to have found a result in my own town when I was willing to order it in from anywhere in the Country.
I stopped by for a quick visit one evening and found out that they not only knew about the wine, but could most likely order it for me quickly. I left them my number and email and got both an email and a call back a couple of days later. Everything was handled over the phone and I had a great case of wine about a week later.
I’d highly recommend these guys for a great selection and a willingness to order what a client wants rather than just suggest an alternative that they can sell faster.

This is a great wine shop with a very knowledgeable staff. If they don’t have what you are looking for they are happy to try to find it for you. They have a nice selection in a wide range of prices as well as a large selection of beers.
Update: I don’t know why I only gave this store 4 stars in my first review! I was being stingy with my stars at the time, but this is a great wine shop. They go out of their way to help you find wines even if they don’t have them in the shop and they have a beautiful tasting bar now too!
