A-1 Auto & Muffler Repair

Needed the harmonic balancer replaced on my 1999 Jeep Cherokee. A-​1 was very pleasant over the phone and was the same in person. Their service and price was outstanding. And, even though I didn’t ask for it, they used the same high quality part I found in my part search.

After getting price from a few shops these guys blew the competition away with not only there prices but there customer service !!! The got me in fast were super understanding and explained everything i needed to know without making me feel dumb lol !! I will definitely use them for all my automotive needs from now on !!!

Was told by another shop that I needed a spring kit put on for $ 135. A friend mentioned I should come here before having that work done to see what these guys had to say. The other shop lied. I didn’t need a spring kit. Steve blew off the dirt and dust with the air pressure thing (technical name) and that was all that was needed. No more squeaking and it only cost $ 10. I had been unhappy with the mechanic I was using and I’m so glad I came here. Steve showed me the part and that there was nothing wrong with it. Very professional and courteous. This is my new place to go.

The staff at the counter is really nice. Was here last year to have both catalytic converters replaced. Good service then.
So called and made an appointment because my mechanic indicated the drivers side cat was plugged. Show loss of power and pressure on the o2 sensor.
So they indicated it would be covered as long as the cat was bad, but they would have to check it first.
And here is where it goes downhill…
They pulled the cat, immediately welded the new cat in and let the counter person know it would be warranty. A few minutes later mechanic came in said there was nothing wrong with my old cat. So they obviously did not check it visually. And now 276 later with a cat I did not need and I never signed an authorization for the repair. Now to open a bbb complaint.
Good customer service would not have sold me what I did not need and would have put the old cat back in before installing a new one.

A-​1 Auto is wonderful! From the office staff to the technicians! They are fair, HONEST and fast. I live over 10 miles from them, with many shops in between yet we take both of our vehicles there for everything from general maintenance to repairs. My family has also used them for years and when we moved here they insisted we give them a try and I’m so happy that we did!

Moving to AZ from NY meant having to find a new mechanic we have tried a few but once we found A1 auto we stopped looking and will not go to anyone else, in fact we recommend them to all our family & friends who are also satisfied. A1 is good, honest and fair priced. Its not like me to recommend companies but Steve & his staff I highly recommend.

A1 muffler is a great mechanic to do business with. My car broke down on the side of 60 east bound. I hobbled to the first Mecanic I found which was a1 muffler. I have never been here before but within seconds the owner made me feel rite at home.
My alternator went bad and I had to have my battery recharged. I also ask if they would change my serpentine belt while I was there. They gave me a fair price and had me back on the road in a jiffy. I would have been willing to pay more bc I was stranded but they treat me like a family member. Please be advised that although it looks like one big auto business it’s not. A1 muffler is at the end of the building under the sign. I will go back to get my service done in the future. Thanks for taking care of me.

Called on Tuesday night with an urgent request to get my Jeep in for some much-​needed repairs before the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. This effectively meant that all the work would need to be completed the next day — Wednesday. Not only did they squeeze me in without much notice, the work they did was top-​notch and VERY reasonably-​priced. For right around $ 500 (including all parts and labor), they did the following work on my faithful 1998 Jeep Cherokee:
–Performed a comprensive maintenance inspection on all vehicle systems
–Removed and replaced both front shocks
–Removed and replaced cracked motor mounts
–Removed and replaced worn sway bar bushings
–Tested, removed and replaced faulty battery
–Removed loose/​damaged skid plate, custom-​welded new mounting brackets, and reinstalled skid plate
–Removed, balanced, rotated, and re-​mounted all four tires
They also noticed that the rear main (oil) seal was starting to develop a leak, as was one of the radiator seals. Rather than recommending that these be fixed immediately, though, they asked me to simply keep an eye on them and to replace them when the leaks become problematic down the road. Very honest appraisal of the situation and a totally pressure-​free conversation.
Very impressed with A-1’s professionalism, high-​quality workmanship, and prompt service. The Jeep has never been driving better, and I will certainly be taking it back to A-​1 for service for many years to come.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with them last week. I bought a retired police cruiser awhile back and intend to turn it into a Mad Max style cruiser. Well, it needed some sound. I went over to A-​1 and told them I wanted to get rid of the mufflers and sleeve the exhaust to straight pipes. In our neck of the woods, that’s usually a $ 150 job for a dual exhaust ride. They charged me $ 80 and they did it in about 45 minutes! I showed up, discussed what I wanted, they took my keys, and 45 minutes in, I was rumbling down the road in my desert doom rider! Awesome service and excellent prices!

Car and truck problems can be a very stressful situation for some people, especially for a single woman. I walked in there unsure, thinking, «they are just going to try and scam me» well, they didn’t. They took me back into the work area and showed me what was wrong and showed me what should be normal. Offered a fair price to fix it, was not trying to rip me off at all. I would recommend them to anyone. They are fair and honest.
