I and my family been coming here almost since their beginnings, and they always never disappoint, their precise, understanding, and detective like in solving our vehicles problems, their always fair and reasonable in repair pricing, I’ve came in and if was just needing or missing a simple nut/​screw and sent me home with no charge! I’m tool savvy, but they caught things I’ve missed and their A number 1 in my address book!

It’s worth towing your car the extra distance to have these guys work on it. I’m giving them a 5 star rating because they deserve it.
These guys constantly amaze me. I had a wiring problem with the starter on my Super Beetle. There where mixed up broken wires everywhere, I had no idea which ones went to the starter. I took it there thinking it would take a few hours to figure out the mess I made. I was kind of amazed they figured it out so quickly. Thy only charged me a diagnostic fee which included figuring out the problem, fixing the wires, and adjusting my Carburetor. Also these guys are one of the very few shops in the bay area that know how to adjust a Carburetor.

Because time is money I brought my vehicle to a professional because I didn’t have the time to spend a day with my wrenches & multiple trips to the auto parts store. I had NO idea what I was in for. This had to be the worst automotive repair experience in my +35 years of driving. My first impression was the place was cluttered, dark & dead. There seemed to be more personal project vehicles in the shop than customers vehicles. That should have been my first clue. I left hoping they would complete the work I’d asked for. It turns out they didn’t want to listen to the customer & only did the repairs they felt were necessary. The result was two days wasted, $ 250 in repairs & the problem worse than before (the vehicle still overheating & the AC that was working now disconnected). True… They could have taken (in my estimate) +$ 1500 in repairs that I asked for but my vehicle would have been repaired and preventative maintenance completed. Instead they did less than was asked, informed me of things that were broken & needed replacing that were and still are in perfect working order. When I had another day off that I could dedicate to repairs their competitor completed the work I had requested and guess what? The problem was solved.

I have used this shop many times and have never questioned their word because they don’t do work unless you need it. Best mechanics and good people. Price wise they weren’t the cheapest but neither is their work. I like a good job fast and cheap but as any mechanic will tell you, you need to pick two of the three and come back. This is the most honest mechanic and hard to find. I went through plenty who screwed me before finding this outfit. All I really wanted was the straight truth from the start. I can’t stand hype. This place has that and I know if I need work old or new car I will go back.

We have been back a few times. Once because of a worrisome noise from our brakes and the others for regular maintenance. The brakes were declared to be just fine with 70% left and on one of the maintenance visits they suggested we not change the belts as specified as there was not enough wear to justify that. Two opportunities to take our money for work not needed that were passed on. I might add that we have dealt with three different mechanics in total so it is clear that this is just the way the business is run. I am hoping we do not get our faith put to the test with something expensive but I will have faith.

Brought my daughter’s car in, thinking the worst. The owner talked about maybe an expensive valve job & so I agreed. It turned out to be a very simple fix and we were back on the street for very, very much less $ than I was prepared for. A very honest, competent shop. I’ll be back next time I need any automotive work.
