This place started out good, as most places like this, and is dwindling fast! I want to support business but you have to be consistent with what you do. Every time I’ve gone the food has taste different and the quality is cheap! I hate to use the word«cheap,» but that is what you get. Most of the advertisements are false and the servers don’t know what the specials are for that day! There seems to be a big turnover with servers period, and the few that are there appear frustrated due to lack of help and product. This could be a successful venue, but management needs to reevaluate some things here.

I reeeeaaaaally hate to write this review but my last two visits to this establishment were pretty mediocre. About a month ago I stopped by on a Tuesday evening and wanted to order the Spinach dip. They were out of Nacho chips and had also run short of other items on the menu; so the choices were VERY limited. I mean, there were maybe two or three items available to order. Bad for business. The young lady was genuinely apologetic for this. Came in this past Tuesday evening(11⁄10) again for the $ 2 appetizers special. Ordered the Bourbon Street nachos. When the dish came out I noticed that the presentation was quite sloppy and not appealing at all. The nachos sauce wasn’t very warm, and looked like they just took the stuff and dumped it on the chips, not much sour cream, most of the chips were broken up terribly, the lettuce looked old(dark very wiry looking), and I wondered how long my plate sat in the kitchen before it was brought out to me because most of the nacho chips were surprisingly soggy. I recommended The Complex to a friend who was visiting from out of town earlier this month and he stated that he didn’t have a good experience at all. Like myself, he isn’t a hard person to please and was stunned that he didn’t like this place. I kept this at 3 stars because the service from the ladies, as always, is pretty good. Undecided if I’ll return anytime soon at this point.

The bartender was on point! My husband and I came in for an early dinner around 6pm, randomly before our movie. She made my drink it was BoMB French martini warning not for the light weights! We caught them on happy hour so $ 5 signature drinks and draft! We order the spinach dip, delish!!! I had the jerk chicken and the bourbon sweet potatoes with the rice it was spicy which I love! My hubby got the chopped steak, chopped mushrooms with sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese! What this Mac and cheese taste like my momma made it??? Awesome! Annd they were playing all the great R&b oldies… Great atmosphere .No complaints we will be back soon!

The food was EVERYTHING!!! I ordered the shrimp and grits and devoured it. Lol! We sat at the bar and the server was really nice. The only thing I did not like was the servers wear corset tops and tiny shorts with fish nets. I’m sure it’s tasteful after hours, but I don’t care to see ass cheeks if they aren’t mine. BUT… It didn’t break my experience at all… You see they got 4 stars. Anyways… The shrimp and grits came with 2 sides which totally took me by surprise. I ordered mixed veggies and Mac and cheese. AH-MA-ZING!!! My friend ordered the Cajun pasta and that came with a side salad. Both amazing. This place has awesome food and the happy hour is from 2 – 8. Pretty sweet. You should def try this place out.

This happy hour bubbling, smoking hurricane is $ 5 well spent. The music is great and not too loud. After two hours I am in love with the dj. He had played nothing crass and lots of old school club tunes. The vibe is friendly. This is the first time in a while I’ve been out and been comfortable by myself, observing, reading, drinking, being. There’s plenty of parking, non valet and valet. The crab cakes were filling and not full of filling, the greens had lots of turkey and the 3 cheese mac was fever, it just needed a bit of salt. My friend’s shrimp and grits were delicious, with a tomato base. The cornbread was not to sweet though I detected coconut and it seemed to have been dipped in honey at the bottom. Now for the cons: service is slow and the waitresses seem to do everything, tend bar, clean tables, etc. And they only excel at bartending. There is no system to convey or check on orders so they are walking back and forth to the kitchen constantly. There also does not seem to be a sink behind the bar. The dress code is only on paper. All the servers are scantily clad in black with great body image. Don’t wear black, statement necklaces and flats or you’ll be mistaken for the help. I see men and women in questionable garb. Tabasco sauce is king, in drinks and dishes. Be warned. There are two sets of bathrooms. I did not visit the one by the entrance but I’m glad someone told me it existed because I was huffing about the other. By the kitchen there is one bathroom for each sex with one sink outside to share. That’s not adequate, though nicely decorated. Plus the mirror faces the kitchen, which is open. I don’t like knowing my food came from the same hall as people who may or may not wash hands. It’s also surprising that the dispensers don’t work and they’ve only been open a few weeks. Kudos that they had soap and towels, though. All in all, I’d come back and be patient while they get staffing in order. The waitresses should not be hustling like they are. They need to be free to attend to customers better.
