One time at work I was having a ton of pain in my side. My right hip area. It was effecting my performance and interactions with customers. I was holding my side and almost Lamaze breathing. It got so bad customers were asking what was wrong. I’m one of those people that doesn’t go to the Dr until I’m almost dead. My boss was tired of watching me be in pain. She called Dr. Friesens office pretending to be me and gave them my symptoms. Then she tells me that I have an appointment at 11 am. Thank goodness she did because I may have gotten really, really sick or even worse. I went to Dr. Friesens office and he ran all kinds of tests. He poked and prodded and couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. My urine was fine my white blood count was in normal range. Yet, I was doubling over in pain. He referred me to another specialist in gastrointestinal medicine. I had to wait a day for that Dr. Turns out I had a massive infection in my appendix. The infection had been building for a month. If it wasn’t for my boss and Dr. Friesen I’d probably be dead. Most recently I was having pain again in what you would say my gallbladder area. Dr. Friesen didn’t stop until we had some kind of answer. This time I was not as sick as before but he really made sure no stone was unturned. Thankfully I didn’t have any stones either. He’s a great old school Dr. His office reminds me of the 50’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if he retires soon. I hope his replacement is as good as him. If he retires I’ll actually have to put effort into finding a Dr.
