All of the staff are awesome. It’s a full service salon and very personable staff. My colorist/stylist is April and she’s amazing with styling, color and updos. I have difficult hair to work with but she works miracles every time! Love MG!!!

Every service I have done here has been the best! Also, everyone who works here is fabulous. I would say this is the salon to come to in regards to whatever you are looking for. Also, a glass of wine while your here is the icing on the cake :)

Front desk girl asked if i wanted something to drink so i just requested water. while i was putting on my smock in the closet that is in the kitchen, i saw her use her hand to pull ice out of a bucket on the counter and fill up my glass out of the faucet in a sink filled with dirty dishes. After my hair was done i went back to the closet to take off my smock and the girl who got my water was coming through the back door from obviously smoking because the smell trailed in with her. I found out she was actually the manager. Two stars because hair was nice but for the price i paid, i expected something more high end and professional.

I hail from NYC so am pretty spoiled when it comes to salons, but I love this place. Shauna is the lash and facial wizard, and everyone from the front desk staff to the stylists and managers are welcoming and good at what they do. If you are not totally happy with something they will fix it. I’ve been to a lot of salons in the past several years and MG strives to keep their clientele happy. Update 4-21-2016: FYI I generally do not give 5 stars to any business so my 4 star ranking should be taken with that in mind. Also, I noted a couple of past negative reviews — I find both restrooms to be immaculate, so not sure what that complaint was about. Plus, one particular stylist that was the subject of a couple of negative reviews is no longer there(easy enough to avoid booking with someone who is named anyway) so I would not consider it in my assessment. I recently had hair and makeup done for a military ball and Shauna and April did a great job in record time. It’s also just a relaxing place — I actually enjoy my trips there.

Not happy. This used to be an excellent salon. Got a bob cut which was sloppy on the ends. Then went back to have it «corrected» by their senior stylist. I showed her a pic of the one length angled bob I wanted and she said, Great, pics are so helpful, I got it. She seemed very confident. It was a disaster. She cut short layers and the ends looked chopped and sloppy. It was embarrassing. I ended up paying another salon to fix it. Now I’m waiting for these layers to grow out. Will not be going back.

This was my first and last visit to this salon. I loved my massage. However my hair stylist Dawn was not very friendly and talked to an apprentice while cutting my hair without even asking my permission. She talked about me in the 3rd person all while cutting my hair. Then left me half way and went off to pick a hair color product for another client without informing me and no apology. I had an overwhelming urge to get the hell out of the place but did not want to confront her then as it was in the middle of my expensive $ 70/-haircut. Very unprofessional. Never had this kind of unpleasant and bizzare experience from a so called experienced hair stylist. I just left the salon with a bad feeling. She ruined my day. Keep away from this hair stylist who kept boasting to her apprentice that she went to a top hair styling school 20yrs ago. Left me with a bad feeling all weekend. Did not need it at all!!! Guess she needs to go back to school to learn how to deal with clients.

This place is a joke. What kind of «spa» doesn’t have a dressing room? The ladies room. Disgusting. This place needs condemned. Murad J Crew and It’s a 10?! LAUGHABLE. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want horrible service and cotton candy textured hair. I walked in looking better than what I did when I left. Seriously lacking professionalism. Unless you are a favored«local» and like paying three times the amount of money you normally would pay while receiving services three times below ‘average’ standards. I hated my experience here and will never return. I wouldn’t recommend this place to ANYONE! Worst EVER! Tear that place down for the love of God. With floors like that it won’t be standing much longer anyhow. Owners? You should be ashamed of that Shithole and the entire staff you have pretending to run that place. Horrendous.

Went for a cut and color back in November and left $ 400 later after paying for the cut, color, and 20% tip. I don’t know what the specific price breakdown was because they give you the total at the end. I ended up having to wait 25 minutes for my scheduled appointment because I was told there was an «important» client ahead of me. Cut and color was fine, but I cannot rationalize spending $ 340 plus tip every time I need a cut and color and didn’t appreciate being treated like a second rate client.

Went here for a simple bang cut and left feeling butchered! April was a nice girl but I do not feel she has been properly trained in cutting hair. This is by far the worst bang job I have ever had. They are so short I can barely pin them back with bobby pins. Went to 2 stylists to try to repair the damage but unfortunately I have to wait for them to grow out. This is something I would expect from the Hair Cuttery or Bubbles, not here! :(

My first hightlight at Morgan Gerard was outstanding. My second several weeks ago was terrible. I was left too long under a heat lamp resulting in red and bright blond strands. The cut was good, but very very disappointed with the color. Especially since I emphasized I wanted a very natural look. Also they are charging DC rates. Should be less due to the location.

So here I sit in Atlanta, wondering if I’ll be able find an experience to match Morgan Gerard! In my search, I decided I should send a quick«shout out» to Lindsay who has been a wonderful style partner for the past few years. .. . Beginning with the warm reception and the relaxed atmosphere, we all know what it’s really about: will I look better than I did before and will it last? Yes to both. Lindsay did a fantastic job on my color, something that I fret about because I have fine hair that breaks easily. She found a better color for me, toned down a bunch of Florida brassiness and added a gel treatment after the color process that really made a difference. I have a simple cut, but with fine hair it can always go bad but I never had to worry. Lindsay listened and we came up with a plan that worked every time. Sometimes we did the whole deal and often she would suggest just the t-hilites and cut only. Plus the color continued to look good weeks and months afterwards. One last thing: Lindsay is a lovely person. I enjoyed my time in her chair and we talked and laughed as much or as little as I desired. She’s wonderful and I will miss her skill and experience!

A great place even for a dude to come and get a seriously amazing haircut. Ask for Mina, he knows how to cut hair!

For those seeking an experienced Esthetician look no further than Fran at Morgan Gerad. This was my first waxing and merely painless with fantastic results. Also, they are a full salon and spa. If you’re looking for a relaxing spa day this maybe your place. Just kick back, sip your beverage of choice & melt with one of their reasonably priced spa packages.

I hate when salons get cocky and think they are all that and throw customer service to the wind. When you pay the price and here at Morgan Gerard, you pay the price, you expect to get what you asked for when you leave. Honestly, I never used their services but both my sister and mom do or I should say did. After being regular customers, neither of them will ever refer Morgan Gerard or Kim who works at the salon. For my mom, her issue was that as a colorist, you should be able to figure out the appropriate mixture to color a client’s hair. Not only that but a good colorist should be able to deliver a consistent level of color and she never came home with the same shade and I do not me a slight difference which can be explained by how the body chemistry can impact how your hair takes color. And finally, when you take a picture in to specifically show the stylist how you would like your hair to look… sure you may not be able to get it exact or maybe need to guide the client a little… well this was my sister’s experience. First, if you can’t do the style or maybe you don’t care to then just say you don’t feel you can achieve it. But don’t leave a client with hair so short that you have to shave it when the picture clearly shows the hair touching the base of the neck. A screw up is a screw up. Bottom line, take care of your customers who have amply contributed to your business and don’t simply treat them like a walk in!

The stylist, Lindsay, rescued my awful brassy blonde hair and made it althogether much softer and nicer. I love it! She took good care of me and put all these potions in my hair to bring it back to a classy-looking color. The décor in the place is wonderful, I love the leopard print carpets at reception. I also love the fact you get a full-length gown to wear to protect your clothes — this is not always the case at other places I’ve been to. I love that you can get a drink of anything from water to wine too.(It was a bit early for wine, for me… this time!!!) I would love to come again, but the place is extremely pricey — I guess that’d be my only worry. I think I could overlook that, though, given the wonderful time I had there today. Professional to the end.

I have curly hair, which I wear naturally, and so I jumped at the opportunity presented by the $ 50 Livingsocial deal for«a deva cut and rehydration»(normally $ 100). My stylist was Lindsey. I was a little nervous because her own hair wasn’t curly, but she was knowledgeable and I quickly realized she knew what she was doing. The rehydration turned out just to be the application of No-Poo and One conditioner to my hair, not any other special process. I’d last had a deva cut approximately 4 months earlier, and she did a good job of shaping things up. My session(consultation, no pooing, conditioning, cutting, drying, final touches) lasted approximately one hour and 15 minutes. I was also impressed with the set up of the salon. It’s big and open, with lots of natural light. Although there were many clients and stylists about, I appreciated that it never seemed crowded, or hectic, or loud. Usually at a salon I can always hear what’s going at the next station and hear people coming and going. They have mini brown envelopes at the receptionist/cashier’s counter, for tips(I’d never seen that before, but you learn something new every day). When you first walk in, you are offered something to drink. Stay classy, Morgan Gerard. I didn’t realize until after I’d parked on the street(it’s in a commercial area that looks like a residential neighborhood) but the lot behind the building is their own lot for customer parking. I usually get my deva cuts in Columbia for substantially less than Morgan Gerard’s list price, but if money were no object, Morgan Gerard would probably be my go to for regular deva cuts.

Finally! Having moved to back to MD after being in CA for a few years, I’ve been in the hair stylist purgatory — stuck trying to find someone good to do my hair. I went to another salon downtown(blank and blank) because I heard it was great. Not so —(see my other review there for more info). I saw a living social deal come up for this place and I snagged it up. I needed an excuse to try out another place and this was it. I spoke with the receptionist and told her what I was looking for. She recommended April. I like natural looking highlights and a somewhat modern but not too funky cut. I showed her pictures of my hair before and have her my main complaint about the other salon — not highlighting close enough to the root so I feel like I have to redo my hair every 4 weeks instead of 8 – 12 weeks. She listened, was sweet, and most importantly — did a great job. I love my hair. Even without the living social, the place is cheaper than the previous spot. And, it’s next door to an awesome candy store. Oh and they have wine in addition to sodas, etc for during your service. Score.

I am not sure why I have not posted a review sooner since I have been visiting this spa for over two years! MG recently merged with another salon from Arnold so although there is more customer traffic, the level of customer service did not take a hit. I highly recommend Fran if you go for lashes maintenance(Xtreme), and facials. Fran is hands down, the best aesthetician I have met which explains why I have been a client of hers for over two years. During the fall season, she does a pumpkin facial that makes your face practically glow.

Been to many places in town and many are more beautiful and comfortable, BUT I really am all about the tech, their skill and personality. Well, I found it here and it’s close enough to walk! Merina nail tech is nice, real and really good! I look forward to seeing her and leaving with shinny clean nails. She hails from Romania and is greatful, appreciative and hard working. A glass of wine, a nice person to talk to, and wonderful results, what can be better.
