Great recommendations and knowledgable answers from the staff! As a slightly-taller-than-normal child-on-the-inside, looking to add to my board game collection, we were immediately attended to and directed to their games applicable to adult tastes. It’s not a game store in the geek way, but they were happy to assist fulfilling the same needs.(And hey, it worked; I picked up a card game.) The store is chock-full of goodies, but is light and bright and welcoming. It’s also not segregated into pink and not-pink, and I really appreciate that with children’s venues. The wall of Playmobil made me nostalgic and wish for more disposable income to spend on tiny cities. … Just me? I took one of the free catalogues. Maybe someone I know will have a child I can indoctrinate.

Bottom Line: This whimsical wonderland has a great collection of quality toys but the customer service left me sad. I’ve been in Franklin Toys in Severna Park a lot so today I thought I would check out the Annapolis location to see if any puzzles, brainy games, unique items or puppets were calling my name. I spent about twenty minutes wandering the aisles checking out the unique games, quality puzzles, sensible Wow toys and variety of Lego sets. Finally my eyes landed on a lovely Folkmanis bald eagle who I instantly fell in love with and named Earl. As much as I wanted to take this fuzzy, slightly plump, majestic and noble puppet home with me, I decided not to make a purchase given the lack of customer engagement here. Basically, after cruising the aisles for 20 minutes a friendly«Hello» would have been appreciated. Absent ever being acknowledged by the two ladies in this store, and being the only customer in there, I wasn’t even greeted. Franklin Toys really disapointed me today but soon my frown will be turned upside down when«Earl» arrives in my mailbox. I liked him so much that I came home and ordered him through the Internet. :-) I will give Franklin Toys another try since they have such a cool selection of stuff and run coupons. Also, I think they can custom order items for customers and they might even do gift wrap. Don’t hold me to that, but you may want to inquire about those services if they would be helpful to you. Anyway, I hope on my next visit service is a little more uplifting.
