Nicole has been cutting and coloring my hair for almost two years now. I drive from Baltimore to Annapolis just for her. I have referred multiple people to her. I found her on Instagram after seeing a girl’s hair who I loved who had transitioned from black to platinum blonde without any brassiness. She told me Nicole did her color. Nicole was able to do my ombré and than later take me to a vibrant red and take me to a short asymmetrical bob with a side cut. She works fast. People always compliment my hair and I refer them to Nicole.

I just spent SIX Minutes on hold to confirm my appointment time for today, no surprise, it is hard to get a live person anymore who is POLITE at this salon… I have been going to David Alexander for seven years, and since it has changed ownership (and especially in the last three months!!) the customer service has been HORRIBLE!!! I no longer get a warm welcome greeting when I come in, assistance with my coat, or offered coffee or water. It has become all self service and commercial, not a warm and friendly salon. The front desk staff seem tooooo busy chatting or helping others and do not appear focused. Last visit they didn’t ask if I wanted another appointment, nor did I get a receipt for my services.
Management in the past would say HELLO to their clients as they walked through the salon and ask how is everything… now they don’t even look or speak to you! At my last visit on a busy Saturday, a girl was getting makeup, I thought it was a customer, Nooooo it was one of the gals at the front desk, they were playing makeup, while their were customers waiting. very unprofessional. The hair washing is a joke… shampoo on and off… no washing!
If it wasn’t for the hair stylists that are established and talented, I would be going somewhere else. David Alexander has lost it’s SALON status, no updates to the times and Poor SERVICE… over priced for what you get.

It was the Most stressful massage I had ever had! It was very uncomfortable… Instead of having a relax and quiet time, I walked out of this place very uncomfortable and unhappy! Not worthy to try.

Spa services are awesome with Wendi. When my favorite spa stopped doing leg and brow waxing, I had a hard time finding somewhere I felt was clean and comfortable and didn’t burn my eyebrows. Here is why I highly recommend Wendi at David Alexanders: 1) She doesn’t double dip in the wax so you know it’s super sanitary; 2) Eyebrow tint actually lasts 3 weeks AND if your brows don’t need waxing, she’ll tell you so; 3) one of the few places where I can get my eyebrows waxed without getting burned; and 4) one of the best facials ever – I’ve got sensitive skin and have literally been burned in the past – relaxing and your face, neck and chest are awesome when she’s done.

I can’t say enough about David Alexander Salon. I hired these amazing ladies to do my hair and make up on my wedding day (along with my mother in law and 2 bridesmaids). I live in CA so never met them, did not have a trial before the actual day, only sent them pictures of what I wanted and communicated via email. They arrived right on time to my hotel, incredibly organized and professional. Not to mention they were hands down fantastic women and we had a blast together! The hair and make up were FLAWLESS. Breathtaking. Perfect. I am still getting compliments from those at the wedding and the pictures. They made the day beyond perfect for me. Thank you to these ladies. I would highly recommend them for any wedding services (and I am sure beyond) they are FANTASTIC!

I’ve been going to Courtney Shampaigne for several years. She is fantastic with corrective color and has transformed my hair from an over processed wreck to a consistent and healthy blonde. She’s always friendly, honest, and professional even when the salon is packed to the brim. Courtney doesn’t try to persuade or upsell and will offer a few color and cut options if you need a subtle, yet noticeable change. I highly recommend her services! I’m a Courtney Shampaigne loyalist. You will not be disappointed.

I love the place! Paige is AMAZING. I came with over processed hair and she cut and conditioned it. 3 months later, (after seeing her every 4 weeks) I had her do my bridal hairdo. She took time with me and made me feel so special. Thank you

The place was inconvenient because the door is located infront of the road.
The owner is not approachable but pretends to. The staff are overwhelmed and looking exhausted even if the day just started. Charges are too high while their works are crappy. The place does not have relaxing seats for people who waits and does not even offer free wifi for them nor charging station for tablets or any gadgets therein.

I have tried several salons in the area since moving to Annapolis in May, and this is by far the best I’ve been too. I saw Paige and she did a great job of listening to what I really wanted done with my color. She was friendly and fun throughout the appointment. I do wish she would have styled my hair more since I paid for blow dry/​style but otherwise a great job.
I also got an eyebrow wax (Not sure what her name was) but she did a great, quick job and my brows look good.

I came here on an impulse while doing some shopping in Annapolis. I hadn’t been to a salon in YEARS so I was somewhat intimidated at first. Everyone here is incredibly friendly. I had no appointment, but the receptionist fit me into the schedule, and I had a very short wait. The salon is lovely, clean, and comfortable. And the complimentary coffee/​tea/​snacks in the lobby were a nice touch. The woman who cut my hair was named Jennifer W. and she was FANTASTIC! Worked with me to understand exactly what I wanted, and made it happen. Very professional, but still super friendly! I’m in the process of growing my hair out from a very short cut I got a few months prior, that I was pretty unhappy with. She shaped it up perfectly, and now I don’t have to wear hats everywhere: P Great salon, talented stylists, all around wonderful experience. I will definitely be back!

I live in Florida.
My friend (who was living in Baltimore at the time) has been going to Jamie for blond highlights for years. My blond highlights have been routinely F-​ed up for years in many cities.
Apparently my hair takes a long time to process and is a little stubborn.
When visiting Baltimore I decided to have Jamie fix my green hair. Not only did she fix it but the color was beautiful!
Now, my friend and I both love in Florida and we fly into Baltimore for the weekend every 8 weeks or so for our blond highlights. Yes, it’s that good.
She is very accommodating and even comes in on her day off (Sunday) to get us in if she can’t squeeze us in on Saturday.
Oh, and we always love the cuts too!
Jamie is AH-​mazing, consistent, and a Hair Goddess.

Great salon. It doesn’t feel like the uppity salons of annapolis but it is really classy. I was offered drinks when I arrived, received an amazing shampoo, cut and style and paid $ less than other places. Nicole is great.

When you walk in, there are complimentary coffee/​tea/​water and sweets/​baked goods in the waiting area. The salon is spacious and open. Never have I felt cramped or uncomfortable. It is also very clean. Naturally, weekends are super busy, but Paige has always taken her time and really makes sure to perfect my look. The other stylists around her seem to take just as much care into styling, including a thorough wash and blow dry, and everyone is always extremely friendly and conversational.
I thought I would share photos of an amazing updo Paige just did for me. I got so many compliments, and it’s also awesome how other stylists are supportive of each other’s work there!
What’s also nice about the salon is that you can request different stylists based on your budget when booking an appointment. I plan to check out the spa soon but plan to keep returning to the salon. Thanks Paige and David Alexander Salon & Spa for your awesome job!

On Friday, I was the Maid of Honor in my sister’s wedding and my hair appointment at a different salon (in Bowie) went horribly wrong. The hair dresser’s style was outdated, unflattering, and she wasn’t understanding what was wrong with it or how to fix it. We were quickly running out of time, so a friend suggested we call David Alexander Salon. We called as we were leaving the first salon, and by the time we arrived at David Alexander, they were able to put me in the chair of Senior Stylist Jennifer Woods. I have short, fine, thin hair, and an up-​do is a serious challenge, but in about 40 minutes she saved the day with an amazing look that stayed in place the whole day/​night, even through pictures in hot, humid weather.
I will try to upload pictures when the wedding pictures come in! But I can’t express enough how grateful both the bride and I were of the people at David Alexander for fitting us in so quickly and of Jennifer for correcting a mess and whipping up a formal style so fast! We planned a 1.5hr buffer in our wedding day schedule and thankfully that was all we needed. THANK YOU! I would recommend this salon to anyone! They can do whatever you need (and they have free chocolates haha).

I need to start off this review by confessing that I am SUPER spastic about my hair. I always change it up and get antsy if I stay the same too long. That being said… I am also very picky about my hair. I don’t trust just any hairstylist with my hair. But I DO trust David Alexander’s stylists to do whatever. I moved from out of state and was super worried about what I would encounter. I used to go to Ashley (nearly 3 years), who just moved (sadly for me), and I even let her highlight, ombré, go red with bangs, go purple brown, and so much more. If my hair didn’t turn out how I wanted it to or expect it to, she ALWAYS fixed it so it looked better than I thought it would. She was always patient and helpful when I couldn’t decide what I wanted, and always offered some great tips.
I just saw Zack, and he was also great ! I’ve only seen him once, but I was really pleased! Everyone has always been pleasant and fun (which is great when you spend hours there).
My only reservations are the cost. It can get a little pricey… especially with color (then again, I change it up often), but the cuts are reasonable.

I have been to this salon twice now and enjoyed it. Customer service is great… People are very nice and water/​coffee/​tea is available as well as small treats like cupcakes or muffins! I really liked the haircut I got the first time i went there.
I would have given 4 stars but the reason I’m only giving 3 stars is due to my latest visit this weekend. Again customer service was great but the price I paid was extremely expensive… a 5 minute deep conditioning treatment will cost you 30 dollars… I assumed for that price the blow dry would be included but i found out as i was paying that i was charged another 30 dollars for the blow dry… so 60 dollars altogether! My friend had her hair cut and styled for the same amount!
Also keep in mind you can only tip in cash. There is an ATM available but you are charged a fee to use. This is very inconvenient to the customer… I dont know why they dont allow for adding a tip on credit card receipt.

Jenn was absolutely amazing! She worked very hard, listened, explained, and did a fabulous job. Other salons ruined my hair color and Jenn fixed it. She even stayed late for me and was in no rush to get me out the door.
It was fantastic! Highly recommended.

You know It’s hard to review a salon because it’s never really about the salon it’s about the artist that work there. And each talented is best to serve some people better than others. One favorite 5 star stylist is another worst disaster ever.
That said, I have to give kudos to DA and my colorist Stacey. Understanding the aforementioned, Stacey does my color but as much as I love her, I am off to another place to get the cut I want. But if you looking for some natural sunlight to brighten your locks she is the one!
For the salon, I can say always friendly, always clean. Coffee and water and hard candy are on hand at all times but it stops there. I must say I do enjoy a few other salons locally where wine or beer is offered. Makes you feel a bit more special and much more relaxed.

I get my hair dyed every 4 – 6 weeks, so I am looking for a salon I can stay committed to. This place felt very cold, non-​friendly, and like a manufacturing line of cliquey hairdressers. The colorists are decent. For the price, the end product is not what I am used to. My hairdresser back home finished my hair so when I walked out the door I was ready to go. At David’s– you pay $ 30 for a blow dry, just so you can walk out, and go home and rewash and style so it will look presentable. After receiving an online questionnaire from the salon, I let them know how I felt, and never got a response. Don’t solicit reviews if you can’t take constructive criticism.
For as much time and money most women spend in salons, this place is not worth either.

Finally, I found a salon I absolutely LOVE!
I have been here several times, mostly to have my hair cut and highlighted by Jen W. (highly recommended!!)
I have also had a facial by Renee, and I believe she’s also done my eyebrow wax and tinting as well in the past, and I have had my nails done by Jenny.
Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my visits — as boring as waiting for highlights to set in can be, at least I’ve been comfortable! My facial was heaven and I will definitely be back at some point for a full body scrub.
The salon can be pricey, but taking care of yourself is well worth it!
I can’t say enough good things about my experiences here. If you need a new Salon, this should be your next stop!
