18|8 Fine Men’s Salons – Annapolis

I’ve only been here one time so I’m holding back on the five stars until I’ve had a chance to go a couple of times to see how they do, over time, with my hair and beard. I understand it may take a couple of visits or so for the barber (Paul) to get to know my hair and to get it grown out and than cut well.
Having said that, I like the place. Yeah. Definitely, not the cheapest place in town but it is a nice experience and, really, I’ve been to plenty of what I call «old timey» barbershops with the back issues of Field and Stream on the table and the chairs all lined up in a row and I like the «upscale» experience a little more.
I booked online for the first appointment of the day (10am) and the barber was a tad late due to some major traffic tie-​up. I ended up talking to the owner for about 15 minutes and even though I was told that first time customers get upgraded to the «Executive Cut» I still got the «Classic Cut» I had originally signed up for.
No matter. I was happy. Everyone is friendly and personable. The owner is very forthcoming and «authentic» (2015 buzzword alert!). I hope the place does well.
The conversation with Paul was great and he had some interesting suggestions on what I might do with my hair and beard. The atmosphere and ambiance is perfect. You couldn’t ask for more.
They also text 24 hours in advance for confirmation of your appointment which I like.
Being a first timer, It’s hard to know who to ask for as a barber so you kinda roll the dice. I’ll stick with Paul. I’m sure over time, he’ll get my hair and beard down perfect.

Just had my haircut today there. Service is absolutely impeccable. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out. Paul is a truly amazing stylist and looking forward to my next haircut with him. His level for detail and eye for a good cut is not one that you should pass up!

This place has the right intention but falls down on execution.
A friend and I went to get shaves and both walked away highly disappointed. The service was suppose to be approximately 30 minutes but it took us well over an hour after getting into the chair. Beyond missing the mark on the time side the shave quality was just poor. I’m fortunate enough to get straight razor shaves a couple of times per month and this was the worst I’ve ever had. Lots of nicks and irritation were the takeaways. Plus the shave really wasn’t that close. At a dinner that same night I had several people comment that it looked like I got in a fight with my razor; clearly that’s not the goal when treating oneself to a hot towel straight razor shave.
The upside was the staff. They genuinely seemed nice with the appropriate amount of conversation and silence during the service. My only hope is that with a few more operational months under their belts they can work out the time management and shave quality shortcomings.

WOW! ¹⁸⁄₈ is a true professional pampering experience. The location was very easy to find and when I arrived, my stylist Chelsey greeted me right away with a friendly smile and handshake. I had the «Executive» cut which consisted of a relaxing neck & shoulder massage, deep scalp cleansing, haircut, shampoo/​styling, and hot towel finish. Chelsey really impressed me with her talent and professionalism throughout the appointment. I left the salon looking and feeling like a million bucks… I will definitely be returning! Great service, great people, amazing haircuts!

This salon is amazing. I would highly recommend any guy to make an appointment. I am the typical guy who goes to the walk in shops. Waits 20 minutes and gets a cookie cutter haircut. Never again. Chelsea my stylist listened to what I wanted and hit a home run. Scalp treatment and massage relaxes you. Then your hair is washed and you get an amazing cut. Finished off with a hot towel and style. The product that she recommended is perfect for my hair type and style. At the end she reviews the membership program and pricing. No pushy up sell of anything. First time in a long time my wife noticed I got a haircut when she got home. Make an appointment! You will not be disappointed

¹⁸⁄₈ Salon in a great addition to the Towne center. The service was friendly and professional. My stylist was Karen and she did a very great job and I will be returning in the near future. It nice to have a relaxing atmosphere after a days work. hot stones and massage an added plus. Check it out.

Finally! An upscale men’s hair salon in Annapolis!
I work on K Street in DC but live in Annapolis. My partner decided to get his hair cut at 18|8. He and I have been together for 27+ years. He came home with the best hair cut I had ever seen. I had been paying upwards of $ 75 -$ 100 to get my hair cut on K Street in DC. But after seeing what my partner had, I thought I’d try it too.
In looking at their price listings, I was a bit skeptical. But I made an appointment with Paul (who had done my partner’s hair). Paul is probably the most personable stylist I have ever had. We talked about what I would like as a haircut and the image I wanted to portray with that cut. Then he went to work.
But first, a neck, shoulder and scalp massage. Yes, I was putty at this point. Then a great haircut. Not rushed, but done with style. Great attention to detail. When he was through I was awestruck. It was the best haircut I have had in years!
I also added the manicure to my services. Paul did that also, but he needs just a bit more confidence in that role. But my nails and hands are fine.
No upsetting of products. That was a good bonus.
The best part is that in two weeks I can go back for a free trim. You don’t hear that for any other men’s hair salon.
For about 60% of what I would pay in DC, I got a fantastic cut, and good massage, and a good manicure. Yes, I will be back.

Brittany is fantastic and the services offered are top notch. Really makes you feel great to man pamper yourself after a tough day or week. I will definitely be going back on a, regular basis. ¹⁸⁄₈ is very much man friendly. No fufu stuff, just pure relaxation with us guys in mind
