I still think they do great work, but after some time, I have noticed some things which I feel can be improved on. This is not a complete reflection on the business, but on some of the difficulties with Eastern Medicine. First, in terms of medicine(especially herbs), it can be very difficult to procure them and the few places that sell them can either be inconvenient in terms of location or payment options(i.e. cash only). I wish South Baylo could provide the herbs themselves instead of having patients go to other places that may substitute herbs that are on the original prescription because they either don’t have the specific herb or they can’t understand what was written in the Chinese characters(this happened to me a few times, but there were no adverse effects). Second, I wish the doctors would provide options or instructions for aftercare. I have suffered from eczema for a long time, but since I have started practicing Qi Gong(a friend introduced me to it), I no longer need regular acupuncture sessions. However, the doctors did help me isolate the source of my eczema coming from excess heat, and the Qi Gong had a cooling effect. Although they helped isolate the cause and provide adequate treatment, I had to independently find an outside practice, through Qi Gong, to make significant improvement in my ailment. I would’ve appreciated it more if the doctors took more time to show me options for aftercare. I still think it’s a great place to get started if you are suffering from something that Western Medicine is failing to treat, but I feel these two suggestions could really help South Baylo become perfect.
