I just wanted to clarify that the review from Maura B. appears to be misleading, or the shop has changed its business. Per her awesome review, I called for help embroidering a Christmas stocking and someone on the phone named Dave clarified that they do not take such small jobs, only larger/several-piece orders. As I haven’t actually used the service because I haven’t had a need for commercial embroidery or several-piece jobs, I wasn’t sure what star number to choose, but I chose to be a tad more generous and give them the benefit of the doubt. I’m sure for larger orders it’s possible they do a great job!

Geek dilemma: I want Dharma Initiative coveralls from«Lost,» and I need them in a week and a half for a science fiction convention.(Shush.) Blank coveralls in hand, I started trolling the yellow pages for an embroidery service to sew my name and job on the pocket, and I found Ballyhoo, right across the street from my office in Courthouse Plaza. I brought them in, explained what I wanted, and the shop turned them around in just 3 days, more than enough time for me to rock the con. They didn’t even charge me a rush fee. David, the owner, was helpful and personable both on the phone and in person, and gave me exactly what I was looking for. In addition to custom embroidery, he can do custom screen printing, transfers, and promo items– I kind of want to go look for more things I can have him embroider because I’m so pleased. If you’re looking for a local business to do shirts for your office, Little League uniforms, mousepads with your kids on them, or any custom printing, I highly recommend giving Ballyhoo a call.
