Love this place! Even when my son has a nasty cold, the only thing he wants is their enchiladas. To go orders are quick & delicious. Highly recommend.

Don’t plan on using the coupon from Unilocal for free queso or guacamole; they don’t recognize it. I highly recommend the Tacos al Pastor; they are very good here! It’s a nice local restaurant with friendly staff.

This place was a pleasant surprise! It doesn’t look like much from the outside, so I didn’t go in expecting to be amazed. The food was delicious and seasoned perfectly. The queso was amazing! This is definitely a new favorite Mexican place of mine. Glad to have stumbled upon it since it’s right down the street.

Was not impressed with the quality of this place. Meat was not seasoned and salad was wilted and haphazard. Not going back.

This is an update to my review from 2010. I moved back to the area and gave My Estrella a shot. I had the beef fajitas. The portion size was on the not huge(less than ½lb) but, it was delicious! The guacamole tastes homemade. Everything was fresh!

Taco Bell would have been better! I hated the watery salsa. Chicken enchiladas were tiny, bland and all our beans were watered down, grey & burnt. Son ordered kids nachos which we were 1st told, by our dull waitress, were loaded. She came back & said they’re cheese & beans only & all other toppings would have to be «side items». My son said bean and cheese would be fine. What came out was a tortilla covered in cheese and then baked til burnt. No beans. Other son(7yr old) and I were still hungry after finishing. He got kids taco meal. They meant taco. 1. And it was tiny. Hubby’s fajitas were«ok» but priced higher than worth. Never again.

If your looking for a small place with a lot of yum this is it. Located in a small center the food here is on point. Oh and beans you are sure to love.

Excellent service, excellent value, homemade salsa is now my son’s favorite. Small quaint restaurant, very simple in appearance, grandiose in taste!

We decided to try out My Estrella tonight and I’m definitely glad we did! The restaurant itself is nothing to write home about– utilitarian tables and chairs and minimal décor. All of that was forgotten, though, when our sweet, friendly waitress brought over the chips and salsa. I love the more pureed salsas and this fit the bill. Pureed with bits of cilantro throughout and it had a definite spice to it! Ohhh yeah. And the chips were warm and delicious. The queso was a bland cheese dip– without any discernible spice. Dip a chip into the queso, then the salsa– problem solved! The meals we tried were the chicken quesadillas and the flauta meal. I really liked my quesadillas — just the right ratio of chicken and cheese. Simple yet perfect. My husband wasn’t that impressed with the flautas– dry chicken, he said. And if anyone cares– the corn dog and fries were gobbled up by my son without complaint.

This has to be my favorite local place to eat, and I know there are not many, but all the same. I would way rather eat here than Taco Bell. For one, they have good salsa & chips. Two, their guacamole is REALLY good. It’s hard to find good quac. Three, my stomach doesn’t feel like it is going to explode after I eat it. I used to be timid and get safe items such as nachos. Now, I get their shrimp enchiladas or their tilapia with salsa verde *angelic singing*. Without cheese, these are two relatively healthy dishes and very tasty. Their dine-in service is OK, but I mostly get take out and it is ready in 10 minutes.

We love this little family run business. Mom cooks in the back and the kids take care of guests. I also like supporting a local business and keeping some of my dollars close to home. The Salsa is unique and different. It has fresh cilantro. The chips are always warm and just the right amount of crispy. For us it is always about the nachos. Bean and Cheese and made with Taco meat are my favorites. The tradition Mexican Street taco’s made with corn tortillas, onions, cilantro, and salsa Verde are very good. Great little neighborhood restaurant!

the owner(female) is rude. Due to happening around their place i will not be back. Their food was(ok) but no the best. I still will not be back! I’ll try Vinny’s Tex Mex on 121&455 or go to the semi new one in Melissa! They will not have my business ever again. They know what they did… disrespectful!

This place is super yummy! I have been here with the hubby, as well as a group of women, and both times were great. The atmosphere is bland– bare walls with some random framed prints, basic tables, but the food! I had the steak tacos last time, and they were awesome! Love the cheese tacos too. It all tastes very fresh, plus you are supporting local business.
