We went on a busy Saturday afternoon which was a bummer because there wasn’t any seating left to sit and enjoy. In fact it was so busy, there wasn’t much room to stand while waiting for our order to come up. Everywhere I stood I felt like I was in the way. It got very frustrating and claustrophobic as we waited. On the other hand, the coffee was good, but so are a lot of other coffee places. The staff was friendly but you could tell they were rushed. The overall experience wasn’t that great.

Awesome Coffee Shop; so many different options, including different beans/roasts & brewing options. Just overwhelmed by choices(in a good way). Definitely coming again…

This place is the perfect study/meeting spot for someone like me who hates coffee, but loves a good tea or hot chocolate. I had the hot cocoa with a marshmallow and it was definitely one the best that I’ve had. If they got a Mexican hot chocolate flavor, I’d be completely over the moon. As a student I have few reasons to venture off campus for study space, but I’ll definitely be back again. Staff are friendly, the place is clean and airy, and I don’t leave smelling like coffee. All in all a win!

My favorite coffee place! Small space tucked into the back of an industrial park. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, and once you come in a few times, they’ll all know YOUR drink. Often times when I walk in, they’ll have started mine before I even make it up to the register :-) I love their Rishi Chai with almond milk. It has a much richer flavor than others I’ve tried, without being overly sweet. Their Café con Miel is also sooo good. If you’re in Ann Arbor and haven’t tried this place, you’re missing out. Be forewarned though, anything you try here WILL ruin your love for any franchise coffee drinks!

This is a great place for the coffee geek, as others have alluded to, and the coffee has always been expertly prepared. There is a great amount of knowledge here and the employees are more than willing to educate others on the various brewing methods and the different beans and degrees of roasting. They roast the beans in the back and it is great to watch the process while enjoying your espresso-based cup of goodness.

Great atmosphere and overall vibe. You can see into the back where they roast the beans. The location is a little out of the way, but if that means it’s less crowded… Huge menu to choose from; options for coffee and tea lovers alike. It’s right next to the creamery, so you can grab something to go with your drink. I had the Ceylon green iced tea — best iced tea I’ve had in awhile. Will definitely be back!

I spend a lot of time here whether its just for a great cup of coffee or having a short meeting. Staff is friendly and happy to help you discover which drink best works for you. The ambiance is great, especially being able to see the roasting happen in the back room. I will continue to drive out of my way to get the best cup of coffee in town.

While this place is located deep in the office area, I do drive by the location every morning on my way to work. During lunch time, I decided to make visit and stopped by… I didn’t realize how much property Zingerman has taken over… they have the coffee shop, bakery, creamery, training, etc. in multiple locations. So why only 3 stars? As I make more visits, I’ll have to re-evaluate my rating… so on this visit, I decided to go with tall Ethiopia and had it cremex… if you are in hurry, just get a brewed coffee and it takes time to get your coffee made… I think I waited around 7 minutes for my cup of coffee… but with so many different ways of making the coffee… waiting is good thing. The coffee I got was strong and bitter… and I’m not a fan of bitter coffee… but as I sipped the coffee… the bitter taste grew on me… There’s a lot of parking lot, it’s like a maze, but after one trip, you’ll know where things are located… the only draw back, it’s in the back back back of the office buildings… Next time I’m there, I’ll be trying other coffee they have… one cool thing… you can watch the workers in the back roasting the coffee.

Great service. Very good coffee. The individually brewed cups(with your choice of brewing method) make for a delicious cup of java. I’ve had the Guatemalan(Syphon brewed) and the Sumatran(pourover) and both were perfect to drink black. Casual atmosphere, super friendly employees. Great choice if you like exceptional quality coffee.

The coffee was good, but expensive($ 3 for a 12 oz!) There were not a lot of food options, so it’s not a good place to get breakfast.

This place is perfect for any coffee geek. As a long-time coffee addict, I LOVE this place. On most days, you can see their coffee roasting facility in action through the little window in the back. They sell and use the coffee that they roast here, so it’s super fresh. Zingerman’s Coffee also uses and sells all those fancy-pants coffee toys, like Chemex, syphons, gooseneck kettles, etc. I’ve enjoyed the café con miel, affogatos, and even the plain ol’ coffee of the day. Typical of all Zingerman’s places, it’s not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for(in a good way). The best part about this place is the education! The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to share their wisdom. They’re not really trying to sell or push any products, and are super honest about what you need, and which products/blends make a difference. If you’re a hands-on coffee enthusiast, this is a great place to see all the cool coffee contraptions in action, and pick up a couple pro-tips.

What doesn’t Zingerman’s do? But really? Their coffee bar has a delectable menu which offers coffees from all over the world: Brazil, Ethiopia, Guatemala, India, Papua New Guinea, Sumatra, and more. Not sure what to order? No problem because they have an amazing board which lists not only all of the coffees, but brewing methods and which taste each method produces. Everything is roasted fresh on-site and there’s lots of room to sit down and enjoy or get work done. –Zambian Roast(Syphon Method): just like it reads, this darker roast is earthy, chocolaty and smooth. FINALVERDICT: Great service and freshly made coffee – yes please.

I thought for sure my GPS had messed up when it sent me back into this industrial park to get some coffee. Alas, we turned the corner, and there it was! The baristas were oh-so-friendly: singing behind the counter, complimenting my bf and I on our outfits(laughable), and being über patient and sweet. The coffee was a-ok. I had a dirty chai– a little on the sweet side and light on the chai, but it was drinkable. The bf got a cup of french press dark roast. He liked it ok as well. Again, it seems to be on he pricier side, which is apparently Zingerman’s MO.

When you want the best, you’ll drive to get the best. Clearly not in the easiest nor most convenient location but who cares. These guys are masters of the bean and pursue an intense dedication to source, roast and brew the finest coffees in the world. Period. The final result– outstanding coffees, brewing methods(check out the Big Brew Board), approachable owners and knowledgeable, friendly baristas.
If you grab a seat by the roasting window, you can actually watch them roast coffee! Want to know more? Sign up for one of the brewing methods or comparative cupping classes. I did and loved it. Easy, laid back class, you’ll learn so much of what it takes to bring you your morning cup of java. Oh, one more thing, Anya makes the BEST latte I’ve ever had. Ever.

Fantastic coffee! Would you expect anything else from Zingerman’s? It’s an odd location… in an industrial park, but is worth the out of the way drive. They have a nice selection of brewed cofffee’s(and various brewing methods), latte’s(I had one, which was awesome), hot chocolates and teas… They also have a nice selection of coffee pots and other brewing devices for purchase… The Latte I had was fantastic! Rich and creamy, not too bitter, but full of coffee taste! There’s not a lot of seating, but it is neat that you can see a portion of the roasting area… Service was great(again, what you would expect for Zingerman’s). Worth a trip!
