Horrible Chinese food and horrible restaurant ! Every time I went there to grab some food, I would catch a diarrhea the day after I ate. I will never go there again !

Little food quantity, little service, expensive food, not good food taste and automatic 18% tip enforced on you. Don’t come here if you are not starved to death and there is no other restaurant 10 miles in range.

Don’ go there! The worst restaurant in the world! No service at all but charges a lot of tips! Food portion is small and tastes bad!

The taste of food is okay. First, the spicy noodles we order was over-cooked, it’s too soft. It’s a lot, but we only finished not even half of it. Grandma Braised Pork has barely less than ten pieces. And vegetables are the same way. But the price is much higher than other Chinese restaurants! Others are average. We ordered traditional Chinese food, so I hope the other items from menu are better.

I’m a Chinese, and I feel ashamed that such a terrible Chinese restaurant exists in this world. Worst service ever!

This place is a staple on campus and has all the essentials of Asian comfort cuisine. I come primarily for the bibimbap and bubble tea. Haven’t yet been adventurous enough to select from the menu in the back with Asian characters, but my guess is that people in the know are ordering from that and getting some great tasting stuff. Service is always fast and friendly, and I’ve never seen it too crowded. You get what you pay for, and given the competition of other great Asian restaurants on campus, this one isn’t a bad choice!

A-okay indeed. A little oily, I think, and the Chinese dishes are hit and miss. But the Korean«comfort food» is spot on. I would definitely come back for it. Very reasonably priced meals, including an array of delicious nibbles to get started. Fast service, too, so if you’re hungry, you won’t wait long. Great place for sharing a variety of dishes, too!

Wonderful beef chow fun. A mix of various authentic Asian cuisine. Authentic being the key word and generous portions. Have been a couple times when visiting my son and the place is wonderful.

Frankly, this place is definitely not as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be. I had the jajang myun, which was pretty good! As for the bubble tea, if you find the bubbles to be too soft, just ask for the lychee coconut jelly instead, it’s like those little Asian gelatin cups but in cut up strips; they’re quite chewy!(They do look a little strange in the cup though) The flavor of the milk tea was pretty standard, but I actually enjoyed it more so than some other bubble teas I’ve had because it tastes stronger. My only downside is that there is an automatic 18% tip included into the bill if you pay with a card. I typically tip a decent amount anyways but to auto include it on a bill creates a bad reflection upon the management. The service was fine, and quick, although I did go for lunch on a weekday, so it wasn’t quite as busy.

I visited Tianchu years ago. Recently, I have visited few times again and I found great improvement. The food is delicious. The mixed vegetables stir fry with chicken or pork or beef are really good,(with very thin slices of meat) even better than some other good restaurants) they use very good rice.(Should be short-grained rice) very soft and freshly steamed. The small dishes are good too. Bubble tea has tea favor. Maybe I am not young, so I love the soft bubbles. :-) They are being run by a family, and they open from 11:00 — 11:45 pm daily. Other people complained about the service charge added. But I would love to be fair, when we buy the coupon online, it is already clearly stated in the coupon website. We all know that is not easy to run restaurant, especially in the campus… when holidays come, most students gone. That also explains even La Marsa, Five guys closed. There may be some other ways other guests don’t like, but if we focus on the food, we should appreciate how hard people work and the chef’s efforts. The soup noodles are good too.

Not sure why the groupon crowd hates this place so much. It’s hilarious that they complain about tipping 18%. I hit Tianchu whenever I am in town. The bubble teas are reliable and necessary during the Ann Arbor Film Festival. I mostly order from the Korean menu. I had Christmas dinner there this year with my mother and was grateful for the Soon Doo Boo. The Bi Bim Bop Dol Sut is also a favorite. The dumplings and pancakes are also great. Groupon-ers stay away. Leave the rest of us to a quaint little Korean spot. I think I’ll go there now.

This place is one of the shittiest places ever! They had a Groupon for 11 bucks which would give you 20 bucks but the fine print say stable at 18% as fee. Basically what that means is you are paying full price of the meal. this is not even a deal! The lady behind the counter acted as if she was happy to skim money from me and was shooing me out the door! I would never go to this place ever again and hope I can have some followers on my lead.

So I totally understand the negative reviews. Does this place have a lot of misses? Oh yeah. But similar to how a fish will go it’s whole life thinking it’s stupid if you base it’s intelligence on how it climbs a tree, you can’t judge how good this restaurant is on the random stuff they serve. Or long story short, get their noodles. Holy moly it’s so good. The chefs are basically from northern China, which specializes in noodle and other carby goodness. The zha jiang mian is amazeballs. And the beef noodle soup and seafood noodle soups are soul reviving. Don’t waste time and stomach space on other stuff– stick to the noodles.

How I wish I could rate them 0! Bad service! Bad experience! Bad bad bad! It is the worst restaurant I ever come across! We had lunch there on our graduation day. Since we were in a rush to attend the graduation ceremony, we asked for quick meals and had their guarantee. Then we waited for about 40 minutes until the meals served! Well. They refused to accept my Groupon. They only allow one card to one bill. And they even attached about 19% service fee to the bill! 19% for lunch with such bad service! After a few weeks I ordered a take-out meal to use my Groupon voucher. They lied to my boyfriend who came to take the meal that there’s certain items only valid for this Groupon and are printed on the website. They lied just to deny my Groupon! Yuck! Now I’d rather letting the Groupon expire then coming back again! So awful!

Used my groupon. I am do glad it was a groupon or else I will be more than just frustrated and depressed . The menu looked promising not until the food came out ! The tofu with mixed veggies was floating in oil ! The lo mien and soon dubu jigae was like it came out from the pacific ocean as it carried all the salt out from the ocean waters! way too salty! but if your a person who needs a more sodium for fluid retention in your diet go for it ! What irritates me they want an automatic 18% tip for using a group on !!! I should have checked the ratings prior to getting a groupon deal !! Omg !

I went here for a hooked app deal for 1 dollar boba tea. The boba tea I received wasn’t worth a dollar. The tapioca itself was disgusting and the flavor of the tea was sickening sweet and overwhelming with artificial sweeteners. Never again.

It’s off the beaten track in Ann Arbor, but a nice local place WITHOUT a 45 minute wait as some of the fancier A2 places(and not nearly as expensive). The Bibimbap was wonderful — pretty close to what I ate in Korea. I will be back here

Okay, two stars rather than one because this place delivers until midnight, and sometimes, you want late night Chinese food. A serious flaw of many Chinese restaurants is extensive menus the chefs cannot keep up with. We ordered the scallion pancake and the kimchi pancake. The scallion pancakes were just okay — a little undercooked and looks like it came from the freezer pre-made. The kimchi pancakes were extremely questionable. They probably didn’t wash their scallions or something because it felt like I was eating sand. Also, I have never heard of kimchi pancakes made with eggs(but correct me if I’m wrong), and the eggs were barely beaten. It didn’t taste like kimchi at all. Needless to say… instant regrets.
