President Tuxedo hounded me with phone calls about having my cousin come in to be fitted after numerous times of me telling them that he was a child and we were not going to bring him in months before the wedding because with him being a growing boy, we didn’t want the size to be wrong. Well, after numerous phone calls and even a text message from one of the employees we brought him in a few weeks before the wedding. The whole tux ended up being measured wrong and he had to come back for it any way. Then, the day of my wedding at the venue his sleeve was poorly altered and comes undone and was 10 inches too long. We had to safety pin it up. We had 7 men in our wedding and only 2 of them got to leave with their tux’s the day they came in. The other 5 gentlemen all had wrong sizes and had to make two trips to pick up the tux’s. No one in the store wanted to take responsibility for any of it. We finally got a call from the district manager who was apologetic and offered gift cards to each of the gentlemen and half back on my little cousins tux whose sleeve came undone. This did relieve some of our frustration, but didn’t change what happened. I highly suggest looking elsewhere.

In my wedding, there were companies and people that made everything awesome and then there were companies and people that made me feel cheated(and somewhat dirty as a result). President Tuxedo was firmly in the latter camp. In fact, it was probably the worst company I dealt with for my wedding. I didn’t choose it, but you have to pick your battles, and my wife cared more about getting the particular tux than price or service. The first thing that really seems shady about President Tuxedo is that there don’t seem to be prices. I had a «coupon» which entitled me to a free tux and everyone else was entitled to something like $ 30 – 50 off(I forget). I wanted to know how much each different tuxedo would cost BEFORE the discount. No one would give me those numbers. I asked repeatedly and to different employees. When I asked if the tux normally costs the price they gave me PLUS the $ 30 – 50 my friends and family were supposed to get off, I got deflections but no real answers. I highly doubt that those coupons are good for anything(except the«free» tuxedo which I will get to). President Tuxedo is like a shady used car lot. Ann Arbor’s president tuxedo is even worse than others(which I will also get to). I wonder if their coupon practices are even legal… The second thing about President Tuxedo, which is even more egregious, is that the groom’s «free» tuxedo is not free. They require a $ 25 «deposit» or some trickery. You don’t get this money back(but they still call it a deposit unless you explicitly pull clarification out of them). Again, I am not certain how this is not an illegal bait and switch. I asked the spineless weasel of a manager, A***, to waive the«deposit»(on account of the coupon which entitles me to a FREE tuxedo supposedly). Nope can’t do it. Very slimy excuses about how«free» tuxedo(in writing) doesn’t actually mean free. The final, and possibly the most egregious, offense I had endured by Ann Arbor’s President Tuxedo was the outright lie I was told by the staff(all other trickery was accomplished through deflections, slimy excuses and questionable upcharges). When I came to pick up/try on my tux a few days before the wedding, I received an absolutely GIGANTIC tuxedo shirt(very billowy). I was told that all President Tuxedo shirts are«box cut» and there was no other option. Upon arriving to my wedding, my groomsmen and I got dressed together at the church. I saw two of my groomsmen had received reasonably slim cut dress shirts. They both had requested(and received) slim cut shirts. We all had used different President Tuxedo locations around the Detroit metro area. I was blatantly lied to at Ann Arbor president tuxedo in Briarwood mall. In the end, I was really unhappy to have given president tuxedo my money. They are shysters in the first degree from bait-and-switch coupons on their website to trickery and outright lies at the local store. I encourage you to avoid it for whatever event you are considering.

President Tuxedo, has great customer service, affordable pricing, and lots of styles and colors. I think its great that they have a sister company called Birch Photographers. I booked my photographers for my wedding with them at such a great rate, and was able to save on tuxedo rentals as well. The staff is always nice and helpful. Highly recommend
