I’ve been to five billion coffee shops in my time and this, so far, is my favorite in Ann Arbor. The mocha sea salt(I think it was?) was delicious! My boyfriend got the ginger molasses and loved it! I think this location should incorporate breakfast sandwiches, that would’ve been boss. Definitely coming back!

Coffee: Excellent all around Lighting: Everything you’ve ever dreamed of. Especially for those of us who struggle with Michigan winters and need maximal natural lighting to stay happy Vibes: Friendly, clean, airy Study potential: 9⁄10. It’s a very small space, so seating is limited and it can get a little load, but there are outlets a plenty and fast wifi. Location: tucked at the end of South U. Convenient, but off the main drag so it’s pretty calm. There’s outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Great people-watching spot.

Used to be great but customer service has gotten horrible. Bought a coffee, worked for an hour, left for 15 minutes then came back. Did another hour of work before the barista tried to kick me out because there weren’t enough tables. He insisted that it was irrelevant that I had bought a coffee because I left and came back. So, if you plan to step outside, make sure to buy another drink on your way back in. Customer loyalty is a lot more important than losing a few customers because you’re at capacity. Spend more time learning how a business works and less time reading Proust and twiddling your mustaches. Even better, buy more tables.

SETTING: Small place with a modern vibe. Windows that reach from the floor to the ceiling on all sides to bring in maximum sunshine. Lots of white(white counters, white tables, white ceiling). Outside seating available. COFFEE: Brown Sugar Sea Salt Latte. That’s all you need to know if you’re looking for a recommendation. Trust me on this one! Anything with bit of sweet and a bit of saltiness = delicious. Case in point: Sweet potato fries, chocolate covered pretzels, fried oreos(too scared to try this), burgers with doughnuts as buns(also too scared to try this, my heart stopped for a second). SERVICE: Self-serve. Order up front and pick it up at the front. Place finished plates, mugs, etc in the basket before exiting. IMPRESSIONS: I liked this spot. It is a bit small, so it can be tough to get a seat. It’s at an intersection, which is a good location to relax and watch people, cars, and the world go by. Sit, sip, and unwind.

I am not one to splurge on coffee, but ever since trying Mighty Good’s Cocoa Latte(in the Kerrytown location), I have not stopped. When I decided to visit the South U. location I was met by a quaint little nook on the intersection, with clean white washed walls, and a decent number of seating areas in such a small space. The large windows made for a great, well-lighted study spot, and the bartender was friendly. The Brown Sugar Sea Salt Latte that I ordered was perfectly smooth, creamy, and had a subtle hint of saltiness that complimented the coffee very nicely. Mighty Good knows how to make their coffee well, and has made every purchase worth it thus far. My only critique of the location was that it was quite small and was fairly difficult to find seating.

Great cortados in bright, open space with a 1960s modern feeling! The outdoor seating is great on a nice day.

Great coffee! Really nice space to sit and do work. Lots of seating and you can sit at the bar too. Will be back!

Simple. Tidy. Earthy. Hipster. I have a sea salt chocolate chip cookie, which is good but would be better warm, and a Costa Rican Clever Drip, which I’m told is closest to a French press. It’s a little too acidic for my preference(the barista recommended it), but it’s brewed well.

A good latte that is comforting, yet revitalizing, is sometimes hard to find. But upon my first visit to Mighty Good, I was hooked. I normally hate sea salt flavored lattes(my experience has been that the salt is too overpowering and ends up tasting like I’m sipping on sweat), but I decided to try the Brown Sugar Sea Salt Latte after looking at previous rave reviews. It was perfect. The flavor of the sea salt didn’t linger on your tongue and it blended perfectly with the creaminess of the milk and the subtle sweetness of the brown sugar. It was the most wonderful latte I’ve had. Not only that, but the service was warm and welcoming and conversational, which is just the kind of atmosphere you would want out of a small coffee shop. I’ve come back a couple times to buy some coffee beans, and the working barista helped me choose the perfect beans that had notes of milk chocolate! I’ve also been back here to have what they call a «Toast Bar» which is a small tray of two slices of either sourdough or seeded toast, and some fresh jam or peanut butter. I got the sourdough toast with strawberry-vanilla jam. It was a nice, light snack to go with my latte. One thing I noticed about previous reviews is that the temperature of the lattes was not hot enough for some people. You can always ask to have it served hotter! But know that lattes are supposed to be served at a certain temperature. I didn’t ask a barista about the temperature they serve their lattes at, but I know that there are some certain specifics in there somewhere… Anyways, I love this place, and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for the perfect latte or cup of coffee!

After debating whether to go to the library or a coffee shop, I decided to go to Mighty Good for the atmosphere even though I didn’t want coffee. I ordered a coffee and sat down, and 3 minutes later, the barista tells me, «yeah, so, we’re actually closing in 10 minutes today instead of at 7 like we usually do. Yeah, it’s not posted anywhere… do you still want that coffee for here?» No apology. Really? You couldn’t have told me 3 minutes earlier before I ordered the coffee? Then I was stuck with a coffee I didn’t want, and couldn’t go to another coffee shop with a full cup from Mighty Good. If you’re going to close early and not post it online, please do your customers the favor of telling them as they enter 10 minutes before your surprise/arbitrary closing time.

Even though I only found out about this location of Mighty Good Coffee only a few weeks ago, it super quickly became one of my absolute favorite spots on campus! The large windows, many many outlets, friendly staff, fast WiFi, and super delicious drinks are a combination you don’t find in every place. I have tried the regular latte, cappuccino, café miel, Costa Rica pour-over, and Brown Sugar Sea Salt Latte. I can safely say the Brown Sugar Sea Salt Latte is one of my most favorite drinks – ever! Such subtle, non overpowering flavors and the sweet-salty combo perfectly melds together. I have yet to try their cold brews which ive heard great things about. I will miss this place a lot when I leave Ann Arbor!!! A must-visit coffeeshop in A2.

Places like this make me wish I wasn’t leaving Ann Arbor. I ordered a café miel which is a latte flavored with honey and cinnamon. It was definitely tasty and sweet, but not overly saccharine like so many places around here which use that nasty fake syrup. I wish it was served a bit hotter, though. I also got sourdough toast with peanut butter. Did you know that sourdough bread is actually *good* for you? Crazy! Anyway, it was a nice and light lunch. The peanut butter didn’t taste all hydrogenated, so I’m guessing it’s from a local organic vendor. Mighty Good on South U isn’t large by any means but it’s a great study spot if you can find an empty seat. The baristas are helpful and attentive. Ill be back to try the sea salt latte.

One of my favorite things about Ann Arbor? Its coffee shops! I never understood why the South U area didn’t have a local coffee shop(there’s Starbucks and Expresso after all), but that was fixed when this Might Good location opened. I enjoyed the clean and open atmosphere at the shop, an absolute improvement over the last business at the location. The customer service is very good, baristas are always friendly and helpful. The most important aspect of the café, its coffee, was the best. They have a lot of roast varieties and all the brewing methods you could expect. They have an awesome cold brew that they sell bottled(my favorite), you can enjoy it with a cup of ice or take it to home. If you are in the mood for something sweet they have pastries from the local Pastry Peddler, and really good sweet signature lattes. Overall, a great experience, I visit often and recommend the place to friends.

New coffee shop that opened in December that’s conveniently located in the corner of S. University and Washtenaw. Really cozy place but limited seating, we had to stand at the counter waiting for someone to leave. Glass windows surrounds the shop opening up the place to light and a view out onto the streets. The barista was really knowledgeable and nice. I ordered the brown sugar sea salt latte, which sounds like diabetes in a cup, but really yummy and not too sweet. Can’t wait to try the other lattes!

Great coffee shop that’s conveniently placed in the South U area. Lots of choices on roasts and brew methods(pour over, aeropress, clever). Knowledgeable baristas. The brown sugar sea salt latte is also delicious for those looking for something sweeter. Seating is sparse however, with only 7 small tables and seats for up to 16 people, so it’s hard to find anywhere to sit. If they added a few more tables, this place would definitely deserve 5 stars.
