25 years ago I bought a Pfaff from Leabu at a good price for a great machine. It was a 1960s model someone traded in and continues to be my workhorse. Since then I have taken in other machines for service and repair, and have always been very satisfied with the results. They are honest and fair, telling me when a machine I bought cheap at a thrift shop was not worth fixing(I consider that a $ 20 donation to the charity), rather than take my money anyway. Another place I went fixed a machine for $ 75 that Leabu told me was not worth fixing, and Leabu was right! I have been able to give decent machines to family members because Leabu serviced them, Great service and this is the only shop I go to.

I was teaching my hubby how to sew quilts. In a freak sewing accident, he somehow dropped a pin straight down the bottomless hole in the sewing machine’s throat plate. I never realized that hole was there until that moment. How many people have actually managed to do that? So after we tried for a little while on our own, we gave up and I took in my machine to have the pin removed by a professional. It must not have been a big deal, because Leabu didn’t charge me for this very important favor. THANKS! I really appreciate being able to use my machine again! And I’m going to put blue painter’s tape on the back side of the throat plate, so that it can never happen again.

Leabu has been keeping my sewing machines running smoothly for over 20 years~ a 30 year old machine as well as a sewing machine and serger I bought from them about 15 years ago. The staff is knowledgeable, and is always ready to explain new techniques or how to adjust my machines for what I’m trying to do. Their prices are fair, and service is done in a reasonable time frame. I have never felt pressured to buy anything~I have received assistance to figure out what I want and need. The fact that they greet almost everyone who comes through the door by name says it all. They care about their customers, and the customers know that they are being well served. I was at a fabric store when someone asked for recommendations for a sewing machine repair person. I suggested Leabu, and another woman heartily seconded my endorsement. Enough said; I wouldn’t take my machines anywhere else.
