SCAMOFFICE. Do NOT go here. I only went here because she was in-network for my insurance company. The doctor is ancient and should have retired many years ago. She is very old-fashioned and I question if she is up-to-date on her continuing education. She’ll first have a «consult» with you in her office. She’ll ask you about your sexual history, which is appropriate for a gynecology visit. Then she goes onto say«You never know what men are like. You should get tested for everything.» It’s quite offensive seeing that I told her I have been with my man for 6 years. During the exam, she leaves the speculum in you while she leaves the office to grab something. She lectures you and asks«are you exercising?» when I replied that I run and do spinning, she goes onto say«not enough. do more». WTF? 8 weeks later, I receive a massive bill from St Joseph hospital. I call the insurance company and they tell me that it’s an error in coding from the doctor’s office. I call the doctor’s office, and they say that it’s their standard to run gonorrhea and chlamydia tests and that there are«signs by the scale and their waiting room» that these are done on all new patients, regardless of whether they want this or not. When I called my insurance company to deal with this, they called the office. Get this– this time the doctor’s office told my insurance company that I requested these tests. They’re a big scam, trying to nickel and dime and commit insurance fraud. Don’t go here. Pay out of network or even go to planned parenthood.

I saw Dr. Kennedy for my yearly exam because she was a) covered by my insurance and b) not too far from my work. When I walked into her office I felt like I was transported back to 1970. The equipment was old and outdated. Dr. Kennedy fit that profile, too. She did help me find a birth control pill that worked better with my body. Other than that, I got a lot of lecturing — she told me I needed to lose weight, but«no more than 1 lb a year or you’ll gain it back.» She told me «you’re not in college anymore» and I needed to change my eating habits. She even told me that my family members needed to change their diet and exercise habits before they got older(keep in mind, this is the first time she met me — she knew nothing about me or my family). All of this came from nowhere — I thought I went to see a gynecologist, not a dietitian. And to top it all off, she ended our appointment with a 10-minute rant about medicare and Obamacare — seemingly out of nowhere. She also disclosed that she’s «semi-retired» and only works to help keep her mind sharp(scary!). I will not be going back.
