I walked in for a haircut yesterday and got Meeghan. I was delighted because my friend highly recommended her for women’s cuts. She was very friendly and welcoming and she is a very good stylist. She also managed to fit me in right before her next scheduled appointment, which I appreciated very much. The only thing I am really not happy about, which happened to be a big thing for me, is how short my hair was by the end of the cut. When I sat down I showed her a picture of the style I wanted. It had bangs, face-framing layers, and was at least 5 inches past the shoulder. I told her I wanted the bangs to be a bit shorter than the picture and not too much layering because my hair type would puff with way more volume and I don’t like volume. She took note and I was happy that she listened. She then asked me how long I wanted my hair to be and I indicated the point that was at least 3 – 4 inches past my shoulder. The first thing she did was start from the back and asked me to tilt my chin down and I could just feel her chop off the back of my hair from quite high. I thought, Meh, she must know what she’s doing, I’ll let her do it. When she was done with the overall cut, she gave me my glasses back and I was shocked that my hair was only 1 inch past my shoulders. But because the deed was done, there was no use in saying anything about it. It was a great short hair cut, she did a good job with that but it was way shorter than I expected. I don’t know if she was just in a hurry to make sure she could get me done in time before the next lady or if she was just distracted talking to me but I really don’t think I asked for it to be that short. Maybe she just forgot to account for the volume from layering and cut it exactly at where my fingers indicated. I don’t know what happened. But the worse part is that I have my engagement shoot this Saturday and I was hoping to do loose curls with my semi-long hair! Now I can’t do that anymore! And my fiancé keeps saying I look like a school girl! I’m quite upset about the length. I do still recommend her because she is a great stylist. Just make sure you are very clear with the preferred length or whatever element is important to you.

Quality place for a quick, good looking haircut. Price wasn’t so bad either. I went to Terry and he was one of the nicest guys to talk to and keeps you laughing. I recommend this place for all college students on a budget and looking for a good barber to go to.

Been coming here regularly for 8 years. They do a great job. These days I go to Terry. Since I regularly see him and make appointments, he can tweak my cut to be a little better every time. Very happy

The shop has a friendly, casual feel and the employees are all friendly and nice to chat with. Went in and got a pixie and got fabulous results. Also, not too bad a price. For a shoulder length to a pixie plus a $ 10 product(20% off sale) I paid around $ 30.

I recommend this place for all the ladies who are tired of paying 50 – 100 for a simple wash, cut, and blowdry. Meegan(sp?) gave me the best haircut I have had in a while.

Easy to come in for a quick, quality haircut. Great for college students(right off campus) on a budget. Will most definitely come back.

Cheap and quick hair cut. No need for appointment. But quality of hair cut was less than OK. Hair dresser did not do what I asked for, and what she did was mediocre with no much attention to details. Bottom line if you want quick and cheap haircut and you’re not picky this place may be good for you.

I’ve been coming to Campus Barber for over 4 years and seeing Matt almost every time. I have never had a bad experience and feel the quality and prices to be very good. I enjoy coming here not only because of the trustworthy haircuts but to have easy going conversation. I’m often brought up to date on current events I’ve missed and given advice on just about anything that’s going on. I highly recommend this business!

I wouldn’t say this place is necessarily bad, but in my opinion there’s no reason to come here(for men at least), when New Age across the street does a better job for the same price.

Saw Matt upon recommendation of other Unilocaler. Showed him a picture of what I was going for, and I was very impressed with end result. Fair haircut for a fair price, would go back again. Significantly better than getting noggin’d.

I’ve been going to Matt(the owner) for almost 8 years. He is by far one of the best barbers I’ve been to. Ask for him by name, you wont be disappointed

My husband went here for a hair cut coz big and swanky slobs don’t appeal to him… it’s juz a waste of money especially if you keep your hair short that it doesnt need any styling. Anyways, it was a walk in for him so we waited not too long, maybe 10 mins or so. The stylist got him seated and before you now it he was done with his haircut. And it came out just perfect! Don’t have high hopes for this place in terms of atmosphere, cleanliness, modern décor etc etc., just step in if you don’t want to waste your moolah at another swanky place for the same service! The funny thing I noticed here was how the stylist removed hair fom my husband’s shoulder and neck area… it was a vacuum cleaner. lol Well, looked like one if not exactly!!! Go figure!!!

I recently returned to campus barber(what can I say, i’m cheap!) and met w/beth. She was great. Not too chatty, not too quiet. She asked questions to see what I wanted, didn’t try to talk me into a high-maintenance do(ok, so I am cheap AND lazy) and was really pleasant. She also offered to trim my bangs when they needed a touchup a couple weeks back! I do love that you can generally walk in and they have great prices. It’s definitely not a spa but it’s really pretty good given what you pay!

CJ has been styling my hair for years. I always get compliments on the color and the cut all the time. She is so good at color that everyone believes that I am a natural red head. Call the day of to make an appointment since I don’t think that they take advance appointments, that is my only complaint. Very reasonably priced and conveniently located.

I walked in here on day after having given up on most of the salons in town. That was 4 years ago, and I’ve been going here ever since. Nikki and Lily are really great hair stylists, and I always enjoy going to both. I’ve never gotten such wonderful compliments on my hair cut until I started going here… and that included the high brow salons around town. My only complaint is that it is a little pricey(about 20 bucks for women) but it is a luxury I am willing to pay for.

I didn’t get the privelege of getting a nice stylist when I got my hair done. She was more interested in selling me products and making my hair look more tame than I wanted it. She put teeny eensy highlights when I wanted crazy color, and gave me a boring haircut when I like very complicated, interesting cuts — especially on my «Asian» hair. I think she was way too scared to give me what I wanted. I wish she would have been honest with me. I just wound up going somewhere else and shelling out more cash(less than what she charged!) to finish the job right. For ethnic hair, I recommend Above Ground. However, if you are not as daring as I am with my hair you’ll probably love this place. Plus they are always having sales on their styling products.

I always seem to have a different person cutting my hair when I go to this place, but every one of them does a good job. Normally, I would say it’s a crap shoot to get your hair cut by somebody new every month, but I think they’re selective about who they hire. It’s a small shop, and looks crowded when you walk in, but I never have to wait long to get my hair cut.

This is a pretty decent place to get a haircut. It’s close to campus, they’re quick and friendly and the cost is typical for a bargain shop. I even had my haircut by the same person who cuts my adviser’s hair and who cut Arthur Burke’s(famed logician, philosopher, and computer originator) for the past several decades. Awesome! Of course, that’s all considering that I just get a standard Legoman-style haircut. If you want something with edgy style or that really is custom designed to your personality then I really don’t know how this place stands up. It might be great. For a standard haircut this is consistently good all around and gets a bonus for its location.

Theresa has been cutting my hair there for over 12 years. I’ve tried a few of the other stylists and all of them do an excellent, consistent job, but you know how you have your favorites. The only bad thing about Theresa is that she only works part-time and by that, I mean Fridays and Saturdays. Other than sometimes having a hard time getting who you want, it’s an excellent place to get a decently-priced haircut.
