If I could give 0 stars I would. Poor management, worst place to host frat party, overpriced drinks, smells coming from everywhere, go to the brown jug!!!

I had no clue they run a «happy hour» special every day except Sunday until 9pm with great drink specials and ½ off appetizers. Had I known I’d be there much more often! Unheard of to get discounted drinks on a Saturday night especially in Ann Arbor, but maybe I don’t make my way over to South U enough. Had a night out last Saturday and with all the drinks, shots and appetizers we ordered I thought our bill was fairly cheap! Floors and menus are sticky, food is standard bar food, but our bartenders were really nice. We’ll be back to take advantage of their happy hour pricing again.

Happy hour at this place is the best. $ 3 for pretty much anything on the drink menu is nice. Half off appetizers every day before 9pm is probably the best deal ever. Drinks are great. Food is just what you would expect from a college bar, but prices are still reasonable even if you order outside of happy hour. Overall, I enjoy visiting this place.

I’ve been here many times after Ann Arbor Social Club Dodgeball Games. It’s a college bar. The floors are sticky and the beer is cheap. Very loud.

Pretty sure whoever works there most weekdays around dinner time totally judges my boyfriend and me. Let me tell you why. Firstly, we are here more often than we should be. The reason we are here all the time: half off appetizers until 9pm. I love drinking here on the weekends or on St. Patty’s Day, but I’m here more for food than for drinks. Two pounds of wings end up being around $ 7. I liked the seasoned one a lot. I don’t recommend getting their bleu cheese — it’s watered down and almost tastes like beer batter? I don’t know what it was, just odd. I also like getting the nachos with corned beef. It’s an extra $ 3 for the corned beef, but they’re super generous with it. Also, get the fried mushrooms and anything else fried. Karaōke nights are fun here on Wednesdays or so I hear. They do trivia as well. It’s a fun place to go out while you are in undergrad!

I came here on Friday for a group happy hour and was pleasantly surprised to hear that their draft Blue Moons were $ 3! Plates of nachos, wings and onion rings were shared around and everything was tasty! Even though this place is cheap, it is not a dive. The service was prompt and friendly and the tables and floors are clean.

There’s nothing special about this college bar. The interior is in good shape and there are plenty of TVs to watch games on. Food is average bar fare. Blue Lep can be a popular undergrad hangout on weekends so be warned. It does have some great specials; however, on multiple occasions they have tried to overcharge me when I was part of a large group. Look, I get that a party of 15 is hard to keep track of– but tell us you can’t split the check or don’t offer 50% off if you’re just going to include phantom orders with the bill. They have bar trivia here on Tuesday nights but it’s not the best format in town.

Always have a great time here. Yes. It is a college bar but even still everyone is always friendly and the drinks are always good and cheap too. One of my favorite places to go on the weekends. Oh, and they surprisingly have good food too.

[3.5 stars] Leaning heavily towards 4 stars. 3.75? As a grad student, some other grad students have warned me away from South U. But I have no such worries and Friday is meant for Happy Hour. Speaking of, Blue Lep had half off appetizers and $ 4 drinks(excluding martinis). Under $ 8(plus tip), for a long island, chicken tenders and fries? I’ll bite. The food is decent pub food and my long island(Cali Beach?) was good. Was there around 3 p.m. on a Friday and it was pretty empty. They were playing the soundtrack of the 90s though and I loved it. I’ll definitely be back again. Maybe a bigger crowd will win me on the experience to being 4 stars.

Rudest staff in Ann Arbor, jump to conclusions about everything and not friendly or understanding towards costumers. LOT of better bars on south u or downtown, but not here.

My friends and I went here to view the last football game of the season for 2014 and it wasn’t too packed. We came around second quarter and there was still a good amount of tables open. I got the buffalo chicken burger while my friend got the quesadilla. The other people ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. My buffalo chicken was decent, a bit too heavy on the sauce. I just got chips since the fries were extra $. My friend was not eating her quesadilla at all and the waitress came by to ask us how we were doing with the food. I replied«It’s good, thanks!» and the waitress noticed my friend wasn’t too happy with her food and offered to take it off her bill. I thought that was really good customer service. My friend didn’t complained but the waitress still knew. I also stopped by here on a Friday night once to celebrate a friend’s 21st and this place was packed! They have outside seating too for the nice summer nights. I think this is a good place for a college bar! But I think the food can be skipped.

Great for drinks, acceptable for food. The Blue Lep has lots of cheap drinks(with tons of specials every night, Monday stands out for the«3 dollar anything» special) that are strong like a garlic milkshake. When compared to an Ashleys etc the value is strong(it may be closer to Rick’s on the spectrum but it is still far enough away from that end that you can look yourself in the mirror while there and not feel shame). The Food– this has been pretty hit or miss. The group if people I hang out with generally get the app sampler, the veg sampler, or nachos and the quality of these 3 items varies significantly from visit to visit. I tried the chips and queso once but as a supreme queso snob I have to say don’t get them. Service has been occasionally bad but in general quite strong. A few other reviews complain about it but like, you are in a packed college town bar, I’m sorry your extra dirty martini took more than 5 seconds to get to you– oh and now you are complaining about it! You’re such a Samantha… A few others have mentioned that its loud– I actually agree with this– they could take the music down a few notches and no one would complain. Here is a comparison of other options Blue Lep Vs –Brown Jug– cheaper drinks/better specials, better seating, worse food –Charleys– On average better specials but can’t compete on Tuesday Teas/Karaōke night, comparable«meh» food –Pizza House– Drinks crush, food loses –Burger fi– way more drink diversity, worse food –World of beers– is terrible/loses to everything –Ricks– obviously nothing can compete with Rick’s this is a stupid comparison

This was our group’s hang out for the FIFA world cup games. It’s not too busy during the day, so if you want to relax with a few people and brews, I’d recommend it. The appetizers are extremely well priced before 9pm. After that, stick to booze. Also probably the cheapest drafts I could find without finding myself in a grimy place. The location is excellent and $ 8 pitchers are fantastic. Upstairs is Bro’d out at night with how close frat row is, but downstairs is a little more chill if you just want to hang out with friends.

I had a pretty good time here, even though I’m not a Michigan fan ha ha. The bartender was nice and talked to our group of about 10 people for a while, even giving us free shots at one point. Thanks! The drinks were well made and the place is pretty clean inside. It can get REAL loud, almost to the point where you are shouting to someone right next to you. I did notice that the ratio of the bar is horrendous. It was probably 80 – 20 guys, and even worse there were a lot of bros. That was underwhelming and disappointing and any other adjective you could use to describe it.

Two words: BROOUT. Still, there were stiff vodka pineapples, shimmery shots, an appearance by the Michigan basketball team and their«entourage,» and just lots of the general revelry and idiocy that people envision when they imagine«college.» Anything goes here and that’s kind of what I miss about living amongst adults. My wryness is protection against crippling sentimentality at this point. I like that people here stop drinking when they’re «full» rather than when they’re drunk. Also, to all the super-sweet girls who asked what I was majoring in, thank you. You made this old shrew’s night.

If you want mediocre foods and cheap drinks… then this place is for you… two great combination that draws college kids to this establishment. The place is always jammed packed and very noisy… don’t go here if you want to have quiet place to chat with your buddies… rather go if you want to drink your stress away and don’t want to think about the next day. Another note, the place is DIRTY… thus don’t expect this place to be clean… the empty table that we grabbed had water spills, etc. and even when the waitress came by, did not wipe down for us… dropped of the menu and three set of forks when there were four people… As for food… don’t bother getting them… from what I gather, they take frozen foods, deep fry them and serve it to you… very overpriced as well… eat before you go, to enjoy the drinks.

Fun place. I like the shooters they have. Try the girlscout. If you’re trying to get drunk, the Tennessee river bomb is pretty good, and tastes like candy.

The food is okay, the bar is loud and the trivia atmosphere is not exactly great. Their PA system for trivia doesn’t work that well and doesn’t compare to other places on campus. Their pitchers are bigger than Good Time Charley’s, but for the price of GTC at happy hour, it’s way more at Blue Lep.
