Worst customer service I have ever had at a wine or beer shop. The owners are extremely rude. They know absolutely nothing about beer and do not like to support local wineries. Horrible, old selection mediocre brews and overly priced wines, blended with painfully terrible customer service make this a place I will never step foot in again.

When we first moved out to Ann Arbor there was an awesome wine shop across the street and we went there all of the time. And then it closed. We had been to Baxter’s for beer but always skipped the wine because the place across the street was so great. Now we use Baxter’s for all of our wine and beer needs. Not only do they carry a great selection, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable too. From pointing out what’s new to making suggestions based on taste, I have never not gotten help. In addition to local beers and lots of not so local but awesome microbrews, they also carry some snacks and hard liquor. I’m not one for much other than wine and beer but when having a party or simply craving a new drink recipe for the holidays, this is my go to place.

Nestled between the Grand Traverse Pie and the famous Metzger’s restaurant is Baxter’s. I would describe it as an upscale party shop. Prices are good, but not a steal. You will find quality stock, very affordable and everything in betweeen. Very eclectic selection of wine, spirits and beers. Most beers are in the coolers along with a choice whites and champagnes. They even offer a small selection of cured meats and cheeses. Perfect stop to stock your picnic basket. I personally love the little airplane bottles of liquors. Tons of variety and perfect for sampling that odd bottle of whatever without having to buy a liter to try it out. Stop in and look around. It’s a neat place.

I love Baxter’s! Their staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and are willing to look into different wines/beers/liquours you may be interested in. I don’t want to brag, but I really think my husband and I are responsible for introducing Torrentes wine to the west side of Ann Arbor. My husband and I had it at Vinology in downtown A2, fell in love with it and asked for Baxter’s to order it. It sold like crazy and now you can find it many places! Of course, I really don’t take credit for bring that type of wine to this side of town, but I do appreciate Baxter’s willingness to order some for us. I would not say they are a deli or bakery. They do have a few refrigerated cheeses and dips that would go great with wine if you are going to a picnic, but that is about it. They have a lot of really nice gift items. They have everything from unique wine bags to dishes/wine glasses to candles and wine cork holders. If you are looking for a last minute gift for a wine lover, you could find it at Baxter’s! One of the things I love about Baxter’s is how they have a variety for anything you could want. Their beers range from Miller Lite to various microbrews. Their wines range from Berringer to fine champagnes. I love how they have a variety of «trial sized» liquours to try or if you are going on a flight and want something to mix with your«complimentary» soda/juice. :)

this is a great spot, the only problem is that they are only open till 9 so often I’m buying my stuff across the street at Meijer. Anyways, great selection of imported beer and microbrews. They will order things for you special if they can get it. Also great selection of spirits and decent wine selection. Also very nice people working there.

Very good, especially for being on the freeway out in the country.
