This is the best Outback in America! I’m not a regular visitor to Outback, at least not in the last 5 years. But, I have been to dozens of them spread out across the country. The service here is the best and my server(her name escapes me) would be a 10⁄10 score. The only downside if you’re not very local, is finding the restaurant. It is easily seen from Interstate 35, but once you start driving in the maze of winding commercial development roads after exiting, it’s difficult to find among other restaurants and limited service hotels.

We have eaten at Outback so many times that we know the menu pretty well. We started off with the shrimp on the bar I. It comes with 8 shrimp, sour dough toast with a basil and tomato salad on top. Love it! Husband ordered the small ribeye with a back potato and house salad. Steak was cooked perfectly. Side of sautéed mushrooms that weren’t the best we have had but were ok. I ordered a 6oz filet with a mushroom Marsala sauce. My favorite sauce to add on steak and the filet was so tender. Service was great and located in same parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express so we could have a couple of drinks and walk back to the hotel.

Always one of my go-to options. I loved it as a kid, and I’m happy I have one close to me now. The free bread works as a decent appetizer option if you’re looking to save a few bucks, but their Bloomin’ Onion is a must have at some point. They have specialty drinks that are pretty good, but I wish they had a wider beer selection. Overall a great place for the whole family, your significant other, or to grab a drink after work.

My hubby and I have traveled and worked across the US for many years, and frequented MANY Outbacks. We love them because as a rule, they maintain a level of excellence with their steaks and consistency. This one really dropped the ball. Even the salads were different. A limp wad of iceberg with a pound of dressing on top. No veggies. The steaks were way over cooked, we both got very well done and ordered medium. Our friends ordered pork, and they said it was too tough to eat. The service was good, prompt and friendly, but I feel the meal was an epic fail. Very sad, they are always in my top 5 faves.

Located on the East side of the interstate. Tucked back and hidden away behind the Waterfront is this Outback Location. We stepped in and missed the dinner crowd. Was seated right away in a booth. You can tell right away that this is a kid friendly restaurant. Every booth and table surrounding us happen to have small children. They have lots of options in the kids menu and of course they all were pretty hyped up on ice-cream shakes they were having. We didn’t have any children with us so we ordered big kid drinks and big meals. Around the table was the pork steak, a big ol burger, a steak and fish. Everyone enjoyed their meals and our waitress was very kind to boot. The location is hidden and you almost don’t realize its out there. The establishment is well kept and it was very busy. They are a well known chain and I think they have kept up with demand very well. I might visit again down the road some time but do like other local places for my steak choices.

Had a gift card so we ventured out to try it. Sat in the bar area instead of the restaurant because it is more cozy to us this way. Staff/server was attentive and nice. Not overly nice though which was a breath of fresh air. Ordered out drinks and food and had both in a decent amount of time. Food was great and as ordered. Drinks were refilled without having to ask for them to do so. We did not feel rushed throughout our meal. Clean restaurant. Nice parking lot. We would return if given another gift card. We do not usually frequent chains like this as they tend to be overpriced for the food you are given.

Not impressed. My steak came out medium instead of mid rare. I hate to send anything back but I did. The next steak was closer to what I ordered but lacked a good sear, that’s what I love about a ribeye. I’m not sure why I went there instead of Big Steer in Altoona. I won’t make that mistake again.

Came here late with my family for dinner. Spencer was amazing! He was an awesome server and was personal like putting«thank you for your service» on our receipt as soon as he found out my husband and dad were in the service. He was friendly at attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The steak and coconut shrimp were amazing! As was the lettuce wedge salad. The blue cheese dressing is wonderful! The French onion soup is one of the best I have had. The wallaby darned drink which is a peachy addiction is phenomenal!!! And you HAVE to save room for the salted caramel cookie!!! Wow!!! Best word I can describe it!!! Overall a wonderful evening with my family. The service was great, the food was great! We will be back again!

Came here for lunch the other day. The place was dead. All of our food came out quick and hot. No complaints other than steak prices are a little high. $ 26 is a little steep. We had a younger dude as our waiter and he was awsome. I’ll stop by again and eat off of the lunch menu next time.

Took my beautiful daughter here for a daddy daughter date. I ordered the bone in rib eye and she ordered the kids sirloin. The good: 1. The kids sirloin was done correctly and was actually tender. 2. They have nice kids coloring books, those of us with kids know how important the extras for kids are 3. The caesar salad I ordered to start with was very good The bad: 1. My $ 30 bone in rib eye was so raw that it mooed. Don’t look at the pics if raw meat disturbs you… this is what they served me. I ordered it medium rare but this was straight off the meat hook… gross Now all in all they tried to make it right, they gave me a $ 20 gift card and also a card for a free appetizer so basically a free meal. I appreciate it, but I will still be honest about what I experienced on this visit. If on my next visit they redeem themselves I will update this review. hey KRUNKWICH, this is customer service, when you screw up you try to make it right so that the customer comes back again… sorry for my digression… still sore about KRUNKWICH’s staff spilling hot soup on my daughter…

Tried Outbacks new lunch hours & menu. Arrived around 1 pm. Was seated instantly. Server Jake was very friendly and attentive. There was 2 of us. We started with an appetizer of mushrooms. Very flavorful and served with a thick ranch sauce. We reached had a beer. Received the complimentary bread as you normally would at dinner. Warm & delicious. The new ribeye steak melt was less than desirable. Too much bread for the amount of steak & bacon. The smokehouse taste was overwhelming. Our meal also included a Cesar salad which was ice cold and yummy! Will definitely try lunch again only this time leaving out the melt! Their lunch menu starts at $ 6.99 with the average options being around $ 9.99-$ 11. Our total meal was $ 32.35 before tip!

Thinking about a good outback steak for 700 miles. What a disappointment. The 11oz sirloin was tough. Thought about using my pocket knife to cut it. Profit margins must be really tight. I’m on an expense account, so I’m not terribly concerned about the price, but $ 15 should buy you better beef. Service was great though. Thanks Madison!

As always, this place is great! I usually order take away for myself and my wife here. They bring it to the curb with a smile every time. This evening, I ordered a full slab of ribs with fries and my wife ordered the French Onion soup. Both were great! The ribs came out perfect and the soup was exactly as expected.

Met my wife’s sister and husband here on April 26. This was my wife and my third Outback Steakhouse we have been to. But this was our first time here. This place was WAY better then the last two Outback Steakhouses. Our meals were excellent. Our waitress Marissa L. is an excellent waitress. The only complaint was the music was to loud.

Overcrowded and overpriced. Waited almost an hour standing for a table in a packed entryway(my mistake was not leaving after 15 minutes, but we were told that the wait would be 30 minutes). The restaurant was obviously over its capacity limits and comfort and safety did not seem to be a concern for the staff. Exits and aisles were completely blocked. There was nothing outstanding about the food that you couldn’t get at any other restaurant chain for half the price. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and won’t be going back again.

Went here for the first time Friday night and it was okay. I got their crab and sirloin special and the crab was overcooked and rubbery. My steak however was cooked to perfection and had a great flavor. my friend ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms and was very disappointed. Said they didn’t have hardly any crab meat in them and they were advertised as having chunk crab. So overall okay. I would probably try again and skip the seafood which doesn’t seem to be their strong point.

I hadn’t been to Outback in quite a while. Service was timely and very good. steak was slightly under cooked, but I would prefer to have it that way than overcooked. will definitely stop again!

This Outback Steakhouse was my first time at an Outback Steakhouse establishment. It was different than I expected, I was expecting an Australian-themed Applebees. This was not the case, it is more of a steakhouse slightly Australian themed. A bit fancier than an Applebees. Our waiter was fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is not extensive so there’s is not too much pondering over the menu. Price wise it is slightly higher priced than an Applebee’s. I ordered their famous Blooming Onions which were great, but we could not even finish half of it, it is a big portion. I ordered their signature sirloin which was very good, steakhouse quality steak. My fiancée ordered the ribs which were very tender, better than some BBQ places. Overall a great place, busy but not overcrowded. Expect to pay more than going out to an Applebees, but you get the atmosphere and higher quality food and service. Not bad for a date night..

First time at an Outback ever and I loved it. Service was fantastic! Great food for a good price. The dip for the Bloomin’ Onion had a little bit too much horseradish, but I’m not that big of a fan of Horseradish to begin with. I moved to Ankeny a few weeks ago and I was a regular at Texas Road House in Ames. But now this will be my go to place. I plan on going back in the near future!
