I am at a total loss for anyone who dissents on this place. Hot dogs are grilled perfectly and eat with a snap. Fries are served in a boat and are beat eaten with a ton of salt and doused in vinegar with a toothpick. And they have real slush puppies. Not slurpeeS, slushies, but honest to goodness slush puppies. I have been coming to Connors for decades and it’s just a perfect part of summer.

Not worth it, burgers aren’t even grilled, just an easy place to get food when drinking at the beach bars. Would not recommend the high priced not so good food.

It is a hot dog stand with a lot of history. I had dogs here over 50 years ago. Not much has changed except the prices. The fries are fresh but can be greasy, burgers nothing special. I can get the same hot dogs from the meat market and cook them myself. Ice cream is good but available elsewhere so it is not special. I eat here but if I have another choice I take it.

I used to go here all the time as a kid. Good food, good prices, good atmosphere. Perfect place for a summer meal.

Been coming here for 10 years since my family has a cottage nearby and I order the same thing everytime… the italian sausage and fries. And for 10 years it has tasted the exact same… and that isn’t a bad thing! I love that meal! Anyway, if you’re anywhere near the area you must go here. I like that they still do an assembly line type business with the food and they for years now have had the expanded covered seating area. I will continue to come every summer.

After being at the beach and not wanting to spend $ 9+ dollars for one item from the Mickey Rat’s menu, we decided to stop here before heading home. The prices are extremely reasonable and inexpensive compared to the other«beach restaurants». We ordered two ‘Texas dogs’ and one order of ‘freshly cut French fries’, for a mere $ 8 total!(add in some odd cents). After paying, we slid down the line and received the texas dogs within a matter of seconds. We slid farther down to wait for our French fries. The French fry wait seemed to be a bit longer than anticipated, seeing as though there was no one ahead of us in line. Unfortunately once we received the fries, although very crispy and delicious, they were all tiny pieces, almost resembling hash browns. I would say we got the ‘end of the bag’. I needed a fork to pick up the pieces and dip in ketchup, although there were none, so I was stuck eating with my fingers. They have picnic tables with umbrellas scattered around the perimeter to offer plenty of seating. The food was filling, cheap, and convenient. I only hope next time I get full length French fries!

A Southtowns staple for decades, and rightly so. Can’t beat the location. The food is great, and not just the hot dogs(you can get grilled Sahlen’s anywhere in WNY). I usually get the Italian sausage sandwich which is juicy, cheesy and awesome. Amazing fries too. I’ve never tasted anything like them and I crave them on a daily basis. The owner is a very friendly guy, and most of the employees are too(though one was really rude to my uncle a few summers ago and he still won’t go back). Lots of bees in the seating area, though. I wish they’d set up some bee traps or something. All in all a fun place to eat.

Wow, the only thing we can say is that the high ratings seem to be the result of ravenous people who spent a day @ the beach, or perhaps hungover… remember those days? You could eat a horse… or just plain greasy low quality food. Well, we just came from home, & weren’t hungover so maybe that’s why only 2 stars. I purchased 2 Groupons [$ 20 total]. After I watched their AM Buffalo sales pitch, we looked forward to those ‘REALHOMEMADEFRIES”, and I was looking forward to the Steak-Um sandwich. It was a beautiful day, a nice ride from the burbs, but other than that, a waste of money. It was REALLY hot on Saturday, perhaps the«chefs» were too hot to bother cooking … the fries were HORRIBLE… first, they had no taste, second, greasy, limp, and we surmised that quite possibly they were deep fried in bulk and than just re-fried a few minutes to heat them up. We got 2 orders — left 1−½ orders in the trash. My Steak-up sandwich… grilled, but not crisp… SOGGY, SOGGY, SOGGY/SUPER GREASY! My husband ate the hamburger & said it was OK. He took his hot dog home. In addition, the line in line to get the food was about 12 people long, and the condiment area was TRASHED. We noticed the chopped onion was an unusual purplish color so they got the trash can as well. I know, this is a loved place by the«surfin safari”/bikini clad group… pretty much that’s who were there, and it’s just a hot dog shack… but come on… at least have decent food! Next time we have a desire to go to the lake, we’ll stop @ BK or McD’s…much higher quality, if you can understand that.

Been here a few times after the beach, this is definitely a good place to get burgers and dogs. The quality is pretty good, tastes as good as grilling on your own but you don’t gotta worry about it. This place is no frills, hotdog and burger joint with good food for a fair price. Only negative is that if you get burgers its a bit of a wait. I really don’t get why, it appears there are several workers back there? Overall: If you want some grub by Bennetts heres the place to go to!

If you’re wondering where to get some food after a day of beach lounging at Bennett Beach, wonder no more! Connors Hot Dog Stand offers affordable American-style grub: burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheeses, Philly cheese stakes as well as ice cream and shakes. You order inside in a little line that resembles a high school cafeteria of sorts, get a receipt and get your food practically five minutes later on a tray. You are then free to sit on their outside picnic tables and relax the day away with some delicious grilled fare. I ordered the double cheeseburger and an order of their delicious homemade fries(which are never frozen!). The double cheeseburger was delicious, although the patties were quite thin and there’s no option to have them cooked medium as a result. Still tasty though, but they don’t come with lettuce or tomatoes. just the grits: the patty, cheese and bun. Granted, they do have onions and pickles you can add on, but no tomatoes or lettuce. Boo! Nonetheless, this place has a lot of local character that you can tell by all the signage they have on the walls and inside the ordering room. It’s a cool spot to check out.

I went here recently after going to the beach and have to say that it definitely hit the spot. This place is a good place to get your American style food: burgers, fries, hot dogs, and milkshakes. We ordered double cheeseburgers so it took a little bit longer to get our food out but the hot dogs seemed to be jumping off the grill. It was worth the extra(2 minutes?) of wait time though as that burger was delicious! The fries were phenomenal too. We must have finished them in record time. The atmosphere is friendly with a good amount of outdoor seating. Also, parking is available as well.

It’s a must visit when you go to Angola. The cheeseburger just melted in your mouth– you wish that your waist allowed you to order 5 more. My cherry milkskake brought me back to younger days mmmmmmm. Service is quick– it’s a homerun everytime. The pickles are cut up so «cute” — you wonder who is doing that in the back.

It was a happy coincidence that I read the wonderful review about this place on Unilocal — I wasn’t trying to find this place last weekend but stumbled upon Connors and it was open for the last day of the season. This place looks as great as Katie described. They have this great seating area with big garage doors that open up for warm weather(I have included a picture) — I didn’t have a lake front weekend childhood but this place makes me want to head to the lake next summer.

When I was a kid we’d go out to Angola on the Lake to spend the Summer at the family cottage. Even if the fridge was stocked with Sahlen’s hot dogs(a Buffalo institution) it didn’t matter we wanted Connor’s. Connor’s is where you run into everyone who is escaping the Summer heat in the suburbs to Buffalo’s answer to the Riviera on Lake Erie. The Connor family owned and run the place since my Dad was a little boy and their kid’s and kid’s kid’s are still running the joint. I wanted more than anything to work there when I was a young teenager as those Connor siblings were pretty much famous in Angola. The fries doused in vinegar, Perry’s ice cream shakes, loganberry on tap, and oh those wonderful grilled hot dog’s. Makes me wonder if wonder if they are accepting applications.
