My fave brewery in NC. The nicest people there. Free popcorn! And lots of board games. Check in on Unilocal for $ 1 off pints. And I believe they do that Thursday nights too. Cheersies!

Best beer in Carolina. You have to try the Orange Session mixed with the Black Knight Hefenwiezen. The Vanilla Bourbon Porter Tea Party is also a excellent choice

Cheshire Pumpkin Ale is soooo delicious. We’ve driven all the way to this brewery many times, and it’s about an hour from us. That’s how good it is though. We’ve been to some popular breweries in Raleigh and Wake Forest but they have nothing on this place. It’s always clean, a lot of times ppl are playing games like Jenga, the bartenders are pleasant, and the owner/brewery mastermind is one of the nicest ppl you’ll meet. They offer tours of the behind the scenes stuff, but it is a small brewery so it’s not a long tour. It’s still extremely interesting! They even sell posters of original Alice In Wonderland artwork, which is the theme of this place! You must go, it’s so worth the drive.

I loved this brewery, I mean how could you not like an Alice and Wonderland themed brewery?! The beer is delicious, my favorites were the Tea Party(a Vanilla Bourbon Porter) & the Jabberwocky(I automatically think of the dance crew from MTV but this Tripel was amazing). We played a few games and hung out. Oh yeah, if you check in on Unilocal,$ 1 off the pint. Next time I will bring my growler!

Great local brewery with a family feel. I am not generally a beer drinker and I have yet to find one I don’t like. The owners are sweethearts and have dedicated their time to making everyone feel welcome. The groupon deal is AMAZING and in general the prices are very fair. I love the seasonal white knight blackberry hef and the cherry tart. Their flights are a good way to find exactly what you like. A must try!

excellent small brewery in Angier. Beer is excellent, not heavy, not watered down like commercial beers. Will do well once they become the gastropub they want to be

This brewery is going places. It’s run by a man with a vision and a day job and staffed by people who work for beer on the weekends. It’s still at the nano brewery level, so you’re not going to see big machines churning out beer on an assembly line. What you will see is a cozy man cave atmosphere in the taproom(with a vintage popcorn machine) and kind of a garage that serves as the brew house. As for the beer, this is not your typical in-your-face, I HAVEHOPSHEARMEROAR kind of beer selection. The philosophy isn’t the one-dimensional«more hops is better,» like so many other American style craft breweries. The bitterness is toned down somewhat so that other flavors can come through(read: the reason you’re drinking the beer). Each beer has different notes: citrus, chocolate, etc., but there’s still a common theme on the edge of perception that tells you who made it. I love that in beer. Per the brewmaster, they won’t be in any stores until the end of 2014 where they’ll sell growlers in Total Wine locations in Raleigh. Until then, we will keep making the hour long trip to get there. Also, for hop addicts, their first IPA is coming out in the next few months, so stay tuned.

We came in yet again, this time with the intention of getting a growler of the pumpkin ale. Needless to say we walked out with a growler, but not before having 2 pints each. Oh, and I bought a sticker. I had a pint of pumpkin ale and a pint of the Footman which was also great! The owner is just awesome. He told us all about his plans to expand, and how they’re starting to bottle beers. Please ppl, the beer here is awesomely amazing. Please support it!

Really an excellent and joyful experience! Great beer, and the staff member are very knowledgable and willing to answer any questions. Did I mention the beer… Yes, it is fantastic, and the selection is always on point. Definitely recommend anyone, with or without brewing experience, to try this place out.

Being out in the middle-of-nowhere sort of near an area of North Carolina not exactly known for its brewing prowess, I expected nothing when rolling up to White Rabbit Brewing Company. Instead, I got some pretty tasty brews and a very pleasant visit. White Rabbit really isn’t anything to look at. Like most start-up breweries, it’s located in an industrial area and shares a small strip mall space with a couple of other businesses. It’s nondescript on the outside, and not a whole lot better on the inside. It’s clean with some decent branded artwork, but the new taproom could use some investment in décor and atmosphere-building. At least it could use some more comfortable chairs, as I could barely manage to stay on the hightop chair I parked myself on. As boring as their space is, the beer and service more than makes up for it. Being young, they didn’t appear to have a very stable lineup of beers, as many of them are recipes in progress and get replaced often with whatever happens to be ready next. While everything was easily more than drinkable, and a tripel attempt was cause for a moment of savoring, there were only two beers that really stood out. Their vanilla bourbon porter dubbed Tea Party was a great entry into the style. At under 9 percent ABV, it was low enough in alcohol to actually drink more than a goblet of, which I definitely wanted to do. And the bourbon wasn’t too pronounced given the low alcohol content, which I would image would be pretty easy to do. The other outstanding beer was the 10/6ths IPA. Sweeter and maltier than some might prefer, it’s exactly what my palette has grown to love. I also hear they have a dubbel to die for, but it wasn’t on tap when I visited. To round out the experience, the brewer/owner? and the bartender were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and fun to talk to. My fiancé and I had a very nice conversation and felt quite welcome, an important quality that some breweries are beginning to overlook in the overall experience.

This was the last stop after a day in Durham and Raleigh. Started at Fullsteam then Trophy, Aviator and White Rabbit. Really a nice spot off the beaten path and everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable. Now the bad news, the beer was pretty much undrinkable. I was with a large group and we ordered 3 flights of 6 beers each. The only beer that even tasted halfway decent was the Nutbrown ale. All of the beers had the«soapy taste». Although I don’t claim to be a beer expert I do know some of the brewing issues. This can be a common problem with new breweries. I really wanted to say something but after talking to the brewmaster I determined that he wouldn’t be very open minded about such things. Nice place but need to get some«neutral» tasters to rate their beer and fix soon.

Long story short: I was spending a Friday evening south of Raleigh by myself. A friend had cancelled on plans to visit another brewery due to last-minute car problems when I was already down in Fuquay-Varina, so I decided to make a night of it. I realized that this was a perfect opportunity to try the White Rabbit, a brewery down in Angier, NC, that had been on my list for a while. The taproom is only open on Friday and Saturday nights, so I seized my chance and zipped down the road(it’s a decent way from both Raleigh and Fuquay-Varina). First off, it’s a small operation. It’s in an industrial park, and the large back room is devoted to making beer. There’s a tap room that’s small, cozy, intimate. Maybe 15 stools around a bar and a few long tables, a dart board. The owner was there, talking about his operation. This is definitely the epitome of the American craft brewing scene – folks passionate about beer, with an idea. Starting small(right now, it’s hard to get it on tap or in a growler in Raleigh, although that may change quite soon). I opted for the tasting sampler(6 glasses for $ 6). The beers were a lot less hoppy than a lot of craft brews, even the IPA. I personally like that. In my opinion, the lager stood out as very flavorful. There were also some regulars there – each with their own favorite – some picking up a growler, others stopping by for a pint. It was a great atmosphere and easy to strike up a conversation. Unfortunately, there had been a power problem due to a storm(power was out in the whole area for around 24 hours) and the beers were a bit overcarbonated(the owner apologized for that. But other than that, the beer and the atmosphere was great. It was wonderful to get to learn about the idea, the different beers in the works, the slogan«It’s time for a beer!»(great slogan for a microbrewery, by the way), etc. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

White Rabbit Brewery definitely gets five stars in my book because it does what it does very, very well. Sure, it’s not a huge, expansive brewery and yes, it is out in Angier, NC but the beer is good, the owners are friendly and engaging, and the«Alice in Wonderland» theme is killer. What else could you possibly want from a few hours of day drinking? I visited White Rabbit Brewery recently as part of a Living Social deal(I feel I’m forever driving an hour from Durham as a result of these impromptu purchases), and am certainly glad that I did. Sensing a theme common among NC breweries(looking at you, Aviator), White Rabbit is basically situated in a seemingly characterless industrial park type of setting. But don’t let that fool you! Once inside the brewery’s humble yet welcoming doors, you shall be treated to darts, corn hole(customized with the brewery’s logo), plentiful drink, and rousing conversation! The Living Social deal was pretty fantastic as it included a sampler flight of their six beers on draft, a pint of your choice, the tour, and two take home pint glasses(not filled with road beer). Given the included flight, I was indeed able to partake in all of the brews they were currently offering that day and this included a black lager, an IPA, a nutbrown ale, a Belgian dubbel, a blonde ale, and a pale ale. Oh, did I mention that the names of all the beers are somehow related to Lewis Carroll’s «Alice in Wonderland»? Pretty cool. Also, apparently the copyright on original images expires 75 years after the person who authored/fathered the image passes away. Thus, the White Rabbit peeps were able to readily use images from«Alice in Wonderland». There’s a fun fact! But I digress… The beers were seriously great. I’m partial to IPAs and their«10/6ths» IPA was not as hoppy as many of its counterparts, but executed well nonetheless. The nutbrown and pale ale were also solid. My favorite(and thus my pint of choice) was the Belgian dubbel(«Double Trouble») which was bitter yet smooth and masked the 9.3% ABV well as it was not overpowering at all. After drinking our flights and grabbing our pint of choice, we followed one of the owners, Ken, into the back room and he taught us about the brewing process. Amazingly, Ken, his co-partner, and his wife are running this brewery on the weekends while maintaining other«grown up»(aka boring) jobs. However, they clearly want to get to the point that White Rabbit can be their full time gig, and it appears as though they are well on their way with 8 local restaurants and bars currently serving their brews and some bigger names(ie, two of the Tyler’s Taproom locations) looking to jump onboard in the near future. It was quite refreshing to hear someone talk about a craft that they clearly love, and I found myself rooting for White Rabbit to succeed! Bottom line: Check out White Rabbit if you happen to be in the Angier area, and/or support them by finding out who/where is currently serving their brews and go get a drink!
