The oysters that we ordered to go were SERIOUSLY over cooked. When we asked that they be replaced, it was no problem. The replacement was already sitting there ready to go. We took them and left. They actually looked amazing and my mouthed watered all the way to the car. After eating a few tasty ones I suddenly got ahold of an oyster that tasted spoiled and rancid. Yuk. I ditched the rest of them and will NEVEREATTHEREAGAIN! Their tartar sauce was not chilled properly either cuz it was barely cold. I really wanted to like it here. While the calabash breading was golden brown and beautiful what was underneath was not.

AMAZING! That one word describes this place well! The ups: This place is inland, but has better calabash flounder than any flounder I’ve had in Calabash, NC. That’s right. It is better than the source. The breading is out-of-this-world!(and a secret family recipe) All of the other calabash seafood is pretty standard. Delicious but I wouldn’t say it is better than the fresh stuff at the beach. I know the family does their fishing during the week, last I checked this place is only open Thursday-Saturday. The lows: Nowhere to sit inside. Literally just a «to-go» place. So, not worth me driving out there and coming all the way back to Raleigh with the food. But definitely my #1 pick for when I am down visiting my parents in the area! Can be a little pricey, depending on what you order, but it is definitely worth it!
