After reading the reviews, we decided to try it out anyways. After trying very hard to be unbiased, I’ve got to say the reviews were correct. This was my first outing with the in-laws to a Chinese restaurant, A sadly will probably be our last. This place was simply embarrassing. The floors were unkept, the food temperatures were backwards on a variety of items. Lots of varieties(which is a plus), but only two or three variations in texture and taste. The Mongolian style grill was the best feature. But there were only about eight meager selections of foods to choose from and no sauces. The icing on the cake is without question udder filthiness and disgust of the restrooms. What an absolute embarrassment to this establishment. The smell was awful and there was a small pool of only God knows what creeping it’s way from under the stalls to the urinals on the floor! The cleanliness issue is an absolute necessity, and the mediocre food could use some improvement. All in all, don’t bother.

Let me put it this way; if you Love Chinese food, don’t go here. First bad thing, it’s buffet. Who knows what fecal infested finger touched the food, or who sneezed all over it. Second, it tasted nothing like any good Chinese restaurant I’ve been to. I even spit out the egg roll. I spit out the shrimp. I even spit out the damn macaroni and cheese. The only edible thing there was the egg drop soup. Not to mention my colon was very angry with me the next day. If you need a Chinese food fix and you’re stuck in Anderson, just go to Yips and order off the menu. This place is nasty and will give you diarrhea.

While there is technically a «hibachi» here, they do not cook hibachi-style on it. They do an almost acceptable Mongolian grill style with it. The buffet is not impressive in the least. It is certainly not worth being the most expensive«Asian» buffet in town.

My wife and I stopped into this place for lunch while visiting family. I was not impressed with it. The buffet food was mostly cold and generally did not taste like it had been cooked completely. After trying the buffet food, we decided to try the grill food. It was not good either. I am guessing that people the frequent this particular establishment like teriyaki because the food was covered in it. When the cook asked me if I wanted sauce I said yes, thinking he was just putting soy sauce on it like most hibachi grill places do. But no, it was teriyaki. The abundance of it made the food too sweet to eat. I would not return.

The food is not the quality of Formosa but it was still good. They had a good 1 bar selection of American food that was actually quite tasty. They had Pizza but as a general rule never expect good quality pizza at a Asian buffet. Pizza was horrible, lol but I did not expect it to be good. They had some really fluffly yeast rolls that were actually pretty darn good. The Asian food selection was very plentiful and tasty. The sauces were very authentic. The service was great however they do not keep drinks filled. They will pleasantly do it if you ask but it is not one of those places that you have another Pepsi as soon as yours is half through. They wait for the request. Other than that they were very accommodating, nice, the décor was beautiful and we enjoyed our visit.

Always a changing selection! Never a problem finding more than one thing to eat and everyone in the family is happy! Watching what you eat? Have sushi! Eat california rolls! The wasabi is Fire!

If I were able I’d rate it 3.5. It’s not in the same league as Teppanyaki in Muncie or 8 China Buffet on 82nd St, but it’s on the upper edge of «decent.» This is the location of the former China Buffet, recently remodeled to shiny newness. The first stall in the ladies’ room has a «PUSH – American Express welcome here» sign on the door. O. o Today was their grand opening, so on one hand they may need a bit to really find their feet, or this might be as good as it will be. There’s a fair selection of sushi, though kind of middle-of-the-road – face it, Anderson doesn’t have the same audience for sushi that Indy or even Muncie has. The rest of the food was pretty standard for a mid-grade buffet, kept fresh and attractive. Items of note include the fried zucchini, which was especially good(and I’m not a fan of zucchini!), with a firm, crispy outer coating and a creamy center. The golden fingers had a nice batter layer, and the barbeque ribs had an interesting sauce. I have to subtract points because the only hot mustard was the kind in packets, and even the duck sauce was in packets – at least have a bin of commercial duck sauce with the hot oil on the salad bar. The spring roll filling was tasteless, mushy, and colourless. The fried potatoes were a little over-oily. They did have palmiers on the dessert table – there’s nothing worse than a buffet without them!
