Great smoke flavor and huge portions! My wife got the the brisket plate and I had the chicken & ribs plate. Between the two plates we had more than we could possibly finish. All the meats were tender & juicy. For sides we had coleslaw, baked beans, and brunswick stew. The slaw was pretty much your typical slaw, nothing outstanding there. The beans were great — loved the flavor. The stew was a bit different than we are used to. It was pureed but I prefer to have the different components in their original form. The texture was hard to get used to but the flavor was excellent. My only minor gripe was the slow service. There was only one person eating there besides us, so I would have expected much more attentive, quick service.

Very decent BBQ. My wife and I went on a Saturday night, no crowds at all. Service was a little slow, but the lady seating people was also bussing tables and taking to go orders. Smaller menu, but that’s ok with me– know what you do best and stick with it. Ordered brisket and ribs. Large portions, the house BBQ sauce was a bit ketchupy, I’d skip it. Meat was very moist, macaroni was good, as was the baked beans.

So good! Stopped here driving from Pensacola to NJ. So glad we did. Possibly the best BBQ we have had. My son ordered the chicken platter which came with your choice of three large sides all for $ 11.95. He got the stew, fries and Mac and cheese. All good stuff. Fall off the bone chicken was great with the sweet BBQ sauce. I got the BBQ brisket which was perfectly smoked as well. I ordered the slaw, Mac and cheese and a huge loaded baked potato. Mine was $ 13.95. My 9 year old ordered the kids chicken fingers and fries. She didn’t even touch her chicken fingers because the BBQ and baked potato was so good. My wife shared with all of us and we still had a full plate of leftovers! All of the waitresses were hurrying around serving the whole restaurant and even the owner walked around, greeted every table and was working as well! Our waitress was 36 weeks pregnant! God bless her. All in all it was a wonderful dining experience. Best part, there was no cell service in the restaurant so no one was on their phone!!!

You have to try the collard greens and brisket egg rolls! I was skeptical at first, but OMG delicious!

Smoke is what BBQ is about and this place has that figured out. I stepped out of my car a quarter of a mile away and realized that I «needed» to go taste the BBQ that I smelled… Grocery shopping was postponed and we got back in the car. I really like meat that has a good smoke flavor. Out behind the restaurant there is a large smoker with a lot of Pecan and Hickory logs being chopped and burned. They smoke overnight to give their meats a really nice red smoke ring. If that appeals to you then this is a good place to try. I had the brisket sandwich and as I expected, the meat with no sauce was smoked to perfection. They have several sauces as expected and I preferred the sweet sauce that our waitress brought out in a bowl. Their Carolina sauce has too much vinegar for me. The hash was unique. Excellent flavor. Not typical. Really good though. You should try it. My wife ordered a small salad which was big enough that she shared it with me, It was made with fresh ingredients, and was a perfectly fine salad… They brought out three large slices of Texas toast for us. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The menu said that the sandwich came with fries… that would be a waste given the hash that I was allowed to exchange for. The owner stopped by and checked on us. We got into a great discussion of how to properly smoke brisket and it was apparent that he knew what he was doing. I smoke on my Green Egg on occasion and may succeed with brisket now that he has explained a few things… The place is not fancy, but it is in an old building which is one of the major tenets of proper BBQ. It is nice inside, just like a BBQ place should be.

I had heard good things about Creekside BBQ and this raised my expectations too high. The service was good and atmosphere was about as plain as you can get. Now for the food. I ordered the rib basket and I agree with some of the other reviews about the ribs being average. The flavor was good but it was not fall off the bone tender/moist. Maybe a little dried out. The fries were also average. I’ll check out the other BBQ joints in Anderson before coming back.

My family we traveling through and wanted to stop at a good barbecue restaurant that uses a real smoker for good tender meat. The atmosphere was clean, the food was great and the service was excellent! The amount of food they give for a plate was more than enough for my husband and I as we shared a plate and had some to take home. Not to mention they gave us six peaces of buttered Texas toast while we waited for our meal. I used that to test the three different flavors of barbecue they had on the table. My favorite sauce was the sweet sauce the kept in the kitchen while my husband really liked the hot and mustard sauces, his thoughts were,” it had a good hickory flavor on its own”. We ordered the pork/brisket it came with three sides they were pork –n– beans, fries, and mac and cheese. My 4 year old and six year old split the pork basket with a side of mac and cheese and they couldn’t finish it all. While my 12 year old daughter ordered ribs that that qas on the kids menu she ate everything, and left the bones dry. she had nothing to bring home :) I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a southern style Barbecue. When we got up the hostess asked if the girls wanted a sucker. they were these really different star shaped lolly pops :) it was a happy ending.

The best Bbq around! Love the ribs! And the coleslaw is the best! Owners come out and speak to customers and treat them like family! The menu offers a great variety! A must have in your belly!

You simply can’t beat the value. Pulled pork plate with 2 sides and drink for about $ 8. Enough food for lunch and dinner. Pork was tender and flavorful, beans were great, brunswick stew was good. All for $ 8.

Ok, where do I begin? Me and my Mama went here this past Saturday(5−24−14), in the early afternoon around 2 – 3 and it wasn’t busy at all when we got there. My mama ordered the catfish basket, I didn’t order anything b/c I wasn’t that hungry. We waited an unbelievebly long time considering that it wasn’t that busy and we only ordered something simple. My mama was getting very impatient b/c she was hungry and then when she finally got her food she was very DISAPPOINTED b/c A.) there was only 1 piece of fish, B.) the piece of fish wasn’t big at all especially for the price she paid, C.) she said that it wasn’t good at all! Also, INMYOPINION, the way that they take your to go order isn’t «business efficient» adding to the inconvenience of the amount of time to wait. However, I probably would give it another chance the next time I’m in Anderson simply b/c I didn’t eat, and would want to experience the bbq and the fact that our hostess was very nice and welcoming… that goes a long way for me.
