Delightful little surprise in the middle of Edgewood. Tenderloins are a must, the grilled. cheeseburger yummy and the staff extremely friendly. We are regulars now that we live nearby and will be back soon.

Some of the reviews seem to be comparing«the good old days» and not giving credit to someone trying to make a great place to eat in Edgewood. Shame on people for complaining about nothing good coming to our neighborhood and then bashing it publicly when it does! I’ve been 3 times and never had a bad experience. I’ve had the breaded tenderloin, the amazing grilled cheese burger, the chicken tender salad, the shrimp cocktail, and the blue cheese wedge. I would recommend any of those! And oh my goodness, THE ROLLs. The servers were very attentive and the bill was super reasonable. Under $ 20 each of the 3 times I’ve been there and that was for TWO people. We will make this a weekly outing and continue to support this great neighborhood addition. We loved it.

Went to the December Theatre on the Edge for its Christmas Cabaret. The food was better than the last time, and so was the show. The buffet consisted of baked ham and chicken breasts, roasted potatoes, a decent salad and very good deserts. The service was very good. Only criticism is a positive one. The show would have had a more professional ambience if the ballroom had some type of stage or raised floor rather than a piano and a few stools in the middle of the room. The artists made the best of what they had and the production was significantly better than the previous Theatre on the Edge event, and had a much larger audience.
We visited Bloomers Pub and Eatery last evening with friends from Ohio. We ordered the mahi-mahi which was wonderful! We also had an order of salmon and the pot roast which is new to the menu. Those entrées were delicious as well. The new menu is a big improvement over the Edge’s menus. My only problem was after we were finished with our meal the plates were not cleared in a timely manner, and I believe this was due to a lack of staff. I feel as if they are still going through some growing pains being a new business, but we are hoping for the best for Kyle Bloom and his new adventure.

We visited Bloomer’s for the first time last night. We’d been the The Edge a few times, but were never really impressed. But, as it’s now Bloomer’s(and we had a coupon) we decided to try it out. My husband ordered the pork Osso Bucco. This was outstanding! The rest of looked at his plate as wished we’d ordered it. I was trying to stay on the cheaper side as the prices were higher than I was anticipating for entrees. Luckily, as big as the osso bucco was he did share with us and still took some home. My only complaint with that dish was that they were served with instant mashed potatoes. I really despise instant mashed potatoes. No matter what you do to them– they are still instant. I wish restaurants would go back to real potatoes. They are not nor are they expensive. My husband will never complain about anything, however. My tenderloin sandwich was very good– hand breaded and flavorful. The soup my daughters ordered was okay, but used canned chicken. Now we know– we won’t make that mistake again. One weird thing was that my daughters burger was mushy. It was really bizarre and made the whole burger really off-putting. She couldn’t eat more than one bite. I tried it and was left with the same impression. The owner was there and was stopping by each table. He was super friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about our meal. He talked about their desserts and I’m eager to go back and try those. There are other things on the menu that sound good, I just think we made some wrong choices that evening. We will go back as we want to support local business as much as possible. More wait staff is needed– we waited about 15 minutes before we were acknowledged in any way. We also had to get our own menus and ask for tableware. My older daughter drank everyone’s beverage and no one got refills until after we’d already finished our meal. The waitress was very friendly and was doing her best, but she was serving the restaurant entirely on her own it looked like. Again, though, I think it was an improvement over The Edge. Perhaps The Edge had its heyday, but we missed it. By the time we tried it, it was nothing at all special. Bloomers has some interesting things on the menu that I want to try and will give it another shot. They’ve only been open a very short time so I am sure they are feeling things out and learning at this stage. We are very grateful for a non-chain restaurant in the area.
