Austins Hotdogs

Great alternative to Skins. Great cheese dogs. No they don’t take credit or debit. But if you ever ran a business and had to pay the fees associated with them you will understand that. The sweet tea is great! Very friendly staff.

They only take cash! We ate here once before. The food is good. But because of the cash thing we had to try another hotdog place this time. Food was better and cheaper. Go to Skins instead.

The Cheesedog and Slawdogs are out of this world. No other place in town does it like these folks. They’ve been in business for a long time under two different owners because they’re awesome. The hot dogs are priced a little steep, but not as high as certain competitors. Nice place to grab a hometown paper and catch up on the latest news. There’s also a TV. They have a good selection of soda and chips and are all about hot dogs. David, the owner, knows his business and will fix anything you aren’t happy with. I once got a soggy bun and he sincerely apologized and gave me a free hot dog plus made me another one. They also have ice cream. Great place to take the kids, great place for lunch. They close early in the evening, so not as good for dinner unless its early.

We drove through Anderson on our way to the mountains and thought to stop at a local hotdog place. We were a little turned off by the location but decided to pursue our hotdog cravings anyways. Unfortunately we had a very bad experience here. The tea was so moldy we had to toss it and the hotdogs were subpar. The only saving grace was the bagged honey bbq potato chips…

Autins Hot Dogs is located in the wayson Village Shopping Center near WRIX-​AM/​FM and WANS-​AM radio stations. They have some of the best Hot dogs in Anderson. They have won many awards for their Hot Dogs. They also have freshly baked Cakes and pies also. Very friendly Southern folks.
