I met my mom here for lunch the other day and we had a really great meal. I had the calamari scaloppini which was fantastic. I’ve never had calamari that wasn’t breaded and fried(and usually served with marinara sauce…), and I feel like I’ve been missing out. This was really lightly breaded, very tender steaks served alongside a triangular potato cake made with layers of potatoes and cheese. The blue-cheese almond starter salad was delicious, one of my favorite starter salads I’ve had. My mom had the shrimp and spinach salad which came with quite a few shrimp. Service was friendly and fairly prompt. My one complaint(and this is often a complaint of mine…)was the cost of the pasta dishes. A couple of them looked pretty good, but I wasn’t sure I could justify $ 14-$ 16 dollars on a lunch portion of pasta; the seafood dishes on the other hand seemed reasonable considering the portion/quality. I will definitely be back!

It’s a nice restaurant in a humble strip mall. That would seem remarkable but, this is Anchorage. Seems that most restaurants that aren’t downtown: are in strip malls. Anyway, I’m not big on Italian food. Which is my ethno-centric way of saying I’m not into eating out and having pasta. I know, I know, Italian food is not all pasta. Having said that, I couldn’t ignore the strong reviews for this place. I got an espresso-chill glazed cut of pork. It came with veggies and potatoes and was delicious!(I would’ve liked it spicier, but, story of my life) The meal came with bread(which is a benchmark of fanciness for those over 55, «WHAT?! It didn’t COME with BREAD? It should definitely come with bread if you’re spending that much…) which doesn’t happen all that often anymore, and was appreciated. I wanted to get dessert here but the dessert menu didn’t convince me? I feel like it was the most plain-Jane dessert menu I’ve ever seen. There were no descriptions! Just a list of items. No attempts were made to «really sell it». I usually roll my eyes when asked about dessert(not really a sweets person), but I was in a rare dessert mood!

Time after time after time I have their chicken crepes and am NEVER disappointed. Great service, good location, tidy, good service. No brainer!

I’ve been treating myself to a birthday lunch here for nearly 15 years now. The Calamari Scaloppini is some of the most tender and flavorful squid that you’ll ever encounter and probably my favorite item on the menu. Be sure to try the house-made lemon zest ice cream for a sweet and tangy finish to your meal.

Great seafood crêpe. They really stuffed it full. Not sold on the atmosphere of the place though. Good for some casual Italian.

Picked this place to try something new and local. We were celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary. We were greeted right away and seated promptly. Our server was friendly and professional. I told her it was our first visit and she then made us feel at home. She explained the specials and gave us time to look at the menu. Great selection and variety. We started with the Maple Bacon Scallops. So very Good! My Wife chose The Shrimp and Scallop Florentine. I had the Shrimp, Crab, Salmon, Halibut, Scallop Crêpe. This comes with a Salad or Soup. We chose the Caesar Salad and had fresh black pepper added table side. The dishes are portioned good and all the seafood was cooked perfectly. The sauce was flavorful and the service was excellent! We will be back and I will definitely tell my friends about this place.

My husband and I had a reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we made it as far as sitting down and ordering a beer before we asked for the ticket and left. If I were to go back… it would require the removal of their extremely rude and disrespectful hostess/waitress? Not sure what her role was but upon greeting us(without a hello or good evening) she spoke with great disdain and almost disgust for our presence. Good for her that she can be incredibly insensitive and rude and make a living in the service industry… arrogance is not becoming.

I ate here after walking out of another restaurant for poor service. I’m so glad I left the other place for this one. My Halibut was perfectly cooked, and the service was great. The atmosphere was pleasant and I certainly will eat here again on my next trip to Anchorage.

Homemade pasta was cooked perfectly and tasted so good. The Italian sausage was outstanding, wonderful flavor and cooked perfectly. The special was wild Sockeye salmon with a fresh, meaty tomato dish and it was outstanding. Bruschetta was just ok. Service was attentive. Wine by glass list was a bit limited. House bread was just ok. Balsamic vinegar and an ok(light yellow) Olive Oil are provided on the table. We skipped dessert. I will return due to the two 10⁄10 rated entrees and good service.

Please don’t let the location fool you. The food was excellent. Calamari and Seafood crêpe was filling and full of flavor. Did not have room for dessert. One recommendation, add some Italian wines by the glass. You can’t serve this great Italian food without a nice Chianti, Brunello, or Borollo.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the lunch I experienced at Campobello. At first, I was worried that Campobello was another Anchorage restaurant being given rave reviews simply in comparison to other options. Not the case. After warm, soft baked bread to begin, we received our included soup/salad. I had the bleu cheese almond balsamic salad — highly recommended. My dad had the soup — split pea & ham. Seemed like an odd choice for an upscale italian place but it was done well. My dad had the chicken crêpe which he enjoyed. I, on the other hand, had the Calamari entrée. I was BLOWNAWAY. The calamari came filet-style instead of in rings and was as tender as calamari ever has been in my experience. The sauce was unbelievably rich & well flavored — to a point of wanting to eat every last drop. They also didn’t bat an eye about my inability to have potatoes & happily subbed a huge portion of broccolini. Delicious! I was very happy leaving Campobello & will certainly be back soon.

This place is really good, despite appearances on the outside, but that’s pretty common in anchorage. We came here with a group of friends; there were six of us. We got a couple of appetizers including the calamari which was awesome! Definitely in my top 5 for anchorage. The pace of dining was a bit slow, but it was ok because we were chatting a lot. I’m not sure how if the server did that intentionally. She was a little too sarcastic, just in the border of rude, but maybe she just felt comfortable with our group. The atmosphere is nice inside, but not too arrogant. It’s really comfortable. We ended up getting a couple of bottle with dinner. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. I had the seafood crêpe and it was absolutely perfect! Better than I could have imagined! We will definitely be back!

Took my husband here for his birthday and we loved it. My husband is a bit of a snob when it comes to Italian food since he lived in Italy for 4 years, and this is the first place we’ve eaten that he’s been satisfied with the quality of food. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and personable. We sat down, ordered, ate dinner and dessert all in about an hour. I only give 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish there were more non seafood options. I had Chicken Fettuccine, it wasn’t overly cheesy like most places make it which was nice and the chicken was nice and tender. My husband had gotten a clam and pasta special that he said was great, the clams were cooked perfectly and the sauce was great. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a mid range price for great food and perfect sized portions.

Number one on my top 10. Great food hidden in a strip mall. Prices are good. Food is excellent. Service is best around. If you like Italian food, here is a bright shining star in Anchorage.

Just had supper there on a whim. I was hungry and didn’t want to cook. I called two restaurants for reservations. It was Saturday night. No problem. We got a great booth when we wanted it. When I saw the half bottle of Chardonnay I was thrilled. My husband drinks only red. So we had a half bottle each. Happiness. The salad has improved over the years. The dressing is savory and there’s a generous amount of lettuce. Good start. I ordered the Pasta Putanesca with shrimp. Delicious! I love tomatoes with olives and capers! Yum! It hit the spot. My favorite was yet to come… Dessert! Lemon zest ice cream. It is fabulous. What a great meal. I had enough pasta for lunch the next day. I enjoy eating there. An extra tip: it is easy for older people to step right into the restaurant from the parking area. My mother loves to have lunch there. She says ‚‘take me to that cute Italian place.’

The food and service were good. The Calamari got rave reviews from my dining companion though I didn’t have any. My Chicken Marsala was good but not the best I have ever had. My girlfriend’s stake was great according to her. My salad was just right. Tuesday night was dead and we got our food quickly. Overall it was a bit expensive and underwhelming for me. I am spoiled coming from Portland and NorCal so for this area it was good but if compared to something in Portland it doesn’t stand up but up here it is one of the better restaurants. Edit: I just remembered how good the desert was and bumped the rating up to 4 stars. The 3 of us shared 2 desserts. The chocolate pie and house made lemon zest ice cream. Both were excellent.

We were in Alaska in September on a road trip vacation and out of all of the places we ate while we were traveling the state this one was the best. Our food was awesome and the portions were generous enough to have some to savor later. We were just about the only people in the restaurant too so we chatted it up with our waiter. We ended up going back one more time before we hit the airport on our way home.

I had a really good first impression here. I was on foot as I didn’t have my car for the day and hoofed it across the street to go to Larry’s for lunch, but then thought, «Why not give this place a shot?» Came in and was promptly greeted by a server in a white shirt and one of those long black aprons which gave it a classy feel. I sat and ordered off the menu, even though both specials sounded great. I ordered the seafood crêpe, which was a first for me, and the blue cheese almond salad. Salad came out promptly and was perfect. So tasty, and the almonds perfectly toasted. My crêpe was super delish. Ton of seafood and veggies, all smothered in alfredo sauce. So rich. Now I will take a nap at my desk and dream of going here sometime for dinner.

So yummy! The pasta tasted really fresh and so did the added shrimp! You can really tell that the cook spent a lot of time putting hella love into making the pasta dish! I had the fresh pasta putanesca and it was seriously amazing! The portion is also a really good size, more than enough to get you full. I tried some of my fiancé’s ribeye and the flavors in it were so delicious! No need for any condiments to be added. They also offer specials on some wines. Half bottle of wine for $ 14-$ 18. The staff is very friendly and professional. I love how the restaurant has a nice cozy, romantic feel to it. Definitely great for celebrations and date nights!
