Amore’s Pizza

My original pizza place was closed today I looked on Unilocal for another pizza place to order from and Amore was next up in my area of town. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza and pepperoni with mushroom the 2 xl and 2 topping pizzas for $ 25.00. They were not good. My whole family is not feeling well from whatever the ingredient. Lucky they get at least 1 star so I can even write a review. The guy who I picked them up from seemed nice. I am a loyal customer to my joints I should’ve never went to another pizza place.

I’m somewhat of a food expert and this pizza is the cheesiest, best pizza I have ever tasted! Our family has been ordering from this family-​owned business for about 15 years and they always deliver the perfect pie. Good customer service, too!

Fast delivery, great prices and good pizza. Was traveling between anchorage and Phoenix used credit card in both places same day; so bank declined card thinking it was fraud. The staff tried to call but didn’t have cell service to give them another form of payment; well they delivered pizza anyway I have the driver another card to use and he left without verifying cars would work. No other questions took it on face value card would process. I forgot to add tip called and spoke to someone and asked to add tip and verify card processed ok. In this day and age to that trust someone would give you the correct info after a credit card was declined is amazing. Great service and they earned my business every time I have a craving for good pizza. They’re generous with the toppings and the cheese, good crust and just overall a great pie! Love them!

I’ve been a loyalist to Amore’s for over ten years. The pizza is consistently fast, fresh, delicious and affordable. They never skimp on the cheese, nor do they pile it on too thick. For me the two things that make a pizza are the crust (New York style with a little crunch around the edges) and the sauce (not chunky, the right amount of sweet & savory, and applied liberally) — Amore’s gets it right every time. And yes, we order their number two pickup special at least four times a month.

We placed our order about 11:30 pm. It arrived within the hour as promised. However, the two pizzas we ordered were wrong. I immediately called and explained the situation and the man who answered started to argue with me about what I ordered.
He then put another man on the phone who told me he took the order and I was wrong. He told me he has a photographic memory. I was shocked. I know without a shadow of a doubt I would have NEVER ordered pizza with spinach on it yet this man is telling me I am wrong! He then started to mumble something under his breath. I asked thinking maybe I wasn’t hearing him. He finally spoke up and asked if I had touched one of the pizzas. OF COURSE I HAD! I was looking for the pineapple on the freaking Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza.
They finally said they would bring the correct pizza. I asked if they could just credit my account… nope. I just wanted to call to use their credit another time. Not sure I will eat the pizza today or maybe even ever after the fight they put up. I am not sure what they may have done to it.
Here are two points to take away.
1. Don’t order here if you are in any way wanting quality service.
2. Why in the hell is a man with «photographic memory» making pizza???
Make of I what you wish. I for one will never order here again.

Really good pizza — cheesy, chewy crust, quality toppings. We order delivery from here maybe 1x a month or every-​other month and the food is always consistently good. The delivery is quick and the delivery guy usually runs from his car to our door when he arrives. The only downside is that sometimes the meat pizzas can be a bit on the greasy side, but that’s pizza for ya.

I called requesting gluten free pizza. The lady seemed sure it was she even said she asked the manager and he said it was to. Don’t be fooled it is not gluten free. They use two different wheat grains but they continued to claim it was gluten free, staff was not knowledgeable about gluten and what products contain it. But for most of you this is irrelevant and I can’t comment on their pizza as I had to send it back.

Almost strictly a takeout place, since there are only a few spots to sit down in front, and these seem to mainly be for people waiting for their order. Pizzas have a thick layer of factory white cheese sprinkled with ingredients that mostly came straight out of a can. Fairly priced for what it is.

Damn good pie! We ordered for delivery, half pepperoni, half cheese. Delivered promptly and hot. These guys are fo’ realz. Eat Local!

Amore used to have a location closer to my house, so I haven’t had it in a long time. But, I always loved ordering Amore for delivery, because it is just *so* good. Crust was perfect, toppings were just right, and definitely up there as one of my favorite pizza places. Reminds me a lot of my favorite pizza joint in my hometown. I think Amore is one of the better, high quality pizza places in Anchorage.
Delivery and customer service could be a little off — felt kind of turned off by a brusque guy when I did a pick-​up once, but eh, oh well. He still made a fine pie.

I love Amore Pizza. Not only is it really cheap, they’re open ALL THE TIME. Holidays, when you need pizza at 6 am, whenever. And I really, really like the pizza. It’s obviously not gourmet, but I’m always pleased and so far have never been disappointed. Sicily’s is good too, but I actually prefer Amore. Give’em a try! Also, it’s really not good for eating in. They have a couple tables set up, but Amore is really just for delivery and take out.
