I just finished a review about how special and what a hidden treasure the Lilly Belle was, but let me tell you for the few of us who are true Disney fans and have actually been inside Walt’s Apartment on Main Street it’s almost a spiritual experience. Walt’s apartment is on Main Street next to City Hall above the fire station. Walt originally wanted a place where he could come and spend a good deal of his time at the park and have somewhere nice to stay. I would have thought it would have been bigger and more luxurious but it was about the size of a big studio bedroom apartment and was beautifully furnished in a Victorian style with a whole lot of red included. I was lucky enough to be able to visit Walt’s Apartment on more than one occasion back in my Disneyland days. This was before it was part of a tour and before it was roped off. Back then you REALLY had to know someone and you had to have a tour guide with you to see the apartment and it wasn’t open to the general public. These days I believe they bring you into the apartment during tours but there is a velvet rope keeping you from most of the apartment. On the other hand I was HONORED to be able to actually spend some time in his apartment… I would say our group had maybe 30 or 45 minutes and got a full tour of the apartment. Being the Disneyland nut I am and the history nut I am I think the most surreal moment might have been pulling back the curtains just a little bit and looking out on to Main Street USA from behind the lamp in the window… the one they keep lit in Walt’s memory. All I could think was this was the exact spot that Walt used to look out over his beautiful park when he would wake up in the morning.(You can see that picture in the ones I uploaded.) I know it’s a bit different now, because the apartment is part of the Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps tour and they show you the apartment but its more of a museum setting… I feel very honored that I can say at one time I sat on that couch, looked out that window and even used the phone in the apartment. Out of all the cool and amazing things I did when I was a Cast Member at Disneyland, this was by far and away the most special to me. It was something that very, very few people ever got to do and I will always keep this memories special in my heart. If you are into Disney history and ever get a chance to take a tour or see the apartment, do it… it will be one of the most amazing experiences you have ever had. Thanks for all the magic, Walt. :0)

Went into the Apartment yesterday! Such a cool experience! It is very small and delicate! Decorated in roses. A couple unique gifts from Walt to Lilian are highlighted throughout. No pictures are allowed however they did allow for 1 photo the VIP host took before leaving.
