I met a friend for dinner here a couple months ago and we really enjoyed it. I don’t recall what we ordered, but the food was all very good. Prices were decent and the staff was nice. Tonight I called in an order and picked up food for dinner on my way home from work. We had Avocado Bombs, Shumai, Spicy Tuna Double Double Roll, Machu Picchu Roll and a Baja Yellowtail Roll. The total was slightly over $ 50. We ended up not eating it until about an hour later(I put it in the fridge) and it held up well during that time. Everything was great, tasted fresh, good flavors, and the portions are large. For some reason I remembered the rolls being on the smaller side, which is why I ordered three, but two would have been enough, I will do that next time for sure. My favorites were the Machu Picchu & Baja Yellowtail. The shumai was also really good, I loved the flavor of the shrimp filling. They were fried, which I wasn’t expecting, but they were very tasty and I know I will order them again. My husband loved it and asked that I bring it home again after work. I am happy to have found a good takeout sushi place!

Good food and good service. This place is family owned and it shows in the care put into the food and service. Love love love the spicy garlic edamame. Salmon sashimi is fresh and melts in your mouth as do a lot of their specialty rolls. I also enjoy the gyoza and spicy ramen.

Really tasty sashimi plate– got the medium plate with 12 large pieces for $ 25! The sesame chicken is REALLY good and fried well. Cons– no alcohol! Minus 1 star for that

Fresh and quick. Quality and service with a smile. Wonderful variety of food from sushi to ramen and more. Accommodations for all eating types except seafood ramen has beef broth. No big. Too many other choices to feast on. I wish the miso had mushrooms but it is a great miso flavor with tofu and seaweed. Happy hour is 4 – 7 and Unilocal has 10% offer currently. What a way to go. Great food and great prices and a discount. Want one of these by my house :)

Pros. They deliver. Presentation is bomb. To-go presentation is bomb. The love roll has wasabi smelt eggs. The love roll tastes like the freshest tuna I’ve ever had. And I’ve eaten tuna a few minutes after catching it. They don’t skimp on the ginger. Their rolls are amazing. The baked mussel meat is cut in half for you AND they cut the tough part off the shell so it’s easy to eat. Cons. No alcohol. But this place is so damn good that I don’t even care

I’m very pleased with the service & my food! I’m in town for Disneyland and was looking for a sushi place that delivers and has quality. Toyo Sushi & Grill is perfect! The sushi is affordable and has quality & quantity! I’m enjoying my three item bento box, salmon sashimi, small shrimp tempura, and a salmon roll — all under $ 40! This is surprising to me because all the sushi places Ive ordered from are about $ 50-$ 60. Delivery was very fast and my food wasn’t cold at all! Definitely ordering from here again when I come back to Anaheim.

I loved the sushi here. Fresh af fish and their specialty rolls are delicious. It’s small inside but it wasn’t busy at all when i went(around 5ish). Came here because I saw great reviews and because I saw a picture of Omarion in the reviews lol. I was hoping he’d break out into song, talk to me about Love and Hip hop or at least pay for my sushi. We sat right away and the food came out at a decent pace. The popcorn roll and crazy monkey were the faves and I’m getting hungry just writing about it. The price point is a little high but not crazy. Service was ok, I wish they had refilled our drinks a little more instead of having to ask every time. Employees were nice and helpful. Lots of people came in for take out orders which is smart considering the small dining area. I recommend this place for lunch or dinner for quality sushi. I’ll be back Omarion.

As soon as we left the discussion began. A three or a four?! 3.5 would be ideal. We tried 4 rolls. 2 spicy with jalapeños 2 others. Sorry I don’t remember the names any longer but that’s cause they were not particularly memorable. They were good but none were that distinct from the other. Krabmeat was in abundance which is fine with me, but all four had the same mouth feel with less crunch on the inside than I like. Ok all that said — I’d go more the route of sashimi, the fish seemed fresh. We also ordered mussels and that’s what carried that fourth star. They were so good. Well cooked, lots of meat and flavor. The fried tofu was also well done, tasty. The location: small strip mall. Roughly 10 small tables inside. TV on and specials to try.

Came here with my sister cause she said Omarion ate here. Not a big fan of sushi, but here’s what happened. HAPPYHOUR: It’s from 4 p.m. — 7 p.m. but they don’t sell alcohol so the deal is for 10% off your bill or something. CHECK-INDEAL: You get 10% off your bill ROLLS: Tried a bunch of rolls and the favorite was the monkey roll. It had mango and cream cheese in it with avocado. So good! This place is clean, small, drab, and when we arrived it was dead which means no waiting. I would give this place a try if you want to go unnoticed and have a nice dinner in peace by yourself. Say, like, if you just broke up or had a fight with your significant other and you want to get food so you don’t die or get depressed, but while driving around you hear the saddest piano keys playing in quick succession on the radio and then you realize it’s Omarion’s song Icebox and then it hits you that you’re mad, hurt and angry but you don’t want to binge on pizza at home, by yourself, like a loser, so you’re gonna binge on something healthier and just as tasty… like a Crazy Monkey roll. You can also order your food over the phone to-go.

Went here for dinner last night before an Anaheim Ducks game, It is tucked in an Industrial Parking Lot/Strip Lot about 1.5 miles off the 91 free way in Anaheim. From the pic’s and reviews, I thought it would be much larger, but it shares the lot with a sprint store, and like 3 other businesses not sure but their was not much traffic at all, but the 10 spots in the parking lot were filled so we had to park across the street at the bank and jaywalk/use the street light cross walk to get to the restaurant. Upon walking in, it is extremely small compared to what the reviews and pictures display in my opinion. I would say about 50 – 75 max occupancy, extremely lit small dine in restaurant with about 10 – 15 tables, for a wed. it was kind of empty when we walked in but, after about 10 mins, the place became ¾’s full obviously the dinner crowd rolled in :) We ordered 2 Ca. Rolls, The Washington Roll(Ca. Roll with Salmon Sashimi atop) and 2 pcs. Tuna. I tried to order the 5pcs Tuna which in fact was on the menu at a discount compared to the 2 pc. but the waiter was extremely confused when I said 5 pc. he said 2 pc. then started counting 2 and 4 saying 4 pc. I ended up with the 2 pc just for simplicity sake lol… The Sushi was ok. Tuna(Red Tuna) was cut squarish, for only ordering 2pcs you figured it could be prime/primo but no, meh, 5⁄10 compared to AYCE I have had recently… The Ca rolls were good, same with the Washington Roll. The Salmon Sashimi atop the Wash. Roll was prime! 8.5÷10 so I was happy with that roll, but the tuna could have been better and the rolls were extremely small on a scale of I can balance this pc. on my pinky or I can barley stuff in my mouth this pc. they were the latter, small, good, not delicious but kind of like store bought fresh. I was honestly expecting more per the reviews, but maybe I did not order the right items, maybe It was an off night, I may try again if in the area.

I would come here often if I lived in the area. Reminds me of this small Japanese restaurant in the Bay Area that I’ve been coming to since I was a teenager. However I’m pretty sure the people who own this place or at least everyone who I saw working speaks Korean! Don’t know where they learned to cook salmon collar like that! Anywho, would recommend Salmon collar, which is a hefty appetizer. I would eat any of the rolls on the menu from my experience there, but to be fair I only tried the in n out and a spicy yellowtail roll. I like how Bob T put it – consider it like Japanese sushi fast food, and you will be happy.

Rolls and Sushi delivered to your door — deserves a Woohoo right away! Ok, let’s get this straight — Toyo is not what I consider a Sushi Bar; it’s more of a fast food shushi/roll place. They don’t serve alcohol, and actually don’t have any type of bar to sit at! Therefore rating Toyo against actual Sushi bars is like comparing a great steak sandwich shop to a great steakhouse — both can be 5 stars given their own specific genres. I wanted to wait to review Toyo until I had actually set foot in the place — but after ordering delivery at least 4 times — I’m not sure if I’ll ever actually get in there! If you look at my other sushi reviews you’ll see that I’m a big fan of Orange Sushi and Roll — Toyo is comparable in every way — same quality rolls, a limited but decent sashimi selection, creative appetizers, and fantastic service. Our delivery orders have been fairly large — about $ 100-$ 140 each time. Ordering on the phone has been friendly and knowledgable. They have a menu online which is helpful when ordering by phone. Delivery has been on time or earlier every time. Delivery guy has been pleasant — and one time even brought us an assortment of sodas on the house. Most importantly our order has been accurate — including some of our substitutions. We always start out with a little assorted sashimi — Salmon and Yellowtail are surprisingly good quality for a roll type of place. My wife loves surf clam — nice they have it available. They also have fresh wasabi — ask for some with your order. We’ve liked all the rolls we’ve tried(about 10 so far) — generous amounts and quality rolls. We’ve enjoyed the Salmon and Hamachi collars along with all three«bomb» appetizers — avocado, jalapeño and mushroom. Of special note was the Spicy Tuna tostada — this was really good! No problem using a credit card for delivery. Just pour yourself a beer at home and enjoy pick up some great rolls at your front door. That’s «as good as it gets!»

Great sushi. Great service. Will definitely be eating here again. My wife and I were looking for a good sushi place to eat at. We found this place because of the great reviews. I am a die hard, «real» sushi lover. While my wife is less risky in her endeavors. I’d say this place is more mild with lots of fried and seared selections. They have several rolls with avocado, tuna, cooked salmon, etc. So if you love real uncooked fish sushi, this may not be the best place for you. Aside from that, it still is very good. Their service is fantastic. The waiter checked on us and topped off our drinks better than I have experienced at 4 star restaurants. Price was what you expect for good sushi. I would absolutely recommend! Next time we are in Orange County, we will definitely stop here again.

I recently move to the Anaheim area, and I was super anxious to try this spot out due to the phenomenal reviews. I have since dined in twice. To be honest, I just don’t understand the hype. Toyo doesn’t even have a sushi bar. They do not serve any alcohol(no sake with my sushi!!!). Also, upon inquiring, I found out their ramen and miso are not made fresh or from scratch. The service is mediocre. They bring out items from your order one by one, sometimes with significant gaps in between items, which leaves you wondering if they forgot about your table or not… Even when it’s not packed. As for the food, the In-n-Out roll was my favorite, and they GENEROUS with the poke. All the rolls were good; however, most were overkill. I don’t need 3 types of fish and two types of sauce on every single roll. Simplicity can be a good thing too. I felt adventurous trying all these specialty rolls, but I found myself longing for less fusion-y rolls. Yes, they have the basics… Spicy tuna, spicy yellow tail, etc but the quality of these were not what I’m used to. They weren’t wrapped very well and tasted too much like mayo. It’s hard for me to find a spicy tuna roll I don’t like, but I found one at Toyo. I couldn’t even get myself to eat more than one piece of the spicy yellowtail. I’ve been to about 15 – 20 sushi joints in the OC area, 4 – 5 of which I consider myself a regular, and Toyo is as mediocre as it gets, in my opinion. I’ll stick to Ohshima or Hotto, but perhaps I’ll come back for the In-N-Out and spicy edamame when I want to stay in the Anaheim area.

My friend suggested that we check out this sushi place for happy hour prices(I believe a 10% discount). Although not a big discount, it was still worth it for the sushi quality. I have not had anything here that has been bad so far. Everything I have had here has been excellent! My only minor complaint is that they do not serve alcohol. I recommend ordering the seaweed salad as a starter, love roll, amiga roll, salmon killer roll, in n out roll and the list goes on. Their edamame is standard, and they are generous with providing extra ginger, spicy mayo(my favorite) and everything else. They provide great customer service and prepare quality rolls in a fresh environment. This is not an ideal place for a large group, but I am sure you could make some arrangements. Parking is easy in the lot directly behind the place. Can’t wait to go back again soon!

Super impressed with Toyo. My boyfriend and I were excited to try it and couldn’t believe all the 5 star reviews on Unilocal.Toyo completely exceeded my expectations. We came in around 6:30PM hoping to catch the end of the happy hour deal!(check in on Unilocal) *Side Note — noticed some pretty good lunch specials(served before 3PM)* Our waiters were super friendly and attentive. And the food came out pretty fast. We ordered the salmon lover roll and it was so good. I would order this again if i came back, however, the portion was a little small. We also ordered a 3 item bento box with teriyaki chicken, spicy chicken and the spicy tuna roll. The only complaint I had about this was the spicy chicken could be a little crispier, probably wouldn’t order this item again. Became my new favorite over Orange Roll for fast dining sushi!

The service alone is five stars! As we walked in and sat the staff was very attentive, very polite, and informative. They were very accommodating and eager to serve. Gave us a great first impression. Food. The important part. The food is delicious! It was easy to choose because every roll had a picture, something great for bringing in non-sushi-eating friends and relatives. The food was fresh and the plating was beautiful. We also got the mochi ice cream with fried oreo which is out of this world! I would absolutely come back and be a regular if each experience was like this time! Enjoy your sushi!
