June 2015, being my first visit here playing tour guide for Nadine C, became a show watching her take down 4 of these little popbars. I may have taken down a few myself. My most recent visit on January 17, 2016 wasn’t a coincidence at all. I wanted to grab dinner here but it would have been between the KettleBar Steam Cooking place or The Kroft. I have been to the KettleBar once already but everyone keeps talking about the pig at The Kroft. What better way to top it off with not one but two popbars. Gianduia, I had to look that up but do you know what that is? Gianduia is a sweet chocolate spread containing about 30% hazelnut paste. I decided to get the gianduia half dipped in dark chocolate then covered with coconut and waffle cone bits. Sometimes being indecisive helps with suggestions. The girl helping me said the waffle cone bits have been really popular. Perhaps I’m a little bit of a waffles snob, it was just ok. So that brings me to my next selection. I wanted to get the almond half dipped in dark chocolate and covered with chocolate sprinkles on one side, half dipped in caramel and covered with pistachio on the other side. That seemed like a more redeeming popbar after the first one. Not because I didn’t like the chocolate but the fact that the waffle cone bits was the most popular choice and that totally sucked. For the prices and a stamp card, you can come here and trace our steps. Eat more than one popbar or you can be just as content with just one popbar. Just make sure you know what you want to order and stop holding up the line because you haven’t made up your mind. That was just a Public Broadcast Announcement for those who didn’t want to say it out loud. Thank you.

I mean it has 1,400+ reviews and hasn’t even been here two years. That Alone is impressive. I’ve waited longer for pop bar than probably at Disneyland for an attraction. But… It’s so worth it! They offer a variety of different options and all are fantastic. I love the smooth flavors so the almond or green tea are usually my go to! Expect a wait, but then expect it to exceed expectations for a normal ice cream bar or Popsicle.

This place is so good! The first time I went, there was a huge line out the door. Luckily the other few times I’ve been it wasn’t as bad. I’ve tried the coconut, hazelnut and pistachio bars and all have been amazing! Each time I ask them what they recommend as toppings, which has never disappointed. The coconut bar tasted just like the samoa girl scout cookies after the toppings and the hazelnut bar tasted just like a Ferrero rocher after the toppings. I try to stop by everything I’m at the packing house to try something new!

Delicious! A few tips: — Must have your popsicle dipped in chocolate, it’s the only way. — Get there before the lines get crazy or wait the 30 min! — Go to the Anaheim Packing house for dinner beforehand, so many great choices. — Parking can be crazy on the weekend but you can park a few streets away and walk in!

The hype is real with this one, presentation sells it. For $ 5+ with toppings, I think it’s a bit overpriced. Maybe I just had high expectation when I first tried it but I wasn’t impressed. There were many dessert places I bookmarked to try, I’m sure I can find something better. But hey at least I get to pop my Popbar hype cherry.

Hmm… A place where you get to customize your Popsicle? How fun. You choose your own flavor of Popsicle like almond, strawberry, green tea, vanilla, or whatever you want! There’s plenty of choices. Next, you choose your type of chocolate: dark, milk, white. Your Popsicle can be half dipped, fully dipped, or drizzled with chocolate. You also get to choose different toppings like hazelnuts, almonds, coconut shreds, and more. What do you end up with? You get a pretty little Popsicle that has all the toppings you like. Visually appealing and tasty! It is a $ 5 Popsicle which can arguably be considered pricy but you’re getting many options of different toppings and it doesn’t look like what you can buy at Safeway or CVS. Careful though! It melts fast in the heat so either stay in the shade when you eat it or eat quickly!

So fresh and tasty. Sure this place is a gimmick, but they really do have a product worth trying. I went here on a weekday and that meant less people in line and greater service. The person behind the counter helped me pick out my toppings. I picked the pineapple pop, but would have never thought of adding coconut and white chocolate. Genius. A wonderful combination. The pineapple tasted completely fresh, like it was cut from the plant a second before. I wouldn’t necessary come back here each time I’m craving ice cream, but it’s a nice treat to have once in a while.

I was in line and the lady in front of me asked for recommendations on what to get from the person who worked there. She vehemently expressed her shock and disgust when she found out it was green tea. Listen lady! Asian people and a lot of other people LOVEGREENTEA — green tea ice cream, green tea mochi, green tea dipping sauce. She needed to chill. Anyway, I told the person who works there to make my PopBar look good for Instagram so she suggested white milk chocolate with hazel nuts, which was delicious!!!

What a fantastic idea. Just as a business idea I was amazed. If you have ever been to the Anaheim Packing District it’s gorgeous inside. There are swings, beautiful patio seating, and seats you can spread your legs out on. I got the hazelnut, white choco, pistachio but my friend’s waffle topping was soooooo much better!!! The hazelnut with white chocolate drizzle and waffle chips… Holy moly guacamole the waffle chips were so crunchy and crispy that along with the rich, chewy sorbet it was absolute blissful happiness in my mouth. I can’t wait to go back!

I got a mixed berry popSorbetto with dark chocolate here. It was tasty and refreshing, especially on the unseasonably warm day. Honestly, I don’t know what it cost. My friend bought it for me(thanks, Phillip R.!) There was no line. It was approximately 3 pm on Friday. How long do people wait in line for this? It was just a popsicle. There wasn’t even any booze in it. Let’s blow this popsicle stand.

Surprisingly good! Located near the second floor entrance of the Anaheim Packing District, this ice pop booth didn’t have a long line, thankfully. So simple concept: choose your flavor of popcicle, choose whether you want a chocolate coating(full, half, white, milk chocolate, etc.), and what type of nuts/toppings you want. We chose the green tea«kit kat» flavor and the hazelnut aka«ferrero rocher» flavor. They were awesome! Not too sweet, with a thin layer of crisp on the outside and soft, smooth creamy flavor on the inside. It was around $ 10 – 11 bux for two popcicles. a tad steep BUTITWASGOOD! Can’t wait to go back and try other popular flavors ;D

This place is good, but definitely overhyped. [LOCATION] It’s located on the second floor of the Anaheim Packing District, and believe me when I tell you that this place is super packed. It took me three loops around the parking lot to finally find parking, so be prepared to be on a hunt for a spot! [GELATO] I’m a huge fan of matcha and also gelato, so I got the green tea gelato with a white chocolate drizzle and a chocolate gelato for my friend. The green tea gelato was really good but the white chocolate was too sweet for my taste. I don’t recommend adding any chocolate drizzle or dip if you don’t want something overbearingly sweet. [ORDERING/SERVICE] How it works is you pick your gelato flavor, then they pass it down the line so you can pick your chocolate dips and extra toppings. After that, you pay for your gelato and grab it! Super convenient how the line goes down, but I felt incredibly rushed. The people working seemed a little impatient when I didn’t know what toppings I wanted and it seemed like the cashier was just having a bad day. Might not make the drive out to Anaheim just to try this place again, but definitely worth trying once!

Waay too sweet for grandma and by grandma, I unfortunately mean… me. I appreciate a balanced sweetness, but these bars are overwhelmingly sweet. I’d also like to mention that they’re really messy to eat. Got the ‘Green Tea Kit Kat’ — it tasted just like the candy in ice cream bar form, but I’d rather eat an actual green tea Kit Kat. Awesome for photos, but I won’t be back.

It’s been a little over half a year and I’m finally reviewing this place so just hang tight, y’all. PopBar has been on my «bookmarks» list for the longest time and when I had the chance to visit my cousin down in SoCal, well, the opportunity presented itself and I told her we had to go. Bless her for taking me because she drove that whole week I was down there so I treated her to an ice cream bar. LOL. It is located in the Anaheim packing district, but the place itself seems much cooler than the name. Once you walk inside, PopBar will be to the left and they’ll probably have a line already so you’ll know. They have all their bars displayed out front and it’s a pretty simple process because you literally just choose your dip and toppings then pay and leave. I got their green tea bar with a milk chocolate half dip and then a white chocolate drizzle. Can’t remember what my cousin got exactly but you can just refer to the photo at the bottom of this review to see. I forgot how much these bars were, but taste wise– they were okay. The concept itself was interesting because it’s completely customizable which is great, but the flavors are alright at best. I wasn’t completely blown away, but I’ll probably come back and try again one day just for the fun of it.

Popbar is a mini franchise(there’s another location in Arcadia as well as few other locations around the world — from Russia, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, and Canada) that sells eye-catching gourmet popsicles. Below is a quick ordering guide: Step 1: Pick a popsicle — popSorbetto($ 3.49) or popGelato/yogurtPop($ 3.99) Step 2: Unlimited Dippings(additional $ 0.50, optional — you can request for 1 or 2 half dipped): Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, mint dark, and caramel dark Step 3: Unlimited Poppings(additional $ 0.50, optional): Almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts, caramel corn, waffle cone, chocolate sprinkles, coconut shreds *** Green Tea(popSorbetto, $ 3.49) + half dipped milk chocolate($ 0.50) + almonds($ 0.50): Very creamy green tea popsicle and it didn’t melt very fast. I liked the combination and the popsicle … but $ 5 is simply too expensive. Just as a comparison — one plain popsicle at the Ice Bar( ) is $ 2.25 and house toppings popsicle is $ 3.25. *** Honestly, just how many toppings can you actually put on a tiny popsicle? Overall it is still a good dessert option in the Anaheim Packing District, but I’ll deduct one-star for its hefty price. Now if you are looking for one-of-a-kind Asian popsicle flavors, then the Ice Bar at West Covina is the place you want to visit.

Now that the hype has died down, the line was fairly short. I decided I was gona give it my first try of Popbar to see what the fuss was about. I picked the mix berries bar: half dipped in dark chocolate with almonds and drizzled with white chocolate. It was quite tasty. Such a pretty presentation. The bar wasn’t too sweet and tasted very natural with no added sweetener. So natural that there are seeds left from the berries and that can get stuck between your teeth. I thought the chocolate dip and nuts are just a little too much, taking away the goodness of the bar. Now that I’ve given it a try, I won’t need to wonder about it anymore.

A great dessert option in the Anaheim Packing District. The concept is simple: fresh fruit gelato bars, a variety of chocolate dips, and a plethora of nut and snack toppings. The result is a delicious and unique Popsicle with a nice twist. I opted for the strawberry gelato Popsicle and customized with a half dip of milk chocolate and drizzled white chocolate all topped with crumbled caramel corn. There was already a small queue when I lined up but service was prompt and fast. Overall, great dessert and great execution. Popbar accepts credit cards including Amex via Square.

Based on ‘The Dessert Queen’s’ recommendation, I made a point to go here after libations and such yesterday. I don’t eat dessert often, so it had better be FUC’N good! Short answer is yes, very good and well-worth visiting again. I can see how a long line might develop here, fortunately that was not the case around closing time Sunday. The aforementioned expert’s expertise in sweet craft was cross-checked. The verdict? She’s absolutely correct. I picked the gelato Green Tea flavor and my date went for the pineapple sorbetto. I had mine drizzled in milk chocolate with pistachio and almond dips. She went for white chocolate drizzle and an all coconut dip. Everything was fresh and the presentation was also fun. The best part? Trying to see how much we could keep off our clothes! Sitting in the swing downstairs was the perfect place to finish the pops. I guess she’s hot because my pop dripped on my pants ;)

Green Tea Gelato: OMG, MATCHACREAMINESSEXPLOSION. I was wary at first of tainting such holy nectar of the gods with milk chocolate, so I asked for only a half drizzle of it. However, foolish human that I was, I didn’t know how much more amazing the milk chocolate made the green tea. I should of drenched my green tea bar into the chocolatey bath. I’m coming back, and I’m bringing new converts with me. I was really surprised this only had 3.5 stars on Unilocal, mostly due to people writing about the price they charge for re-branding gelato and putting it on a stick. Yes, lets just call PopBar what it is… a popsicle! However, the ice cream was freakin delicious nonetheless.
