My review is neutral. I did a consult but no work, so I can’t speak about quality or outcome.
I did a free consultation with Dr. Kim.
First of all he seemed rushed. He lost track of what he said because first I requested to buy a copy of the panoramic. He said that was fine. Then when it was being done he said he’d give me the origional. On the way out he said there was no charge and refused to sell or give me the X Ray. I even told him I didn’t want to be exposed to radiation for every consult and he still refused after telling me more than once I could have or buy it. Kinda strange.
He didn’t like that I was shopping around for prices and options. I asked about options other than what he said I needed and he refused to give me an estimate. When he gave me his prices he only told me. There was no pamphlet or general price list. I asked for literature about his specialties and he said he didn’t provide any. I thought it was kind of odd. The numbers he gave sounded reasonable (like $ 700 for a root canal, half price from his usual $ 1,400) but he couldn’t give it to me in writing. I mentioned I’m waiting on VA dental insurance and I’m just looking around and preparing. He lost interest when he realized I wasn’t yet comitted to his office.
The panoramic X-​ray scanner he uses is obviously antiquated. The analog film yeilds a low-​res blurry approximations of X-​ray images. He showed me smaller scans of specific teeth. They were close up and more clear than the panoramic, but still looked analog and dated. I should mention that he showed me a different patient’ s file when he was pulling out the small x-​rays. Seems like an obvious privacy violation.
Now, this isn’t to say Dr. Kim isn’t a good dentist. If he’s used to old fashioned imagry and knows how to read them, more power to him. However I do question some of his practices. If his imagry methods are antiquated to hell I have to assume at least some of his dental practices are, too. I honestly can’t be at ease with a dentist that has such obvious looming questions about him.

I went Dr. Kim’s office for crown. I bet he is honest and great dentist in my town.
