this review is for El Sol Bakery @ 401 S. MAGNOLIAAVENUE.(714) 827‑0275 i actually took 2 business cards so i could have the correct address for when i wrote a review here and now i can’t find them LOL i do know that if you are coming from lincoln avenue, it will be on your right side right before orange avenue. ok, so now all that is done… THISPLACEISGREAT!!! we’ve passed by this panderia [mexican bakery] at least 20x and i’ve commented every time that i need to try their tamales. their window art says, «TAMALESEVERYDAY». well, today was our lucky day. after dropping off the kids at school and it being our day off from work, we pulled in to the parking lot at about 815am. the minute i got out of the car, my nose was tickled by sweet goodness. we walk in to the tiny shop but their display cases were FULL of mexican breads and sweets. there were racks full of breads and sweets as well, i’m assuming they were cooling down. i immediately chose a bullhorn shaped [ha! i can’t think of any other way to describe it] bun full of cream. we also bought 2 chicken tamales and 2 pork tamales. the bag it was put into was STEAMING! i would’ve liked to save it for lunch but couldn’t resist the freshness and we ate it for breakfast. it was delicious and not greasy! A+++++++++++++++ as for my bun, it was delicious, so fresh, flaky and the cream was a thick sort of pudding — not custard but close. you have to try it out but get their early!!!
