I was very impressed with the staff at the hospital. Everyone was friendly and asked if I needed help finding the Radiology department. My appointment was for a CT chest at 9:30am. Sharla, the CT tech greeted me and explained everything from how long I would be in the room, to possible reactions to the contrast. The hospital was clean and the CT room was very nice. I was told how long before my doctor would receive the results, and they actually got the results fast.
This was my first CT and the experience was great.

To start… Free valet which helps when you’re running late for an appointment.
As far as the folks that work there, it’s a hit or miss with their level customer service. Done are really good, some are really bad.
If you need to get a radiology procedure done, see if you can go elsewhere. Wait time to get something done is ridiculous — at least this was my experience and from what I saw from the people waiting with me.

we had our first baby here almost two weeks a go. and all i can say is that they took care of us. nurses were nice and helpful and professional. it did take them some time to get us room and their reason was that my wife wasn’t ready yet (i think we waited almost 90 minutes). once we entered LDR rooms we were treated in professional manner.
one thing that i can say is that they need to have valet. there was a sign but i waited almost 10 minutes no one showed up to the counter so i had to park car and we had to walk back with my wife in pain.

11/9/2001…i was admitted for scheduled C Section for my youngest son. Stellar amazing experience! Nurses n my doctor made it more than a blissful time in my life…
12÷31÷15 to feb 2016, ICU… my kids father beat fate, with the intensive, constant care n help of the nurses and doctors of the Intensive Care Unit. To be honest, he wasnt expected to live. (The cause i will not share), but honestly, their expertise and a miracle, hes alive n almost 100% well today and his children still have their dad! Thank you ER and ICU staff!
⁵⁄₂₀ — 5÷24÷2016, Heart & Vascular Unit… someone im extremely close to was sent to ER from a routine visit attheir primary physician due to a irregular EKG. Side note, this person felt fine but still… went. ER did a follow up EKG n had this person monitored… next thing we knew, was admitted. Discovered heart issues that couldve possibly killed had it continued to go on unnoticed and unattended to sooner than later… for 5 days, constant tests, monitoring, meds and more tests… not only stabilized this persons condition but put this person on the path to improvement.
Every experience from ER… ICU…and Heart Unit… has been above and beyond! The nurses, nurses aides and doctors… are the utmost personable, amazing, patient, attentive and caring.
If you or a loved one needs specialized or emergency care or childbirth expertise… i STRONGLY recommend AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center!
I need to thank AHMC for keeping these people in my life… from my heart and soul.

Been there a couple times this week for my newborn to get some tests done after he was born
And im just leaving this msg because the staff nurses doctors and VALETwere very professional and kind and respectful. Keep up the good work guys and thank you for everything.

This has been the worst ER experience that I’ve had. I took my 10 year old to the ER because he was having really bad stomach pains (appendicitis) I had to look for parking since they don’t have enough parking spaces close to the ER entrance, as soon as we were going in there is this security guy who was very rude wouldn’t let me in before signing in on a chart seriously he stood in front of us until I did that (like really this is the ER not a prison visit) Once we were in there were only two nurses checking in people (there was over 30 people in the waiting room!!)
they handed me a packet of paperwork to fill out prior to even checking us in. I went up the nurse and explain that I really thought that my son had appendicitis and that it was an emergency her response was «everyone here has an emergency» really my son could have died in the waiting room. long story short I went to another facility and they gave us priority since it was a critical situation.
If I could I would give 0 stars and an F — - to their ER check in staff.

Unbelievable I took my mother in law here for an emergency visit due to her medical history. As I waited outside while she was inside with my sister in law, a couple comes in and the wife is pregnant. The husband tells the security that her water broke and the security tells him to move his car. While she starts filling out paper work.
This really upset me because one I’m a mother and two I work in the medical filed and no since of urgency was going on when they stated her water broke!
So I tried to ask for help from a nurse yet no one answered to inform them they have a pregnant women out in the waiting room filling out forms. (her breathing has increase, she was trying to hold the paperwork as she was holding her stomach) I mean this whole issue was crazy.
Even as I try to get help for her I get told by the security to sit down that they have it under control he says…
They waited until the forms were filled and had her sign in which took 15 – 30 mins before they took her back.
Wow I will never come her again.
They don’t care!!!

Brought my daughter in because of horrible back and abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting. Found she had a kidney infection and kidney stones. Staff, doctors, and nurses have been amazing! Special thanks to the ER team. Our ER nurse Zac kicked butt and so did his team. Thank you Dr. Wally. (Sp?)

I nearly chopped off the tip of my thumb yesterday. I live in south corona and from prior experience there was not a chance I’d ever go back to corona regional. I opted to take the 40 minute drive in hopes for decent care.
I arrived at Anaheim Regional’s ER and within 15 minutes I had already been checked in and a nurse was taking my vitals. After my vitals were taken, I was promptly given a bed. I was immediately seen by nurses and a doctor. They were kind, professional, had a sense of humor with me and appeared concerned for my discomfort and well being. There was a male nurse, a Korean guy, I don’t know his name but he was awesome. He stayed with me the entire time and advised me in everything that was going to be done. He was personable and compassionate. He never left my side the entire time unless it was going to get the appropriate things that the doctor needed for my treatment.
After I was patched up, I was quickly discharged with the appropriate paperwork and sent on my way. From the time I walked in to the time I walked out was roughly 1 ½ hours.
This is what a hospital and hospital staff should be. Actually I believe they went above and beyond. Anaheim Regional raised the bar in how patients should be treated in my opinion. It was well worth the drive for me. If I could give more stars I would. Thank you Anaheim Regional ER.

Past the crazys go to the desk where they have you sign for all your billing info. Then they ask you whats wrong… sit down … got to nurse for bp and then have them ask you whats wrong again. I brought a list they don’t care. Still want to ask you like work on your communication skills. Took the bp with my sweater on. Due dilligence in the house. Is it all about consistency cayse its not accuracy. Sit back down for an hour. I bounced. People yelling in hospital, no help, no love l, no health care, just basic health services.

I took my 3 year old in because he had a fever of 104.5 and was vomiting with a cough. It looked busy as I entered so I was prepared for a wait. I understand it’s Friday night and emergency rooms are busy. It did take about 30 min to be checked in, which isn’t too bad. The admitting clerk was nice. My whole problem was the triage nurse. She was so rude and unprofessional. I told her about how my son had a cough on and off for a month and she rolled her eyes and asked if I had taken him to a doctor. I told her yes but the antibiotics didn’t work and she asked if I followed up and I said no, they didnt tell me to and since he got better for a while, I didnt see the need until now, then she said in a really sarcastic voice, «oh really, they didnt tell you to go back?» And then she said she wasn’t trying to call me a liar but she thought it was werid. Umm hello, my son is really sick. I don’t need some nurse who thinks she’s better than me to be sarcastic and rude. She kept making these small, unnecessary comments too.
We then got sent out for another 45 minutes to wait for a bed. Once we got a bed, a different nurse who attended us was the best. So professional and great bedside manner. She treated my son like a human being. The doctor was good, xray tech was good. The discharge nurse who was a man was very, very nice. He explained everything in great detail.
Only thing werid is the nurse who attended my son at his bed asked us if the other nurse had given my son anything and at what time and how much. I thought there was charts for this? Isn’t that how hospitals prevent people from overdosing or mixing medicines?!
So total was about 2 and a half hours. Not bad for wait time. Would I come here again? It depends on how serious our condition is. That triage nurse left a lasting impression on me. But that was only one bad nurse compared to the other 3 great nurses and doctor who treated my son. I would have gave 4 stars if it wasn’t for her. I couldn’t give 5 just because of the hospital is outdated and the wait for a fever of 104.5 was a bit long for my liking.

This hospital is ok, however they really need to improve on there Emergency Room, I took my husband there in February, he was throwing up blood, the emergency room security guard, had me feel out a form and put it in the 2^nd window that got ignored, while waiting a lady came in to see what the status was went out and smoked a cigarette and came in acting like she could not breathe so they took her before my husband. the gal at the window had people up at that window for more than 35 min. doing what? I don’t know. When I force myself up to the window to make this girl put my husband information in. she gave him a band and threw his paperwork on the side this is when I knew I had to go else where. I have excellent insurance so I can take him anywhere.

Last Tuesday evening I was diagnosed with having a bacteria that got into my bloodstream then attacked my aortic valve. Being young and healthy and never broken a bone this was obviously very scary. I was transferred last Wednesday to Anaheim Regional because they specialize in cardiac issues. Not having much time to process the fact I was going to have open heart surgery was frightening enough, but the nurses and staff in CVU were amazing. My surgeon, Dr. Ott, although very businesslike, is one of the best. My cardiologist there, Dr. Kim was fantastic. She doesn’t mess around and just gets things done. She visited me each day after surgery (which was last Thursday afternoon).
As I progressed, from what I heard, everyone was so excited to see the steps I was making and how I was getting stronger each day. Tubes and wires coming out and walking around– yes I am strong, but the staff was there with me every step of the way. Kathy Cole, my first nurse there was outstanding, Michael the guy at the front desk of ICU always was cheering me on, Foncy, Devon, Jennifer, and I could go on. Once I was moved upstairs, the wonderful treatment continued. Now, being in a hospital is already a scary and lonely experience, but they made me feel not so scared and when family had to go, they helped me feel not so alone. Food– not so great, but that’s to be expected from hospitals. Being a total foodie, my palate was craving so many things! Not hospital food!
I was discharged this past Tuesday afternoon by Dr. Ott’s assistant, Elisa. Who was also amazing. I was very glad to go home with friends and family, but it felt good knowing there were people who had made such an impact on your life changing experience there. I will definitely go back and visit them once I am recovered because they took such good care of me. So thank you to all of those at Anaheim Regional ICU and the staff and nurses on the 2^nd floor. My life literally has been changed by having open heart surgery, but the people who were there with me by my side helped to make it easier.

WORST HOSPITAL EVER!!! The nurses are assholes, they don’t know what their talking about. I went in a week ago and was their for 6 hours. I even threw up and I notified a nurse and they didn’t come help me clean myself, so I sat in my vomit for 45 mins. Also the doctors are rude here and very disrespectful. I will never return here EVER!!! I also heard some nurses complain about their shifts saying they were board and wanted to go home. To me I never want to hear that from a nurse plus this hospital seems now it’s kids in learning how to do medical. Don’t risk your life here!

Let start off by saying that the nurses and staff are WONDERFUL! That being said, the hospital itself is a dive. My wife delivered our third child Sunday. The labor examination room is not private: you share a room divided by a cubicle curtain. They ask you to undress and poke and prod at you even though there’s another guy with his wife or girlfriend in the next bed. You even get to hear what nasty diseases they have… gross!
Once you get transferred to the labor and delivery room, it’s pretty clean. The TV is a joke and the bathroom with shower is cramped and in need of some upgrades. The equipment looks like it should probably be replaced real soon.
The nursing staff are wonderful and check on you often. My only gripe is that this is the second time they had a male nurse in the room. That’s just plain weird.
When we were transferred to the regular floor, the room was dirty, the sink was leaking, not the faucet but old grimy water coming up from around the sink, and there was no hot water!!! Isn’t that a health code violation?! The nurses had to get us hot water from the nursing station and my wife had to take a cold shower.
If it wasn’t for our OB delivering here, we would have picked a different hospital. Do yourself a favor and look around at the sinks, bathrooms, equipment and test the water. The staff may be great, but the place is a mess…

Like any ER, wait time is pretty bad. It took about 2 hours before being seen, but the staff was awesome and super personable. They went above and beyond to keep me comfortable while I was waiting (once I got inside). All the nurses were super friendly (even though it was late at night), and the ones that helped me took the time to talk to me to make me feel more comfortable about my injury.
Overall, if I got injured again (please, no!), I would come here to get treated :)

Came to the ER over the weekend around 2am. My boyfriend needed medical attention. Now, I’ve been to alot of ERs in my time and i have to say that this was the loudest and unprofessional ER that I have ever been to. This is an ER, not a place to joke around. While waiting behind the curtain, I could hear nurses joking around and telling stories that should be told during their break, not while dealing with patients. I learned so much about the nursing staff’s personal life that i cared to know. I swear if i have to hear «Back, back, Spaghetti Strap» again, I’m gonna scream!
I’m also very surprised that there was only 1 doctor, therefore making the wait longer. The ER seemed full and I felt bad for the doctor. Luckily the doctor was very professional and attentive. He did the procedure in a quick manner and put us at ease.

By far the worst hospital I’ve ever been to.
My mom came to have her gallbladder removed, simple enough, right? No. The surgeon nicked her liver and she ended up having to stay over night to be on watch for internal bleeding. On top of that, instead of spending one hour in recovery, she waited in there for almost 5 hours for a room to open up. We thought all would be fine from then on, but that night she had an IV connected to her arm for hours without being plugged in. The next day, we waited for the doctors approval for her to go home. He was set to meet her at 12:30 and didn’t end up seeing her until 2. So glad it’s over and we will never be coming here again.

I was visiting Anaheim with my daughter for the cheer competition last weekend. I had a very short time to decide which ER to take my daughter to based on Google and Unilocal.I chose this hospital based on size and the NEGATIVE comments on Unilocal.A lot of the negative comments were based on unrealistic expectations. ERs treat people based on severity. That means if you are not dying, you may have to wait until the sicker people are taken care of first.
My daughter’s vitals were checked in 30 minutes. BP normal, low grade fever, symptoms of vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, and moderate sharp stomach pain. About an hour later she got a bed and a more thorough examination. In my daughter’s case, her situation meant we waited 90 minutes total while the potential miscarriage and baby with a high fever was being addressed first. Makes sense to me.
My daughter was dehydrated and when she got a bed, the RN promptly gave her an IV and took initial blood tests. Then Dr. Sviland further examined her and diagnosed her with a stomach virus. She was also given a CT to test for appendicitis because her right side hurt more. This was done even though I told the doctor 2 girls in my daughter’s hotel room had similar symptoms. I appreciated that he was thorough. I don’t consider this defensive medicine.
The result was a 6AM release. My daughter went back to the hotel and was able to compete that evening. Thank you to the desk staff, Dr. Sviland, the nurse (sorry can’t recall his name) who treated my daughter and got her feeling better.

You gotta always start with something positive. WHY? Cause it sets the tone for the entire story. Therefore,
THE GOOD
My nephew was born here several years ago. Our pride and joy. He’s the epitome of an awesome kid that constantly reminds me to have one someday. I can hear myself saying — «I want one of those, eventually…»
THE BAD
I’ve already lost one parent years ago at this hospital. No fault to them, it was just his time. They took good care of us, but I find it hard sometimes to forget the pain. I’m sure you can understand.
THE UGLY
My mother was admitted here this past week and you start to panic, wondering how to relive the memories of someone being sick and the slew of issues that accompany it. Yet, you hold it together and bear hope, cause that’s pretty much all you can do. Just be there for your loved ones and set your priorities straight.
On my last Unilocal tip for this place, I joked about how the hospital staff here, now knows me on a first name basis. Kinda sounds like the theme song for the TV sitcom Cheers — «Where Everybody Knows Your Name.» But, that’s how comfortable this hospital tries to make you feel.
The orderlies that have helped us are true professionals. Always with a smile, never giving attitude. I’ll never be fully comfortable at a hospital, but they sure give you your money’s worth. I told this to Steve S this morning, but I forgot how hard nurses work. With long hours and tiring shifts, it’s never easy, and they take care of their patients. They were my true heroes this week.
Even, the security guard downstairs smiles and tells me to have a blessed day, as I pass by him each morning. Remember, what I said earlier, about starting off with something positive? Exactly my point. We need more people like him. Another great concept — all the proceeds from the gift shop downstairs are donated for scholarships, to give students a chance.
The doctors come and go, sometimes without consistency, but I can understand that. They can’t be everywhere and for each patient, it’s always a priority for them. Still, I think the Anaheim Regional Medical Center does one heck of a job. They run the facilities well, with pride and dedication. I can even smell that amongst the staff, cause it’s definitely not a stool sample either.
The area is kept tidy and clean, so who can hate that? There’s plenty of parking out in front, with an Emergency Room entrance facing La Palma Ave. FREE valet parking is available closer to the main entrance. In the future, I would feel better coming here again, but hopefully I won’t have to that for a very long, long time.
