Rude! I came to leave flower on the 40th Anniversary of my Fathers death only to find the gate to the mausoleum LOCKED. Why? It’s a weekend don’t you think people visit?

Awesome, awesome place! I’m not trying to be morbid/gothic by writing a review of a cemetery, by the way, but out of an interest in Anaheim’s history. I’ve been reading a lot of books on Anaheim lately, and wanting to go see where it all started, I made a self-guided tour of the Anaheim Colony area(North, West, South and East sts.) until I ended up here at the cemetery. You really don’t expect to see a patch of grass with some tombstones in a residential area, but that’s how it is and it’s a bit odd. Anyways…once I entered, I walked around the place and enjoyed seeing the names of the founders. It’s amazing to see all this history in one place; I felt like some characters of a book came alive — almost… they are dead. The oldest tombstone I saw was from a man who was born in 1775 and died in the 1850’s. A guide to the graves would be helpful, though, since it’s hard looking for them and I really didn’t want to step on graves to look at the headstone, out of respect for the person lying there.
