My lady and I received a voucher for this restaurant while staying at the connected hotel. The voucher expired a day earlier so I called and spoke to Darrel(Chef) and said they would still honor it for us. Upon arriving our waitress was Roxanne, she was nice and friendly. We explained the situation with the voucher and I mentioned to her that I had spoken to Darrell earlier. She stated she was aware of it because Darrell had informed her earlier in the day. A chef came out to greet us because his name was the same as mine(Greg Martinez), he was a very friendly person. Shortly after Darrell came out to greet us as well. Obviously something neither of them had to do but took the time to do so anyway. The food was excellent and the service was spot on. We will definitely be going back.

While I miss K’ya, the restaurant that occupied this space prior to American Tavern Eatery And Drink taking over, it’s still nice and convenient that there is a restaurant here. The flight of beer is their best deal and the food is not bad. There are not many people that seem to come here to eat, and there is a lot of empty space. The best part of the restaurant is the convenience in being able to watch the Disney fireworks outside. It’s a good spot, but the food is just okay, and the usual emptiness whenever I visit kind of reflects that. For a restaurant that has valet outside, I would expect a little more.

We’ve eaten here 3 or 4 times over the last few years while staying at The Menage. Whether you go for breakfast or dinner you are in for an above average experience. The service is really good. The employees are attentive and curteous. I recommend the Messy Burger or if you want a salad, the Cobb salad is really good. My wife ordered the vegetarian wrap with fries and went on about how great both were, she was pleasantly surprised. As far as lobby resturants go, I was impressed with this one.

French fries and wings are good. But… Had to send back the soup to have it heated up and it came back, the plate was warmer but not the soup itself. I have to say you are kind of trapped here in the hotel unless you want to drive. I would suggest driving somewhere else to eat.

Writing only on the breakfast experience I was expecting more from what the arriving atmosphere the night prior showed. Walking in to an unwelcoming hostess and empty vats of coffee, we were given one plate each and told to sit where we liked. A small bar of food offering the continental classics sat in the middle of the dining room with a few fruit offerings off to the side. The bagels were rock hard, and no they didn’t need defrosting while the eggs were watery and bland. The sausages tasted previously frozen and bland as well with more chews than should be necessary to consume. No ice was available for the juices that were hidden near the waiters station and a lack of table service had us searching for additional plates and silverwear when needed. Being included as a part of your stay as a free meal it definitely shines through as such. One who pays for this experience would certainly complain and ask for a full refund of the meal price and I’m certain no tip money would be visible on any table anywhere in the dining room.

Food was good. Prices were reasonable. Not too loud. Service was very good. I would eat here again.

It’s not that the food was bad. It just wasn’t… Good. The mac and cheese only surpassed the quality of Kraft due to the addition of a crunchy topping, the salad greens were just a bit wilted and the flatbread pizza was laughably tiny. Add indifferent service and the entire experience was highly disappointing. Luckily, I hear the hotel is becoming a Sheraton soon. One can only hope they do something about this place.

If you’re thinking about eating here, chances are you’re probably staying at Hotel Menage, and if you’re staying at Hotel Menage you’re probably getting ready to start a magical day at Disneyland or California Adventure! Don’t ruin that magical day by starting your day off eating here. Just don’t. We have been here many, many times over the past couple of years, and much like the Hotel this restaurant resides in, this place has gone very downhill. I used to look forward to my morning breakfasts here. They do a breakfast buffet for $ 15.00 a person and they used to have delicious omelettes and a wonderful Belgium Waffle maker with lots of fun sides like chocolate chips, walnuts and mixed berries. All of that is gone now. And so is all my hopes and dreams for this place. It was a horrible, horrible breakfast. Plain boring scrambled eggs, rubbery bacon, sausage and dried up potatoes… Not worth your $ 15.00 people. Barely worth $ 5.00. Do yourself a favor and eat at the Denny’s across the street from the park. Better food, way better prices.

I don’t like giving out secrets like this, but the mixed reviews from people is unsettling for the crowds of people and expectations. Therefore, to be exact and clear: 1. ENJOY the restaurant on it’s on: Don’t be a patron of Hotel Menage and dine at American Tavern Eatery & Drink. I personally never eat at the restaurants of the hotels I stay it… why ruin a good relationship? 2. Go to the restaurant for good service: FREEVALET for diners. DONE. They are short staffed so I choose to eat outside to see the Disneyland fireworks while well aware of ordering our dinner with the bartender. Don’t expect more. They’re not going to send out waiters to their large swimming pool, deck, and patio. Just use COMMONSENSE when comes to expectations. 3. DRINK is apart of their name: So have a drink or two. They are a little pricy for the location(Anaheim) but their VICINITY to DISNEYLANDFIREWORKS makes you think you’re getting a DEAL. I wasn’t the biggest fan of their wine list, but they have very decent drinks. Major negative was the behind the desk manager who wouldn’t honor or own up to the Unilocal Deal. It’s a real problem with this place because this was the second time they wouldn’t honor their own advertisement. I think Unilocal Deals would be great for this place, but they should decide what they want to give out or discount… because it’s disappointing when you’ve already valet.

I can’t even fathom a bad word to say about this place. This will be our dinner spot for the remainder of our stay, fo sho. I’d had a horrible day at Disneyland(yes, that’s what I said) and looked to drown my sorrows at the hotel bar. We’ve previously had the barkeep: Jose(who was fabulous) and tonight Frank was on hand(equally as fabulous). He was attentive and held a great conversation and poured me a divine off-menu cocktail over and over. We eventually decided to eat and were offered the menu from our bar stools. I ordered the turkey club and a enchilada soup — OMG, heaven on my tastebuds on both accounts! My fiancé tried the Mac & Cheese and tacos with a side of garlic bread. The GB is $ 2 for a small 4 piece serve and it is by far, the best GB I have ever had. The Mac and cheese is your average run of the mill type but he swears the tacos were amazing and I believe him, they were gone before I even caught a glimpse! Seriously, so glad we stayed in house for our feed. Love this place!

American Tavern is okay… but only a shadow of K’ya. We were really thrown off by the scaled down atmosphere and menu of this place. We had previously eaten at K’ya at this location which was an eclectic tapas restaurant with skilled chefs. The restaurant has been remodeled and cut in half along with the menu. Still– we ordered. We had the chicken enchilada soup, some fish tacos, calamari, shrimp cocktail and a dinner salad. The food was well prepared and tasty. It was much better than I would expect at a hotel tavern. The salad dressing was homemade and the salad had lots of tasty vegetables in it with a gourmet feel to it. The calamari was restaurant battered and fresh. The soup was not impressive. It reminded me of Nalley’s chili. I would skip it. Overall it is a great place to eat for those visiting Hotel Menage. I would not make a point to come back otherwise.

I was in town for a professional conference and some colleagues reserved a dinner for us at this hotel based restaurant. Upon check-in, we were immediately seated, which was about the only positive experience of the evening. The dining hall was spacious but empty for a Sunday night with thousands of visitors in town. I ordered the chef cut steak and potatoes, cooked medium. What I got was a disappointingly small piece of steak-looking rubber that was cooked well done. Perhaps it was a reasonably sized steak at one point, but without any remaining natural juice it was shriveled like raisins. The vegetables — asparagus — were also overcooked to a soggy dark green. A colleague received a side of herb crust mac and cheese that seemed straight out of a Krafts box. On any other given night, I would have requested a re-do. However, it took nearly a hour from seating to even get appetizers out, a simply unacceptable feat given the lack of customers. Their kitchen is definitely not Gordon Ramsey approved. We got a free bottle of wine with a Unilocal check-in — so we got that going for us, which is nice.

I had seen American Tavern around the Taste of Anaheim events and had been curious to come and try it out. We arrived during their daily happy hour. $ 5 drinks and $ 5 appetizers. We ordered mac & cheese, carnitas tacos, pulled pork sliders, chowder fries, and flatbread pizza of the day from the HH menu. I had a Georgia peach martini, where my friends ordered the cherry limeade drinks. The HH portions are small but at least you can order a lot of variety. We had the chowder fries with the chowder on the side so that they wouldn’t be soggy upon arrival. We did notice that the food was sort of bland and in need of salt. Better to put it in than try to take it out. The mac and cheese was just ok but it was cheap. The pulled pork sliders were good and I ended up mixing my pulled pork with my mac and cheese. The flatbread pizza reminded me of a little kid’s creation. Not only was it small, it looked like 2 tiny hands had made it. The drinks were not that strong but tasty. The service was ok too. Nothing stood out to me really but I’d be interested in trying their regular menu in the future.

I decided to try the food here as I was already staying at the hotel and they entice you with $ 5 specials for happy hour which is from 4 — 7 pm, why not check it out after a long day at Disneyland park! When I first arrived, I noticed that the restaurant section was fairly empty, hhmm, maybe not the best of signs. There was no one greeting patrons at the front, it seemed like they had about 3 servers running around the restaurant, each assisting guests but again it was very slow. A person from the front desk of the restaurant came over to assist. I was given a menu and told about the happy hour currently going on. They had drink specials that’s were 1 dollar off of beer and 5 dollar well drinks. I ordered a Lime Rickey that was a vodka drink. The server highly recommended it so I figured I would try it. It took about 15 minutes for me to get my water and drink, being told that the bar was backed up I figured ordering food would be good so I could get everything hopefully at the same time. Mac n cheese, 4 cheese Flatbread, nachos, calimari and lobster Sliders were ordered. The nachos, mac and Flatbread arrived at the same time. The mac was tasty but something you can easily find at a generic buffet, next! The nachos were cold. They topped the hot cheese with so many cold ingredients that everything arrived cold and soggy to the table. The Flatbread, wow, are they really calling it that? It looked and tasted like a small, square frozen Totinos pizza, literally your supermarket frozen pizza. Not crisp to the dough, just soggy and soft as though microwaved which I’m sure they did. The calimari arrived and was very oily. Dipping sauce was a marinara and a «chipotle» mayo which literally looks and tasted like dyed mayo, not even spicy. The lobster Sliders were nothing to rave about. The crab was almost minced, not even a lump crab. It was served on a buttery sweet roll that tasted like a Kings Hawaiian roll. The crab was not seasoned well and had a lot of lemon which did not taste well with the really sweet roll. Now for the drinks. The lime Rickey I ordered was horrible. It literally tasted like a premixed horrible drink. I literally had to order a coke to finish my meal. Nothing here to say that I would want to try this place again. Needs some improvement in the kitchen department.

We ate here while on a staycation to Disneyland. We got a coupon for $ 10 off when checking into the hotel that this restaurant was located at and decided to check it out. Things started off on the wrong foot because we thought that we were getting $ 10 off our bill, when it was actually for a dish that was for under $ 10. So basically what the coupon should have said was«free appetizer.» Anyway… This place is a solid 3. After a long day at the«Happiest Place on Earth» and it’s California counterpart, my wife and I wanted carbs. She got spaghetti with meatballs. The pasta was way past al dente and the sauce was very tomato-y. I got a grilled cheese which they put a gastropub twist on by adding tomato, bacon, and carmelized onion spread(which made the bread a little soggy). It came with freshly made potato chips, which were a bit oily but a nice touch.

This place is really a lobby bar more than a «Tavern». Review is for HH only. Does anyone else think it’s odd that when ordering 2 glasses of cab and 2 glasses of water, the wine is served in nice quality stemmed wine glasses; the water is served in plastic cups? We’re not on the beach, we’re in a hotel lobby, sitting at the bar. We’re not going to walk away with your glassware. Did you not want to have to wash it? We ordered HH menu of wings, nachos, and mac n cheese. We did appreciate the bartender offering to put nachos toppings on the side. Wings were very good; not crazy about cheese«sauce» vs. actual cheese on mac n mac and nachos. Place was fine.

Spice. That’s what I’ve nicknamed this place. Everrrrything is spicy from the cashew nuts to the tomato soup. Uhhh, are those things even supposed to be spicy? All the servers were pleasant and kind but they were SODARNSLOW. Like really really slow, like took 15 – 20 minutes to bring out a bowl of soup? Uh??? OK, I feel bad for the complaints now – there’s nothing wrong with the servers. It’s the cook– he must be a perfectionist since he takes so long to make a bowl of soup. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. All in all, this ain’t a place to eat but it’s a wonderful venue to watch Disneyland fireworks. It may cost you $ 25(on holidays) but it’ll work for a more personalized ‘semi-private’ show, but you can always go to Downtown Disney and watch complimentary too.

Best HH Deals ever — and 7 days a week! This is our date-place. The wife and I have been here a few times now and never had a bad experience. Kind of feels like a night on the town without the drive, costs, or headaches of going to DTLA or San Diego. Also — with free valet — it is nice to get the car right away and costing only tip. The pizza is crazy good and on HH menu. The HH drinks(Mai Tais and other rum drinks are my favorite) are delicious and the bartenders have always been friendly.

Delicious«Messy» Cheddar Burger($ 10.95) — messy because it has cheese sauce on it! The burgers are really good here. I also like this new trend that’s happening at a couple places — bacon wrapped dates!!!($ 4.95) Very rich and tasty. The food is definitely 5 stars. I took off a star because the table we were sat at was really exposed — kind of like sitting in the middle of a hotel lobby, with other guests and customers walking by. This place is huge so I’m sure we could find a much more comfortable table next time.
