I got a lesson in life last week. Nothing could spontaneously induce me to enter an establishment which has a giant sign saying GUNS advertising at me from the freeway. But somebody, who doesn’t know me very well, gave me a gift certificate to Anacortes Telescope and etc. I pretty much hate guns, but am now super excited to say that I have my first ever, favorite gun shop! It was probably pretty obvious to the folks working there that I don’t frequent this sort of establishment, but they were so nice and funny, and when I saw a pair of pink binoculars, and swooned, they were there to catch me, figuratively speaking. I bought the binos. We talked about birds. I also bought a PINKKNIFE, the knife of my dreams if I had known to dream about pink knives. Seriously, they were as nice and attentive to me as they were to some people who were there to spend a buzztrillion dollars on really scary stuff. If I ever needed to buy a giant telescope I would go here because of the trust that I feel. Also because the telescope was pink. Most valuable of all, I am forced to set aside my prejudice for all people who like giant weapons. I do not understand them, but I cannot hate them, because among them walk nice people who sell pink knives and binoculars, and who are kind to weird girls in square dancing dresses.

This is the same review for my favorite gun shop. I will be buying Firearms from Herb and Paula for a long time. They are great! Shop is outstanding Firearm selection is superb. I drive 2 hours to go to their shop and have no regrets. As a matter of fact will be making another drive out there next month for my next purchase. If only Herb and Paula would expand closer to the Seattle area that would be awesome(we can all hope right?). Keep up the good work guys!!! See you guys soon. If your on the fence on buying from these guys do it.

This is my favorite gun store, the staff is helpful and knowledgable, they take the time to show you everything you are interested in and give you their recommendations. They also have a giant web site with a huge inventory of parts an other firearms. Hands down the best!

Last year, I drove up to Anacortes Telescope from Issaquah to see their selection of telescopes, rifle scopes, spotting scopes, and a model of a LWRC rifle they had in stock which I wanted to purchase, and found Paula to be a delightful guide to everything we wanted to see. Of course, I’d already researched what I wanted and why, but I did ask questions to make certain that I understood all the options to equipment that I had already investigated. I brought over $ 22,000 in cash plus a certified check to the store to make our purchases: of course, purchase of the LWRC rifle would require the rifle to be transferred to a FFL dealer in my hometown, but I was looking for quality and came prepared to purchase and fully intended to leave with the telescope, spotting and rifle scopes in our car. A man from the back of the store came up to us, interrupted our conversation for no good reason that I understand, and began telling us what we wanted. Being both an expert marksman involved in long distance competition, at 600, and 1000 yards, I knew precisely what I wanted in rifle, rifle scope, and spotting scope; as an amateur astronomer, I’d just had a pad poured at my house complete with electric and computer cable connections and knew precisely what I wanted in the way of a telescope — hence I found the individual intrusive, rude, and unable to understand that we were already being helped when he barged his way into our conversation and interrupted us. Paula must have been told not to help us because I couldn’t get her back out on the sales floor. No sale.

I stopped in to this shop to look at spotting scopes. The selection was limited, but the salesman found one in our price range and spent time showing us the features and letting us test it out. The shop is in a great location for trying out distance-seeing instruments as it is perched on a hill with large windows. We compared prices online to make sure we were getting a fair price(no one came close in price, actually) and we’re quite happy with our purchase.

High prices and poor customer service. I called ahead and was told they had what I was looking for. I drove an hour to get there and they couldn’t deliver. The male owner was a complete ass about it. Basically made phone calls and did anything he could to overtly ignore me(only customer in the place at the time). All despite the fact that I was wanting to spend some money. The lady at the shop seemed mortified at his behavior and was apologetic. Damage done, though. If I want that much attitude from a gun shop, I’ll go to Kesselring’s and pay 15% less. I’ll never go back.

I was in the process of buying a rifle online and was looking for an FFL that was close to me to accept the gun and transfer it to me. I called them on a Saturday and got the owner on the phone. I explained my situation and before I could finish, he cut me off and said, «Hey, I’m sorry, but I’ve got a lot of customers in the store at the moment.»(It didn’t sound too busy in the background, but whatever.) I’m expecting him to say, «Can I give you a call back? What’s your number?» I mean, that’s what one would reasonably think a business in this economy would say, right? No friend. Instead, he says, «Listen, I’m real busy… can I…,» /I wait in anticipation…/ «…can you… uh… just give me a call back on Monday.» *click* I’ll give you two guesses as to whether or not I called back on Monday. Really bro?
