Not my preferred department store. The clothing sizes usually run funny, and I never really find anything I like. I do like that they have a Lands’ End area in their women’s department. Some of the shoes are also nice, and when I used to need particular work bottoms(when I worked for a car wash), this was the place I would go. There are definitely better department stores in the area, and even the Boulevard Mall.

«I think, after 10 years of borrowing, we need to buy a vacuum… my parents go to sears, that sounds right, right?» Almost. This particular sears appliance section is tragic. They had a huge selection which was so promising until I asked for some assistance in selecting the right vacuum for my needs. «I don’t know anything about vacuums but I have the internet at my computer if you want to look something up. I’ll be right over there if you want to purchase anything.» It was 11am on a Saturday which I would think is prime appliance purchasing time. I did end up buying a vacuum from Sears as I have purchased most of my new appliances from them, just not this one. Also, this isn’t just about vacuums. A similar situation occurred over an air conditioner at this location but I let it go(until now).

ordered a couple kitchen appliances online for store pick-up. It was the easiest, fastest pick up service ever. Within 5 minutes of arrival, the products were loaded in our truck. They had the best price too. Impressed

I went to Sears around 8:15pm to purchase an elliptical machine. I already knew which machine I wanted before I got to the store… and waited until 8:35pm for the sales person to be available to help me. I mentioned that I wanted to open a Sears card and also that I wanted to schedule the home delivery and set up of the elliptical machine for a certain day that I was already scheduled to be off work. I told the salesclerk the desired date and waited while he opened the credit card, asked a manager for help several times, and finally completed the transaction. When my receipt printed, it showed that the delivery date was a full week after the date that I had specified originally. When I asked about it, the salesclerk said that the original day I wanted wasn’t available so he just picked another date. I was so angry because I wasn’t even consulted on what day I could or would be home to accept delivery for the elliptical machine. I asked them to change the delivery date to a day that was more convenient(and sooner than 2 weeks away!) for the machine that I just spent nearly $ 1000 on. The manager said the only way to change the delivery date would be to void the entire order and ring it up again. Considering that it was already past 9pm(their closing time) and I had been in the store nearly an hour, I declined. At least I get another day off work to wait for the delivery. I would just suggest that before anyone buys something that needs to be delivered, make sure that you over-specify your desired delivery date and maybe they’ll get it right if you repeat yourself a few times.
