I am Taiwanese, I grew up in Taiwan for 18 years — and so I was very excited to try this place out and see if it was authentic. I ordered the wonton soup and the«jing jong noodles»(炸醬麵). I have to say that I was overall very pleased with both. The soup was flavored correctly and tasted authentic. The wontons had a more wrapping to meat ratio than I would usually prefer, but that’s just a minor critique. The noodles were on the salty and heavier flavored side but since I do prefer very flavored food, I really enjoyed it.(Would not recommend if you are someone who likes lighter foods). The sauce to noodle ratio was perfect and it surprised me that the noodles came with vegetables and that the portion size was so big.(Great amount of food for the price) I was pleasantly surprised at how close to authentic taiwanese/chinese food this tasted. I can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes on the menu. The restaurant is small and cozy and I like that they have their own section of take out containers/materials so you can pack away yourself what you don’t finish. This place is a definite recommend for those who want to try a taste of good Taiwanese food!

I probably eat here once a week or so. SOGOOD. very authentic. super fast cooking time, great service. simple menu but literally everything on there is so good. There’s a dish for every situation. If it’s a hot day or you just want a cool lunch, get the cold sesame noodles. If you want something filling and savory, go for the pork belly over rice or the Jin Jong noodles(my fav dish there). If your stomach is hurting and you need something delicious but soothing, get the veggie ramen! if youre with friends, definitely order the dumplings or pancakes!!! I LOVEYOUMOMS

If you have the name«Noodle» in the title, you better deliver great noodles. Not so much so here. The broth was excellent but the noodles were mushy and overcooked. One star down. The beef was cheap cut and cut too thick. Star down. The last one goes to a restaurant with two tables full, and the tables have filth on them from the night before that still isn’t cleaned up or they had this SUPER rush when they opened. The guy at the counter sat on his butt and did nothing to attend to his public space. Star down. In a town where you have some of the best Asian food in Massachusetts, this place is a real underachiever that needs to focus on a clean dining room and much better preparation.

I’m originally from Southern California(San Gabriel Valley no less) where there is an ABUNDANCE of delicious Chinese food. Whenever I go home for the holidays, I make sure to get all my Chinese food cravings out of the way. However, I’m left a bit dry for the rest of the year. Mom’s Dumpling and Noodle can satisfy this craving when I’m not home. Initially, I was drawn to this place with the lure of legitimate fried pork chop rice. Is it any good? Yep. Is it authentic? Yep. Does it compare with the fried pork chop rice in Cali? Nope. My complaint isn’t with the actual pork chop. The actual pork chop is pretty good – seasoned nicely, juicy, and crispy coating. However, this dish is lacking that delicious stewed meat sauce that is drizzled over the rice that most places in Cali have. Instead, there’s a bit of soy sauce used to moisten the rice. The soy sauce egg(brown egg) is pretty good; why can’t they similar spices for the egg for the meat sauce? The proportion of pork chop, veggies, and rice is also off – too much rice for too little meat. Although the veggies are fresh and pretty good, they can be a bit bland. I wish they offered more variety than just broccoli and carrots. I also wish they added that chopped pickled mustard greens as a side. What I was pleasantly surprised with was their chicken leg rice. They actually debone the chicken leg so it was super satisfying and pleasurable to bite into a hunk of chicken without worrying about any bones. However, I also wish they added the stewed meat sauce and changed the proportion of meat and rice up. Same thing with the veggies – more variety! At the end of the day though, their food hits the spot when you’re craving some authentic Taiwanese café style food. The menu is small and they do it pretty well; albeit, they still can’t hold a candle to SoCal Chinese restaurants. Here’s to hoping they add some other Taiwanese dishes to the menu(stinky tofu please!!!).

I want to start by saying that this place has amazing Asian comfort food. So like the name really says it all. So soup, porridge, dumplings, noodle dishes, chicken and rice. It’s all stuff you want when you are sick, tired and just have had it with the world. After a long trip my wife and I always want food here. They are not trying to give you a complex flavor that will take you an hour to get. It’s food that makes you happy. It makes me happy. Moms makes me happy.

I love their scallion pancakes and dumplings with the dipping sauce! The king Jong soup got a little salty but very interesting flavor. The pricing is very reasonable too. Plus they have great drinks like aloe, apple cider and coca cola in a bottle

This is my favorite place for good, fresh ramen in Amherst. The dumplings are pretty good too, but to me nothing compares to the huge bowl of pork broth, noodles, bok choy, broccoli, carrots, and crispy chicken.(The chicken leg is deboned before is put in the bowl, in case you’re like me and you were a little curious about how it was prepared.) I have never finished a bowl of this, and I can eat a lot of ramen. Plus, it’s a pretty great price for the amount of fresh food you’re given. Highly recommend!

Was in Amherst area for the day for hike and our annual first summer visit to Peace Pagoda. After decided to stop in town for quick bite and found this place. Dumplings and Noodles, what’s not to love. The menu was simple: noodle/ramen bowls, rice bowls, appetizers, and sides. We ordered steamed and fried dumplings, scallion pancakes, chicken over rice bowl, pork over rice bowl for the boys and Jing Jong Noodle bowl. The food came out quick, and it was so good. Scallion pancakes were amazing. The dumplings were smaller size and perfect bites. Both boys loved their rice bowls, especially the crispy chicken over the rice. I loved the idea of simple menu of really good selection that is done really well. This is a wonderful addition to downtown. We will be back.

All of the food was very good. I ordered the pork over rice and the pork dumplings. The pork dumplings were fantastic and the pork over rice was very good. I enjoyed the pork dumplings so much that I ordered more to go for later on. My partner ordered the braised beef noodles and claimed it was very savory and had plenty of beef. The portion sizes were very large. I could not finish my meal. For all of this and two cups of tea I only paid about 25 dollars. The only bad thing is the dumplings were smaller then I expected(but still very good) and there was a hair on the side of the plate. As a side note, along with my pork and rice came a very interesting hard boiled egg. It apparently had been cooked with soy sauce so that it had soaked it in until turning brown. I tried it and it tasted like soy sauce until the yolk. The yolk had a very strange taste and I had to set it aside… Maybe others will have better luck with it.

Dumpling soup was very good, especially with a touch of the hot peppers at the table. Pork dumplings were so good and such a deal! I couldn’t believe the quality of the food. Wonton soup, hot and sour soup and vegetable dumplings were also outstanding.

Ironically, I never actually eat the dumplings or the noodles at this place. However, all of their rice dishes are absolutely top notch. As someone hailing from the San Gabriel Valley of SoCal(aka Chinese food central, USA), I can safely say that this place’s pork belly over rice and fried chicken over rice(or whatever it’s called) taste like completely authentic Chinese fast food. Which is saying a lot, being in the middle of western Massachusetts and whatnot. It’s really good stuff.

This was my first time coming here, and I was impressed. It is a small cozy place, which was exactly what I needed after trudging in the New England snow. It’s café-style, so pay at the cashier and they will bring the food to you. Take-out available as well! Their menu is not that extensive, but the quality is what matters! The prices are great. I ordered the pan-fried pork dumplings and braised pig feet. I was a bit skeptical of the portions around Amherst, since things tend to be overpriced(and taste bad)… …and boy, was I surprised! I really expected one or two pigfeet, but it was a huge heaping plate and it smelled wonderful! 1. Pan-fried dumplings(you can get them steamed too!) — They were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It wasn’t soggy nor was it too dry. The dipping sauce was also great — soy sauce with some spices. Perfect. 2. Pigfeet topped with cilantro — They are sooooo good. I ate the entire plate. Don’t ask me how, but I did. The thing about pigfeet and other body parts is that they have to be cleaned properly, or else there would be a lot of gunk and a certain smell — these passed the test. It was evident that it was braised until perfectly tender, because the skin and the tendon basically melted in my mouth. It was not too salty either! My friend got the scallion pancakes, honey ginger tea, braised egg, and vegetable dumplings. Everything was delicious! I had a bite of the scallion pancake and it was pretty good. I will definitely come back to this place! It’s like home away from home for me, and it’s such a nice change from all the overpriced and poor-quality Asian food in the area!

Very good pan fried pork dumplings. That’s all we ordered. After all, dumplings are in the name, right? For $ 5 we got a plate of a dozen smallish pork potstickers. They taste great – good garlicky, scalliony flavor. Perfect for cold weather. The dipping sauce is tasty, too.

Came here on 3 different occasions and was not disappointed. Each noodle/rice dish is usually accompanied with a medley of colorful vegetables which usually includes bok choy, sliced carrots and broccoli. I highly recommend the pork belly rice or chicken leg vegetable ramen. The prices here are also very reasonable for the amount you get. I usually share one dish and maybe an appetizer with a friend and the both of us are usually full by the time we finish. I will definitely be coming back for more!

Mom’s specializes and does so well. A small menu offers Dumplings in vegetable and pork, Ramen with vegetables or Bean paste — the option to add a meat — and meat atop rice. A few sides such as Kimchi and poached eggs are also options. While Amherst is saturated with Asian offerings, Vietnamese to Chinese and Dim Sum to take-out, Mom’s has something others don’t: Simple authenticity. The Ramen at Mom’s is chewy and simple, in broth(Miso) which is nuanced and not overly-salty. The bowl I had, Vegetable with Miso and Chicken Leg, could have had more vegetables for my taste but for what I ordered and what was served, traditional Ramen, it was stellar. The chicken was tender and lightly fried, juicy from the broth and still encased by the crisp outter layer which housed it. Mom’s is a welcome addition to Amherst center, I Ya in South Hadley its nearest competition
