Visiting UMASS with Son #1. Had wings, skins and a garden salad. The green salad was surprisingly fresh and the dressing very good. The skins were solid. However, the wings were the thing here. We like them extra crispy and we had to send them back to get them done the way we like(I think the cook was afraid to overcook them.) In any case, the second time they were perfect and among the best wings we’ve had(ordered honey BBQ with an add’l side of medium level hot sauce which we poured over them.) They were close to perfect! They don’t call it The Hangar for nothing; this place is cavernous with a large bar area, several large dining areas and a brewing area within the restaurant. Our server(cannot recall her name) was really lovely and accommodating. Very friendly and sweet! Looking forward to visiting again soon!

I wish I had seen all the positive comments on the wings before I had lunch here. So instead, Hangar will have to make do with my satisfaction getting a burger and beer for lunch. What better way to enjoy Amherst Brewing Company products than at their own restaurant. I was instantly drawn to their hazelnut doppelbock. Lunch was a ranch burger, cooked to order and very juicy, served with lettuce, onion and tomato on a kaiser roll. I opted for cole slaw instead of fries, and the amount you get is pretty impressive. Most places give you a scoop or a small ramekin — here I got what was essentially a cereal bowl full of tasty creamy cole slaw. There’s plenty of space here for groups of any size. Service is attentive and friendly. The rest rooms are maintained as well as the restaurant, if not better. If I lived locally, I’d be here a lot.

Good food and fun atmosphere. Decent/good beer. My one complaint would be the service I had was bad. They always seem to be in a rush and not very friendly or personable. Apparently they don’t realize this is a customer service business. I would have gave it 3.5 stars.

GETTHEWINGS We got two sets of half pounds because we wanted to try a couple of the options. We wish we ordered another set because the two: honey BBq and Crusin’ Alt.(Sort of medium buffalo) was awesome! We got pork sliders and oven face turkey sandwich. Both were delicious. Fries were under sandwich so they got covered in heavenly-gravy and sauce; perfection is all we could think of. They also had beer sampler station. So cool! The Amherst brews were solid too. Tried Jess which heard was a local fav IPA, super tasty with lite bite. And the Worthy(Pilsner) super bright notes and smooth finish. I left there was a can of each type to try at home. Wish we lived closer but definitely a stop along the way through MA!

Excellent wings. I usually get boneless ones to go because the scene isn’t exactly my favorite. Is pretty fratty in my opinion. So for me, it’s grab and go.

Every time I’m visiting my husband’s family in western mass I make sure we go here. It’s been over a year since we last went and were pleasantly surprised that they moved into a larger more spacious place. Waiting for a table to free up at the old location was a pain. Even though the place was big it seemed like it might be bit of a wait but we were shown to a table within 5 minutes of walking in. Our server was super accommodating when we were trying to decide what to Order for apps. The spin dip & pretzels were awesome choices in case you were wondering. Now I’ll admit I’m bias to their wings. In fact I’ll cop to the fact that the fat kid inside of me dreams of these wings when in back home in Virginia. The boneless wings are more like chicken tender chunks. Usually I get my wings hot but not at this place. I get the wimpy and it’s still a bit too hot for my liking. But that’s perfectly fine since that’s how wings should be. The beer selection can’t be beat either. I highly recommend this place. It’s great for wings, beer, big groups, and corn hole.

Good food with a sports-bar atmosphere. Can get loud at times, but it’s great for watching games. Solid menu with variety.

Came in before heading to go see Deadpool for a weekend date with the wife. When we first entered I was struck by the Frat Party atmosphere, and got the sense that they’re still working on figuring out the integration of the Hangar with Amherst Brewing. It took nearly 10 minutes just to be greeted despite there being staff at the hostess stand. However, after the initial frustration. of waiting for a seat, we were promptly greeted by a server. the beer was solid(I tried both a strong ale and an IPA from Amherst Brewing, both of which were delicious). We got a massive amount of food as well(boneless wings and sliders were enough for two meals), all of which was delicious. Long story short, if your tolerance for college kids and noise is high enough, come during the school year. Otherwise, wait for the off season. Once they square away their front end(they should have maintained the old ABC entrance) it’ll be solid. The food and beer is still top notch.

I really enjoyed my first experience here. Great food, pretty good prices, friendly staff and a great selection of beers and liquors! Extra points for all the local brews. I will be back to try more. We had a party of 10 and it was well managed even once all the college students rushed in!

Good local beer on tap brewed on site. Pool tables, foosball, corhole, buck hunter. We didnt get food, but I like this place. Came here for drinks before a Yale vs. UMass hockey came. I would definitely recommend this place as a drinking spot

I would start this out with I love the food so much! It comes out quick and always delicious. The location change was a great idea, and I love the spacious seating. I come here often and service is usually good. However, last night I had the absolute worst server I’ve ever dealt with in my life so far. I was truly appalled at how disrespectful and apathetic she was towards me and my friend. She never told me her name otherwise I would have called about her directly, she had black hair. I came in between 10 – 10:30pm and it was seat yourself. I sat in the back section right in front of the waiters station, and was ignored for almost 20 minutes with no menu. Finally got menus and ordered some boneless wings, which came out from another server and she still hadn’t brought us the drinks. She would ask if things were okay as she’s walking away. We finished and waited another 10 minutes as she blatantly ignored us. She gives us the bill and practically throws the pen at us, all unprovoked. She was very short with us and incredibly rude. Overall I hope to never see this awful waitress again or I will just walk right back out. Otherwise I love this restaurant and will always return, I am just upset at how rude the server was.

Huge bar with brewery! Pool tables and shuffle board! Big TVs for the games and great wings. Loads of craft beer and macro beer for everyone. If there was ever going to be a big party, this place can hold one.

My first visit to the new location. It still feels like the Amherst Brewing Company with the great Hanger wings. There have been many changes including a new front door.

The New Hanger looks great! Had a very bad experience with a rude waitress behind the bar. I ordered wings and they shorted me one wing. Not a big deal but when I told the waitress she practically threw the wing at me then she refused to wait on me. Service was plain olé horrible. Hopefully they will get better

My most recent experience here was a big disapointment. My boyfriend and I go here quite often so I am wondering what changed. We were told the wait would be 30 mins, okay sounds good. After an hour of waiting we asked the guy at the desk how much longer it would be, he says oh maybe 10 mins you are next on the list, okay great. 25 mins later we are still waiting… and after all this time people who have come in much later then us have gotten seated before us, so what happened to being next on the list. We were a party of 2, so because other people have larger parties they are seated first? Who is going to wait almost 2 hours to eat while constantly getting skipped over by parties that just walk through the door. And if thats the case dont tell me when we put our name down the wait is only 30 mins. What an embarrassment, we have never had this issue with any other restaurant, if you get there first you get seated first. It looks like the larger your party the quicker you get seated. If you don’t want to wait make sure you come here with at least 3 or more people otherwise you will be waiting for 2 hours. Has anyone else has this problem with this restaurant? Needless to say we were fed up with waiting and headed over to Arizona Pizza for a great dinner.

The Hangar Pub and Grill moved across the street in late 2015 and now occupies the former Amherst Brewing Company building. The space is bright and airy and there’s lots more room. Five of us shared several flavors of boneless chicken wings, plus nachos and individual meals. It was Black Wednesday, the night before Thanksgiving, so they had a special menu of dark beers to try in 4 oz, 8 oz and larger sizes. The wait staff were busy but managed by and large to keep up. It’s a sports bar, so there are plenty of televisions to track your favorite sport. Plus they have pool tables and corn hole games. For those who want to try Amherst Brewery’s selections, which are still available, they have serve yourself taps that rely on cards to measure your usage and how much you owe. That looked interesting; I might try that next time. I encourage you to try the Hangar in its new spot.

Kudos to Hangar for expanding! I like to come here after getting out of work late for a quick bite. They have made the menu a hybrid of the old ABC menu and the Hangar menu. Wings are the same, but they changed the French fries and the fried pickles. They are certainly not in keeping with the tradition of Hangar, so that’s sad. But the wings are delicious!!!

Best wings in the area! My boyfriend and I are completely addicted to the sweet chili wings and can’t get enough! The waitress Diana is always friendly, nice and always remembers our orders. They also have a great selection of beers on tap!

Went there last night for the first time after the reopening as the Hangar Pub & Grill(formerly Amherst Brewing Company). I ordered the deep fried pickles and the meatloaf, and both were delicious, as well as a really good raspberry wheat beer. Our waitress was polite and attentive, even though it was packed. The portion sizes were really good, and the prices weren’t bad. A+++ on both food and service, and the beer list is VERY extensive. The only reason for the four and not five star review was that the booth section was closed off, so we had to sit at one of the tables near the bar. I am really short and the bar stools are a bit too tall for me to sit on comfortably, and I would have preferred a booth.
