There is no longer a Farmer’s Market at Salzberg Square. A natural skin care products store has taken over the space. The owner said that the Farmer’s Market was too hard to run – she had to go and get the products from the farmers and stock it herself, and it was just too difficult to do. So, she’s phasing out the market and just focusing on the natural beauty products.
Amherst does have a Farmer’s Market at the town square on Thursday afternoons from 2:30 to 6:30 (?) from May to ??? I visited the market last week, and there were about 8 vendors. There was NO produce (too early, I suppose). There was one vendor selling fresh fish off the boat. Apparently, she was sold out by 4:30 p.m. so get there early! Other vendors included a local winery, a cake/​cupcake maker, a soap maker, a jewelry maker, a baker (breads and pastries) and a few others. I’m hoping that the market draws more vendors later in the growing season.
