This farm has amazing produce and wonderful bakery items! We go at minimum 2 times a year to go apple picking — great for the whole family!

Cute as a button. This scenic farm looks like a picture perfect New England fall postcard. It comes with apple and peach picking, a chicken coop, fall flowers, carts full of pumpkins, stroll in the golden woods. The main store sells ridiculously New England items like crisp apple preserve and pumpkin spice spread. The must try is the apple cider donuts, which are continuously made fresh throughout the day. There is usually a line where you pass pumpkin whoopie pies and other fall pastries. There is a little mini mart and then you can check out and purchase your hot or cold apple cider. It’s a perfect place to take a family or a small trip out of Boston with your friends for some casual photos.

Went apple picking about a month ago. Gorgeous HUGE farm with an incredible selection of apples. They also had a few peaches and the absolute best plums I have ever had. We had to search hard for these as it was past prime season but so worth it. Cider donuts were delicious and parking was easy. They had some chickens and a few swings for the smaller kids. Expect to walk a lot especially uphill but you will be rewarded by a beautiful view and great apples.

Arrived around noon on a beautiful saturday and while certainly busy, it was not overwhelmingly packed by any means. The grounds are very well kept, and they have a great selection and size of pumpkins. A more casual store outside is for purchasing and weighing pumpkins, as well as for the famous apple cider donuts, cider(Hot or iced) and a couple other goodies. They had fresh mini chicken pot pies for sale come out of the oven when we were in line! Apple picking — did not go for this, but a nice hayride takes you to their orchards. While you cannot take the hayride if you are not taking part in apple picking(due to volume of people i assume) you can still go explore on feet and i found it was well worth it to go explore regardless. Pumpkins — pretty cheap, bought a small one but still not more than 2 dollars and some change. Store — be prepared for some long lines perhaps, but they move quite quickly. Bought some of their fresh and baked on site pastries and they were delish. They also sell quite a bit of outside products though. The atmosphere is overall great, lots of room for seating and tons of backdrops for beautiful pictures. Great for families, friends and everyone pretty much. I thought it was nice to let people explore the orchards on foot(even without paying to apple pick) by themselves as it feels much less intrusive and overall makes for a much better time!

This is my second year coming. The farm is beautiful and their selection of apples is impressive. So many delicious varieties to choose from. The orchard is serene and perfect for getting away from the city to take in nature and fresh air. They arent certified organic, but they say most of their produce is pesticide free so I have no problem eating the apples right off the trees. I appreciate their form of farming, Integrated Pest Management(IPM). It seems to help maintain the land and insect population that helps the produce thrive. They have their own bee’s which is amazing considering the declining bee populations across the planet. Keep up the excellent work!!!

Nice drive out to Cider Hill this past weekend and though it was pretty chilly and overcast, no rain! This worked in our favor because there weren’t a ton of crowds! My son had a blast running around, checking out the animals, the tire swings and his favorite was climbing and jumping on the hay bales. The free tractor ride was also a hit. We didn’t do the apple picking because $ 20 for a small bag of apples seems a bit much, especially when I can go to another farm nearby and get a similar amount for $ 8⁄10. Cider donuts are some of the best we’ve had and their farm store is pretty amazing with any and everything you could want!

I got tons of recomendations to check out Cider Hill for apple picking this year. I went on a weekday(which maybe was the mistake) because I wanted it to not be packed like most weekends I’ve gone in years past. So I go on a Tuesday and the lady at the counter acted like I was bothering her day. I paid for the bag, she never told me where to go, what apples they had, etc. I had to ask and she barely was able to grunt it out that I was to go up the hill. After, I went in the store to shop and pay for our pumpkin. Again, she was bothered by our presence. I was very disappointed with the whole experience. My son enjoyed the little play area and the apples were like any other orchard. The donuts were yummy!

They have several orchards offering numerous varieties of apples. And the apples are huge! Rows and rows of trees heavy with these beautiful, plump, delicious apples! I was surprised at how much fun I had picking apples. There are plenty of these rotund, dangling beauties, so the game was to nab the biggest ones. I did leave with THEBIGGEST apple I’ve ever seen – holy cow, it’s beastly and still sitting in my fridge so I can daily admire its glory. Peach-picking had recently ended, but we checked out the orchards anyway, and managed to nab some peaches. At $ 20/peck or bag(comes out to about $ 2/lb), not bad compared to other places. The country store is awesome: tidy and charming with a vast selection of goodies. Picked up some pumpkin butter(that I’ve yet to try)! Ohh, I wanted to try ALL of their pastries; everything looked so good! The pumpkin muffin was moist and pumpkiny and I want one now. Their cider donuts(I prefer the non-sugarcoated) are tasty and their cider, deeelish. Thumbs up, Cider Hill!

I have been picking here for years and the farm just keeps getting better. Great general store. Produce in the market is outstanding. Cider donuts can’t be beat. My only drawback is, as I get older, that trip up the hill to get awesome«pick your own» plums and peaches gets tougher and tougher. Worth the trip from North Andover every time!

Great cider donuts! Bring the kids and see the farm animals. Tastings were crappy — but I’m glad I tried the donuts.

You know what they say about books and judgement and covers? Yeah, that. Cider Hill Farm has the external face of a functional, active farm because, well, it is one. A dusty parking«lot,» a chicken coop flooded with egg-laying fowl, a couple of lazy pigs rolling in dirt baths, a goat with a smile straight out of an awkward family photo, a modest but beautiful nursery, and acres upon acres of(mostly) edible vegetation. Then you step in to their market, and lo, the future! Okay, the present, but the best of the now! A full bakery with arguably the best elephant ear I’ve had in years(flakey with great chew, more savory than sweet in spite of the sanding sugar liberally coating the top), cookies, tarts, and out-of-season cider donuts that can’t beat fresh fried, but come darn close. The produce is oddly lacking in quantity, perhaps more of a showcase for their CSA., but it kills in quality. These carrots look like those pulled from the grounds of a Warner Bros. cartoon; the leeks are deep green at the tips and pearlescent at the bulb. And the packaged goods are awesome — running the local and semi-local gamut from Tate’s chocolate chippers to honey harvested days ago. Drink cooler is packed to the gills with interesting sippers, too. Mojto tea? If you insist. Oh, and Richardson’s ice cream. And an ice cream pizza. And…

I’ve been here for apple picking and most recently just to stuff a cider donut in my face. I really like it. Apple picking has always been fun and they have WARM apple cider donuts(which have been surprisingly hard to find at other farms). The other desserts looked amazing too.

Awesome farm/orchard in Amesbury. I’ve been twice now and both times have been great. There are so many types of apples to choose from for picking at good prices. The first time I went it was a busy weekend day but the orchard itself is large enough where we didn’t have any problems picking apples with out running in to the other droves of families. They offer tractor rides up the hill to the orchards if you don’t want to walk or you can make your way up on your own. After an hour or so of apple picking, you may be getting a little hungry, and what is more perfect on a crisp fall morning then a fresh cider donut and cup of hot cider? I’m not even a huge sweets fan, but their donuts are just so very good and made in house. They have a large country store filled with various fruits, veggies, baked goods and other treats. Many of their produce are picked right on their farm. There are also animals, a big pumpkin patch, and a corn maze. I would say that it has been my favorite apple picking experience in New England, and they don’t break your bank like some of the other farms/orchards in the area.

Love this farm. I am a visitor from May through October. Very well run, fair prices, great farm atmosphere. Definitely a strong option over Smolak and others. One price weekend in apple picking gets you all the options included without breaking the bank. Love the commitment to sustainable too. Come for fresh eggs and cider donuts. Leave with great memories of an awesome farm weekend.

I liked it but I like applecrest better. I couldn’t figure out how things worked so I wasn’t able to pick anything. They had ample parking, a cute store, and some really cute barn animals for petting, which was my favorite part! It’s definitely a place where some walking is required. We went at the very end of August during a weekday so I’m not sure if they do hayrides and whatnot during the prime hours.

2 words: cider donut. Fresh. Light. Perfect. If you go in the fall for no other reason, visit for the cider donuts. I promise that you will think it is among the best decisions of your life. There were pumpkins galore and of all shapes and sizes. PYO apples were what it seemed like most were visiting the Farm for. I loved the store that had a variety of farm-raised or baked items, along with kitchen staples for cooking and baking. Not where you would do your every day shopping — but a mini-farmer’s market for sure. We were there in the peak of fall. I can only imagine the spring and summer bounty. Picturesque spot on the MA /NH border.
