Heard great things about this place but when I went to the expected location of his taco truck, he was not there. I tried this at least 4 different days and at all different times of the day and still was not able to find him. Wasted gas and wasted time that now I’m not even interested in trying out the tacos. Maybe he posts his locations/hours on some website that I am unaware of but I am overall disappointed with the lack of consistency. And I saw the«Rico’s Taco» sign so I know I was at the right spot.

Excellent Fare. The Burrito comes with fresh lettuce tomato & avocado slices. There is a flavorful green sauce and a yellow sauce with some kick if you desire. My family loves it. I have also had Tamale which was very good but only available certain days. Other patrons had Tacos which looked very good.

Simple, authentic Mexican street food with the great meat choices. Rico’s understands good value. This place is great.

Delicious. Definitely worth the inconvenience of driving to the edge of town any time of day. Pork tamale was good and quite spicy. Rivals Mr Burrito tamales which I still think are slightly better. But the burritos at Rico’s probably edge out Mr Burrito.

The prices are cheap($ 1.50 per taco — and the tacos are pretty full) and the food is authentic and delicious. If you like spicy, go for the orange sauce! When you arrive someone will take your order and give you a number, and then you can pay when your food is ready or after you eat. They offer«dine-in»(there are a couple picnic tables, but plenty of space to spread out if you don’t mind sitting on the ground or bring your own chairs) or takeout. The parking lot they’re in is rough shape, so watch for the holes when you’re driving in. It’s best to come in through the Casey’s parking lot rather than the entrance off Duff, especially if it’s rained recently. Rico’s will be a staple for me all summer long!

I am a native Texan and this tastes just like back home! Looks right, prices are right, and good olé Mexican food made by a Mexican family. They’ve got multiple park benches and an awning/tent thing so there’s shade and space for a good 20 or so customers to sit at a time. They aren’t that fluent in English, just the very basics, so I wouldn’t recommend throwing a million substitutions or questions. It’s a taco truck and a taste of Mexico in Iowa. The only taste of Mexico in Iowa you’ll get without driving to Des Moines. Sorry Mr. Burrito, you are about to go out of business. Rico’s food is fresh and made to order. This is a taco truck so cash only! Order, pay upfront, get a ticket, wait 5 minutes, and then get your yummy food!

Everything we had – quesadillas, tacos of various types – was fantastic. The prices are awesome($ 1.50 for a well-stuffed taco). The server we spoke to was friendly and helpful. There’s only one table, but there’s lots of space on the grass if you want to throw down a blanket. They’re also on the edge of a parking lot, so you can easily eat in your car, on the back of your pickup, etc. Tacos, quesadillas, burritos, tortas. You know you want it .go get it!
