The bed had hair in it and a stain on the sheets. Our toilet broke and wouldn’t stop flushing the entire time we were there. Tv is smaller than average. When we locked our door to our room it wouldn’t lock from the outside, so anyone could walk in at anytime… which was uncomfortable. The air conditioner smelled like dead animal. Also our fridge didn’t work so in order to have cold waters we had to put the water bottles in ice. The only plus was the price was cheap so I guess it was okay for the money. The staff seemed nice and they also had a waffle maker to make waffles in the morning!:)

For the price, this was an excellent visit. Just remodeled. Lobby, breakfast area and rooms are different than what is on the web site, but actually better. Rooms were clean and quiet. Staff was nice. We visit Ames often, and we will make this one of our options.

My mother stayed while visiting me at college. Very poor customer service. Was told that she was to get a discount because of screaming cop banging on neighbor’s door around 1am. Next morning never got a discount. Will never stay again.

Great place for the price! If you are looking for a no frills but clean and comfortable hotel, this is the place! When I arrived and requested a room, they said they were booked and initially referred me to a sister hotel down the street. Knowing they had suites available and likely not to sell them before the end of the night, the hotel clerk offered me the suite for $ 10 off the going rate and just $ 10 over the regular room rate. Also, hotel is just newly renovated. Continental breakfast was great too!

My husband and I have stayed here once before, and it was fine. With it being so cheap we decided to stay again since we were only in for two nights and would only be spending the nights at the hotel. I am quite disappointed with this stay. First, we left our do not disturb sign on the door when we left to spend Christmas with my husband’s family, and when we returned we found a note in the key slot saying that they didn’t come in to turn down our room due to our do not disturb sign. Great. That’s what we wanted. However our toilet paper was folded into a point, so SOMEONE had come in anyway. This was really unsettling to me. In addition, the following morning(this morning), we were in bed sleeping(with a noon check out time) and at nine AM the maid service knocked and then IMMEDIATELY opened the door. Our dogs didn’t even have time to react and bark, that’s how fast they came in. Luckily our door was latched, so that stopped them from fully coming in, but still. Between the two instances I just felt NO sense of privacy. Then when we went to complain to the front desk this morning, the girl pretty much brushed us off. She simply said she was sorry for the inconvenience. Granted, my husband sugar coated the whole incident as he doesn’t like to be rude, but I don’t think it’s rude to complain about something as personal as privacy when it’s one of the main things I’m paying for when I stay at a hotel. We will never stay here again, I’d rather pay double the price for a place that respects my wishes.

This is a great place for the price. The place is always very clean and you can’t beat the price, the location is kinda far off campus but it’s isn’t that big of deal. If you are coming in on a football weekend make sure to reserve early.
